Friendly, and really informative when it came to explaining the history of Jerome and why so much activity is present. We lucked out on a private tour for my partner and I but he was laid back, unscripted and authentic. Never a dull moment! So shout out to Ed! We were lucky enough to converse with some spirits! This was the best ghost tour I've ever been on, and I've been on several throughout the US. My boyfriend and I decided to make reservations for the tour during October, which is a very busy time to visit Jerome. We were able to find a free parking place down two levels of stairs from the ghost tour headquarters. For this tour, you need to be able to walk up and down steps and on uneven surfaces. We checked in for the 7:00 pm tour and each of us signed a waiver. While we waited, we got to visit with the owner's very cute bulldog. Several people walked in while we were waiting and then they divided us into two groups, the one hour tour group that we were on and the two hour "Pandora's Box" tour. They went over the EMF Reader and Spirit Box equipment that we were able to borrow. They also provided a small flashlight and umbrella, if you needed one. Our tour guide was a very knowledgeable and personable young man. I unfortunately cannot remember his name. We visited the first two outdoor sites, a church and a parking lot where the first hospital in Jerome once stood, when it started to rain really hard. Our tour guide made the wise choice to pivot. He loaded us up into the company van and took us to the old Jerome High School, where we were able to explore the creepy abandoned auditorium that was once a hospice facility for the Spanish Flu epidemic of 1918. We were able to walk around and explore the auditorium, stage area, balcony, locker room, and boiler room, all while interacting with the many spirits that came through on the EMF Readers and Spirit Boxes. It was fascinating! I could have stayed there all night. It was a truly awesome experience. We would like to return to Jerome and take another tour with Jerome Ghost Tours in the off season. We will definitely sign up for the Pandora's Box tour next time, so we can go back to the High School Auditorium and also visit the cemetery. read more

I had a fun experience doing this tour, knowing the history of this ghost town and seeing it on an episode of Ghost Adventures made it even more exciting for me. I convinced my skeptical husband to do this tour that had us using ghost hunting equipment like an EMF reader that lights up green when a spirit is around and a spirit box to communicate with spirits. The guides were very informative about the violent history of Jerome, we loved hearing all about it. We walked around a parking lot with the tour group and there was some activity that almost sounded like a radio, we asked if there were any spirits around we heard male voices saying the names Smith, Kevin and David come through the spirit box. Very exciting! You could really feel the spirits using the spirit box. We then walked to an old church, the Connor Hotel, an area with outdoor art work that was also highly active, my EMF reader lit up solid green for me, twice, when I asked the spirits if they were near me, then I asked where they were from, and heard a response of Green River or Green Valley and then heard a female voice come through saying Hey! I did enjoy this tour a lot, but it felt very rushed and when I asked the guide at the end of the tour if they encountered angry spirits, they said they only have nice ghosts in Jerome. Hard to believe that when you hear the rough stories and it was once called the Wickedest Town in the West. read more

Took this tour with the wife, it's not something I would have picked, so I'm admitting some bias right at the start of this review. I wasn't really sure what to expect. They give you some ghost hunting stuff that seemed to be picking up some local radio waves or something, and some train horn type noises? Or maybe it was actual ghosts. I don't really know what to think. The box would pickup some sort of weird noises or radio stations and say names and stuff. From my understanding if you heard a name then it was a ghost. The information and stories about Jerome were decent and interesting and was the highlight of the tour for me. The tour was just an outside parking lot, outside in front of a church, and the area where the sculptures are, maybe one additional location outside. (highly active areas). Didn't require much walking at all as the sites we went to were near each other. I looked up the gear we used online, and it is pretty affordable stuff, but it was from a real ghost hunting site that sells lots of equipment, including some much more expensive pieces so that is good, not just some toys from aliexpress. You could get your own gear for the cost of the tour for two, but I guess that should be expected. If you heard a voice then "it was a ghost", and we did have some "interactions" like asking them if they want to talk and getting a somewhat audible "no" which seemed real, or asking them to light up the other gadget which was an EMF meter so it almost did seem convincing to me. But there were other weird noises like trains or something coming out of the box too. Thank goodness all the ghosts are so friendly there even though the stories we are told on the tour would have you thinking otherwise. I don't really know what to believe at the end of it. It seemed somewhat scripted (but again I did like the history part, so that's not necessarily bad) and maybe a little impersonal or rushed, so I'm not sure anything was actually real, but it did make question the possibility more than other tours. My expectations were not that high. I think giving out gear was probably something all ghost tour places should do, but often they are only stories from doing previous ones. Hence the 3 stars instead of my hating the tour. read more

We did the Pandoras box tour with Courtney. She was absolutely amazing. Definitely recommend taking a tour with her. She was very knowledgeable about the history and was a really helpful guide. Assisted people with how to communicate with spirits effectively and she was also knowledgeable about the hot spots. Even knew spirits on a first name basis.We loved the locations on this tour. The School Gymnasium was awesome and so was the cemetery. On our tour we got voices through the spirit box consistently. Also got some emf hits. At the school we heard voices down the hallway of the front entrance. We wish the group tour could have been a bit smaller size as sometimes we felt the spirit box noise from all the people was a bit overwhelming in certain spots Overall this tour was amazing and I definitely recommend going on this tour. Do NOT do this tour. While they have a cool gimmick for letting you use ghost hunting gear, the staff are a nightmare and do not communicate the experience to you or the rules. It was so bad that I was lied to by the booking employee and then harassed by the tour guide with one of the least personable attitudes I've ever come across in historic tour experiences. AND if you try to take pictures or videos with your group they corner you and accuse you of being from a "rival ghost group" and are "trying to steal secrets" like what? These people are insane. So bad I had to dispute with my bank because despite being lied to on what the service I was purchasing was, they refused to give me a refund. Crooks and people who take advantage of tourists even when you're neighbors from Phoenix! AVOID AS OF SEPTEMBER 2025 I have evidence of all of this and happy to share with anyone who would like. read more

Booked a 2 hour Pandora's box tour for 9pm. I was a little afraid of having to walk for 2 hours but it was actually an hour of walking then driving to the next couple of places. While I didn't experience anything out of the ordinary, it was nice just to learn about the town and everything that happened there. The auditorium and cemetery were the spookiest. Some of the people said they saw stuff or felt something but I didn't. However I think I heard please leave over my spirit box in the cemetery so we all left. I was really wanting to experience something. Maybe next time. If you're going to be in Jerome I highly recommend the tour, but do the pandora box one for 2 hours. Our guide Courtney was really nice and very knowledgeable about the whole town. We took plenty of breaks in the shade so we were able to rest and prevent overheating while we were walking around in the hot sun. Went on a ghost tour September 17 2025. They give you a device that makes a lot of static and tells you that it means you are near a ghost and the ghost might talk to you through the device. It's kinda fun. But I was let down when they started a story and said they would speak more on the subject at the end of the tour. But I bought the one hour tour not the hour in a half or two hour. Idk. But they never finished speaking about the stuff they said they would at the end. I didn't remember to ask until I left so my bad. But I was let down. There was some information I learned about Jerome and I probably would have learned more if I took the history tour. They don't promise you see or hear a ghost but it's still not worth $45 per person per hour. I don't know what I thought it would be like, it was something to do. But I felt let down for the price. No I would not recommend taking the ghost tour unless you need something to do and want bragging rights to have taken the tour. I guess that sometimes there might be paranormal activity and that might have made it worth the money. They basically take you outside and tell you stories. I think I thought I'd get a tour inside a hotel or hospital or something. But no. They just walk you around with a device and tell you stories that you may or may not hear. read more

The worst tour I have ever had! We did the Pandora Tour which COULD have been cool because it includes sites most other tours don't go to, like the old high school and graveyard. However, the guide, Courtney, ruined it. I don't often post these kinds of reviews, but I hope the company can use it for training purposes. Courtney was rushed and phoning it in. She spoke very fast, was hard to follow, and she was resistant to repeating herself. Even if SHE has done this tour 100 times, it was OUR first time. She should have PRETENDED she cared. Rather than using the tour as a time to teach us about Jerome or tell scary stories, Courtney would just say, "Spirits named Bob, John, Sally, ::insert fifteen other names:: are here. Ok. Go use your spirit boxes." We had very little context which took away the fun. Courtney would also stand at the stop of a hill, point out 5 spots, walk us down the hill, and then act annoyed if we asked what a site was again. She should have paced out the descriptions for when we actually walked past the sites. Most ridiculously, Courtney got mad at us for standing in 2 rows (all facing her) instead of a single file straight line. We were a larger group, so a 2 row cluster made it easier for us to be closer and hear her. However, she scolded us and made us feel like naughty school kids. God forbid someone be hearing impaired! There was a couple who were either plants or who just joined the tour late and took their own car. It was very strange. Courtney was definitely favoring them and made the rest of us feel like outcasts. Not professional. Again, I was specific because I hope the company can use it for training purposes and BE BETTER. There are a lot of tour companies in Jerome and probably a lot of tour guides. Guests will consider this before making a booking. read more

We had an absolute blast here. Austin was our tour guide, and provided us with so much unknown history of the town of Jerome. He was also our paranormal tour guide as we attempted to contact the spirits at several notorious locations. We signed up for the full Pandora's Box 2 hour tour. I highly recommend this, as the one hour town walk simply scratches the surface of the haunted and blood soaked nature of this town. We stopped first at the parking lot where the original hospital in Jerome was located. We didn't have much success at this spot, or the church just down the cobble stone road. However, once we hopped in the van and went to the old high schools auditorium and lower levels of the teachers quarters things got interesting. I don't want to spoil too much, but we experienced some really cool stuff in both of these locations...not to mention a real live bat and two black widow spiders. So cool! After this we made a quick van trip to the Jerome Cemetery and got our first spirit contact here, where we actually heard a clear voice on our spirit box. One hundred percent worth the price of admission. Wear comfortable closed toed shoes, or hiking boots for sure. The floors and stairs in the auditorium as well as hiking around an unlit cemetery at night with cactus and rocks...we were glad we wore our boots. Austin was amazing, spewing facts and figures about Jerome and its wicked culture that will make your head spin. Opium, bordellos, corporate greed, blood soaked streets, smelting accidents, salacious priests, and charitable heiresses are all a part of the tour that will blow your mind. To say we enjoyed this would be an understatement. Bring water as you will be walking up and down some steeper streets at 5,200' of elevation. And, there are no restrooms once you are on tour, so plan a bladder break at the local fire station pre departure. Well, let's just say the town of Jerome was an adventure for my wife to even get there. Let's just say driving in the mountains so high made my nerves raw already. None the less, this tour was amazing! We learned A LOT and I highly recommend checking out Jerome Ghost Tours and the town of Jerome if you have an afternoon or evening to kill (though I doubt I would do that drive again at night). My wife and I decided on the Pandora's Box tour and we were blessed to have Courtney as our tour group. She was extremely knowledgeable and all around pleasant to be around! We were VERY lucky that the other members were cheap and decided to do only an hour. My wife and I got to have Courtney as our own personal haunted tour guide and it was superb! Just kiddin about the "cheap" comment, but we were definitely thankful to have her all to ourselves! It's more than worth it to do the 2 hour tour to be honest. Now to the nitty gritty, I am skeptical about this whole "ghost" thing, but I went in with an open mind. Let's just say that I do believe I did hear some voices through the provided equipment, though I'm not saying it as a definite. But what definitely left me feeling very uneasy/spoked was in the girls locker room in the school. I felt something that made my skin crawl. My wife even noticed my goose bumps all of sudden appear. The only way I could describe it was like a very cool breeze on the back of my neck. It was hot as hell in there so when I felt that, I knew I was not alone. So doing what any black man would do on a haunted tour in Jerome, AZ, I kindly whispered to my wife, "let's get the f*ck out of here". Of course once we left the school Courtney decided it was time to head to the cemetery. I was over it at this point but my wife was loving the sh*t out of this tour so I manned up and went along. My rationale was if any strange sh*t happened there at least I can make a break for it unlike feeling trapped in the girls small locker room. Enough rambling here...all in all, it was a fun and educational experience and I highly recommend it for families or just about anyone who wants to learn from America's great and sometimes tragic past. We had very small amounts of activity, but enough that it made it plausible. Minus 1 star was for the lack of information before hand regarding restrooms and parking. First of all, the Haskins House is NO LONGER on the tour (despite what is advertised). Secondly, the tour provides a relatively thorough history of Jerome's glory days. But be warned, the "landmarks" amount to a dusty old parking lot, the sidewalk in front of a brick church, and the sidewalk in front of mining equipment on public display along Jerome's main street. Unless you are an ardent believer in electronic communication with spirits, think twice about spending your vacation funds on this tour! read more

Learning the history of the ghost town, and especially being able to use the ghost hunting equipment is a real treat. fun orchestrated scary movie kind of vibe filled with fictional tales. or tour guide two years in a row falsely brought us to the famous jerome sliding jail facade- which we find out wasn't even the correct sliding jail- he brought us to the remnants of la victoria facade grocery store and told us both years in a row that this is the famous sliding jail. he had no clue what he was talking about. the sliding jail isn't envelope next to that. it is a block over and had its own historical plaque. they are entertaining but fill their tour with fictional stories that are not true. it was entertaining and u saw cool spots but bear u. mind they elaborate big time read more

A fun way to spend a dark evening in the town of Jerome. You can choose between two types of tours. One involves using some equipment to "channel" the spirits. This was a bit gimmicky and cheesy but if you are in the mood for this you can play along with whomever is transmitting over the radio frequency you are scanning. The tour guide did a great job giving the creepy history of the mining town, especially learning why some things are the way they are right now. Not going to give away any spoilers. Courtney was amazing and clearly had a genuine connection and care for the paranormal. she gave awesome history and her own experiences. i even asked her about some of her personal history with the spiritual and she was more than willing to share. she talks kind of fast but it comes off as because she wants to get in so much info, not cuz she's rushing you. we had several interactions and my dad who is not generally a big believer, left very impressed by the loud clear "hello"s we got through the spirit box. i wish i could do this tour a bunch of times and get a bunch of different experiences!!! read more

Had a great time on the Pandora's Box tour. Got a lot of activity coming through the voice box in the parking lot of the old hospital grounds. We got to learn a lot about the history of Jerome. Our favorite part was the abandoned high school where our entire group's EMF detectors went crazy in a random spot. Our tour guide, a young bearded man, was great. His passion for the history of the town and love for the ghost hunt certainly came through. I was surprised that we got as much activity as we did during a day trip. First-time experience doing a ghost tour, and Jerome Ghost Tours did not disappoint! Courtney was our guide, and she was phenomenal. Before the tour even started, she went out of her way to call each party to see if we needed help finding the building - talk about customer service. Tour guides have bring the energy to the group, and for an experience like this, Courtney went above all expectations in being informative, funny, engaging, and really encouraged us to capitalize on our experience. It is clear she has so much passion for her profession; she brought that zeal throughout the tour. Though it wasn't a particularly active night - Courtney compared ghost activity to fishing; some days are great, some not so much - we had a few moments of excitement, which was exhilarating. I honestly want to say that this was a nice experience. Even tho I did not get to experience any ghost, it was interesting to hear the history of the town. My group went into the 7pm tour thinking it would be scary ghost hunting at night, unfortunately, it was cold and at times I felt I was going to slip on black ice and break the evp reader, but that didn't happen. Went on 11/26/24 for the 2 hour tour at 5 pm. Cant reccomend enough. We got to learn tons of history behind this old mining town as well as see lots of old spooky locations. My favorite part was getting to experience some of the equipment in action. Our guide was fantastic and super enthusiastic about the paranormal and was very kind and respectful.
