Had a blast off-roading through the forest with my husband. Tom was an excellent guide and was full of information about the area.

After seeing their Jeeps in various downtown parades, I wanted to try Angry Ape, so I jumped at it when we were invited to join a private tour! The tour was in mid-April. Destinations were the Mingus Mountains and Cottonwood. It was an all-day tour. We had great weather - not too hot and not too cool. Two Angry Ape jeeps transported part of our group. Owner Tom was one of the drivers. Word to the wise: 5 people do NOT fit comfortably in the Jeeps. It works well for 4 people, 3 plus driver. The 5th person is crammed in the middle of the back seat with zero legroom. Fortunately, we had enough other vehicles to redistribute people, so no one had to be that 5th person for long. I went on a Pink Jeep tour in Sedona a couple of years ago. That was a lot bumpier and scarier than this one. There certainly were bumpy parts to this tour, but none of them scared the heck out of me! A private Jeep in our group had trouble negotiating some of the bumpier areas, but the Angry Ape jeep drivers had no issues. Tom is fun and personable, with lots of stories to tell. He kept us laughing the whole trip. His skill as a driver is very obvious. His worker (unfortunately, I forgot his name) was also very skilled. My husband and I had a great time! read more

So much FUN. Due to high winds, we had to change our schedule so on a lark, I called Angry Ape. I spoke to the owner and discussed the various tour options and lucky for us, tours are not always booked up during mid week. We chose the Sierra Prieta and Copper Canyon Tour and we really enjoyed it. The history, the little trivia details and the amazing views were really AWESOME. What a wonderful trip we had of the most beautiful sunset ever. The trip up the mountain was great. Guides were kind and fun. We felt very comfortable with them and they took great care of us. We were served S'mores and "Wolf'ems" (it's a thing--look it up!). I couldn't stop eating the Wolf'ems! LOL Be aware there are no bathrooms so plan ahead. Bring a camera and walking shoes. They supply the rest. You should do this. You won't regret it. read more

Scenic and exciting jeep ride. It snowed all night, but the streets were clear by the time our jeep tour started. Snow and slushy roads on the mountain trail but always felt safe with John. John was very knowledgeable and friendly. Would highly recommend. read more

We did the Ponderosa to Goldwater tour for our first trip & will definitely be booking again. The tour had beautiful scenery, wildlife, waterfalls, and great history. The terrain was rough in spots but that was the beauty of being in an area not well traveled. We felt completely safe in Tom's hands. The hummer was surprisingly comfortable as he maneuvered it up and down some challenging areas. Great experience going into the Prescott national Forest on the back roads. Comfortable seating, time to take pictures of vistas and great stories about the history of Prescott as well as where to eat and other things to do. My three friends and I decided to do their sunset tour using a Groupon we found. Our tour guide met us in his Hummer at the Hilton. On our way up to the viewpoint, he did a great job navigating the vehicle and talking up the history of Prescott and the lovely flora and fauna we would see on the way. We were delighted to see a lot of mule deer when we went! The views were spectacular! The sunset was amazing and there was even a thunderstorm behind us that treated us to lightning displays. His wife had come earlier to set up the comfortable seating by a propane fire and we were treated to yummy sweets we cooked on the fire and beverages. This was such a fun adventure! I took my 12 year old for a jeep and sunset tour with camp fire at the top of mountain. Thomas is knowledgeable about the area and pointed out unique sites as well as animals along the way. From time to time we run into Tom and his wife out in the dirt. A couple months ago a young driver had slid of the road in snow and ice. Tom took the time out lend his assistance. We came in to Prescott for a couple days and we didn't really have any plans, Angry Ape was mentioned in the suggestions by the campground. I called in the evening and we booked a sunset & smores tour for the next day. The scenery was beautiful and Tom's local history provided great conversation. At the top of the mountain we met his wife and learned about a new desert called a wolf'em so we had the wolf'ems and s'mores as we watched an amazing sunset from a great vista! My wife, daughter, and I just took an off road tour with Tom, this evening. We went up to Sierra Prieta, about 7100 feet above and watched the sunset! It was spectacular to say the least! We could see the town of Yarnell from off to the left and waves of mountain ranges. Simply amazing. The driver Tom, was the nicest guy ever as we felt so comfortable with him. We loved riding in his Hummer stocked with sodas, snacks, and chairs to sit on while we watched the most beautiful sunset. Really one of the best off-road tours we've ever experienced.
