i saw Dr Peters in the same practice who recommended zapping with laser a tiny red dot on my nose which is a harmless dermatoheliosis, he recommended Dr Garden, I couldnt believe the laser doc wanted to charge a $200 "consultation" and requiring a second appointment for a 20 seconds laser treatment. very questionable business practices, he can increase pricing on the laser treatment and not waste patients time to do 2 visits for a 20 second laser treatment. perhaps is time to retire as he seems to be removed and outdated from the industry protocol standards read more

I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Garden (and Dr. Backus). I am beyond grateful for their expertise. I was in an accident a year ago resulting in some significant facial scarring and 'traumatic tattooing' with gravel bits left in my face after the skin healed over. I found Dr. Garden through a Google search and am SO happy I did. During my initial consultation, Dr. Garden was compassionate and acknowledged how upsetting having facial scarring is, and he came up with a plan using several types of lasers to treat the scarring and leftover gravel. I've had 4 or 5 treatments now and have had AMAZING results - the scars are hardly noticeable. It's truly remarkable. Dr. Garden was also able to document medical necessity and my insurance is covering the treatments. I owe my renewed confidence to these two fantastic physicians. 10/10 all around. read more

I had been going to going to Dr. Garden for a series of laser treatments. About a year and a half later, I went back to his office to see about more treatments, which involved talking to him for less than 5 minutes and him barely glancing at my skin. I was quite surprised a few weeks later to get a bill for $165 for a "new patient" consultation. I called and explained that there had been a mistake, that I had previously been a patient (and spent a couple of thousand $$s) and was told, "No, since it has been over a year, you are a new patient." I was further informed that if I moved forward with additional treatments that the fee would NOT be subtracted from my bill and if i did not pay up, the bill would be sent to collections. I went elsewhere. Penny wise and pound foolish, Dr. Garden. Shame on you for being so greedy. read more

I second Dr. Garden being great. He is a specialist with lasers, sun damage, broken capillaries, etc. I am an esthetician and have always seen great work by him on my clients and I recommend him to new clients if I see they need his kind of help. He also has a lot of integrity as a dermatologist. If he can't fix something he will tell you. His waiting list to get in is long so I know a lot of other people like him too. I found him to be very sweet! I bet if you don't take care of your skin or especially if you tan he will have something to say about it but, if you pay tons of money for laser treatments why wouldn't you wear sunblock every day? Anyway, great doctor if you are serious about fixing your skin. read more

I have been looking around for a place to have the CoolSculpting Laser for fat reduction. Suppose to be just like liposuction however non-invasive. I went to day for a consultation and frankly ready to give them my credit card. When I booked the appointment last week I was clear with the receptionist that I had only a small window of time and would need to be finished by 9:30 (I had a 9am appt) and she said that was fine it was easy, it was early, they would not be running behind. Great! At 9:20 I asked at the desk when I would be seen... seems the Dr was late and when they came in started seeing patients and it would be quite awhile before I could be seen. Whats wrong with people today? My job requires that I keep a strict schedule not only for myself but also for the people that I work with and for. To be so casually and blatantly unconcerned about other peoples time is rude. One of the women behind the desk actually laughed when I told them I would have appreciated a call letting me know they were running late. Dr Garden and Dr Backus have changed my life with their laser hair removal approach for my HS condition. Yes it has been a good year and at a significant cost ( thankful for some insurance coverage with medical necessity documentation by Dr Garden). The office staff is thorough and fantastic Dr Backus and Dr Gardens expertise in care is superior....For me You cannot put a price on getting your life back. I am able to be mobile and live my life. My HS has not reoccurred! This is amazing as I was in a bad situation with increasing occurrences of new and open lesions developing when I first saw them. I am overall 95% healed! I can highly recommended them for laser treatment of HS. Granted HS requires being treated from multiple angles... Diet... Dermatology care... Reduction of stress... And for me laser. read more

I had a total of 6 laser treatments over a course of 6 months for my acne scars last year by Abnoeal D. Bakus and it was the worst experience ever! I wasted a total of $2500 priced $380/treatment including a consultation fee of $165 and it screwed up my face! I ended up breaking out more acne on my face and he said it was normal because my skin needed time to adjust! Such BS! I want to sue this guy and get my money back! I have had laser treatments from both Dr. Garden and Dr. Backus. Dr. Garden is extremely intelligent and patient. He noticed EVERYTHING on my face and was matter-of-fact about lasers and treatment. I have freckles that I wanted removed and Dr. Garden did a beautiful job. As I started to get melasma, he referred me to Dr. Backus, who is a PhD in lasers and he told me that he develops lasers. Impressive! So he has been treating my melasma with a laser that also helps with acne , facial hair, skin tightening... I've had 3 treatments and so far, so great! My melasma is definitely diminished, I can see it's disappearing from my cheekbones. Also, my acne is not nearly as bad as it normally is, I'd estimate 90% better. He is also a very interesting man, his bedside manner is great. I really really am happy with these two doctors, they are awesome. read more

I went to Dr Jerome few months ago ..After waiting for 1 hour and 30 minutes ,he told me I have to came back a different time for a treatment even if I saw him before he, tempted to charge me 175 $ .....for what? Are you all creazy ? You think money are growing in the trees? He did nothing but told me to came back in a few months.. One more thing ..He is so rude for asking me in front of full of people waiting area How old are you? I find him extremely rude.. I walked out and of course I will not pay for waiting,not be treated ,and rudeness..... I will never recommend him and I will never go back !!!! read more

I am a huge fan of Dr. Garden. Twice I've had brown spots zapped off (not sure the name of the apparatus he uses), which to me is so much better, quicker, and easier than using creams with hydroquinone for years at a time. He is gentle, intelligent, and passionate about the skin. I highly recommend him. read more

This is the worst doctor I have ever encountered. I went to him for almost one year and found that each time I saw him, he had a very condescending, disrespectful attitude. I went to him because I was referred to him by another doctor, so I kept giving him a chance, thinking maybe he was just having a bad day. The first time I met him, he made snide comments about my health insurance, saying it would only pay for my coroners report if I die. He always kept me waiting over 1 hour for my appointments even though there was no one else in the waiting room and the place was not busy at all. The worst part about Dr. Garden is that he did not seem to care about my health. I was in severe pain from a laser procedure that he did and he just laughed at me. read more

Dr. Garden is compassionate, patient, and extremely intelligent. He is the only person I would trust to do any type of birthmark removal. He truly cares about each of his patients as whole people- not just about their skin, and is up to date on all the latest techniques and tools. Wow! I cannot believe I had the SAME EXACT experience as the previous Reviewer, Kevin G. I, too was recently referred by my regular dermatologist for a specialized Laser treatment (which they did not have) for Rosacea & broken capillaries. He told me I also had a second skin condition which was never noticed or diagnosed by the same dermatologist I've been seeing regularly for over 15 years. He NEVER examined me under any type of magnified Light, just with his naked eye & had me look at my face with a handheld mirror to explain what I had. He walked out of the office TWO times while I sat there, once for 5 minutes then again for almost 20 minutes with little explanation why he walked out. He told me how much each procedure would cost, NO guarantees on improving one condition & not sounding very certain he could improve the Rosacea. I cannot believe he is the only Laser Specialist in Chicago. He might be decent for other skin conditions but there is NO WAY I would waste my time! That's $165 I'll never see again. I thought he was arrogant, distant & uninvolved. I plan on telling my referring dermatologist to think twice about recommending him. read more

I was referred to Dr. Abnoeal Bakus by my outstanding plastic surgeon for scar revision on my face after an accident. My surgeon assured me that using lasers Dr. Bacus would be able to smooth and lighten my scars. While completely eradicating my scars (an absolute miracle!) Dr. Bacus advised that he could also use the lasers to correct my severe melasma (dark patches of discoloration on my face). Not only was Dr. Bakus over the course of 3 plus years, able to rid me of my melasma, he used the laser to color correct several areas of my face that had lost color!!! While the process took time, Dr. Bakus recorded the results at every visit with extensive photos. The transformation on my face to clear, even toned skin has been absolutely life changing!!!
