She responded to my questions quickly and was always willing to adjust our invoices or provide recommendations. They are also the most affordable company I've found in the DC area. On site, the catering team went above and beyond to ensure our events went seamlessly. I have never had guests compliment the staff and the menu as much as they did with St. Germain! As the event coordinator, I appreciated that Ceecho, Donal, and Johnny checked in with me throughout the event, quickly adjusted to the schedule changes, and were efficient and helpful throughout the set up and tear down process. I highly recommend Saint Germain for our next catered function in DC! We will be a repeat customer for sure!

Their menu is expansive and can accommodate all types of dietary restrictions--we had dairy free, vegan, pollotarian, and gluten free folks, and they all enjoyed the food. Set up and tear down were efficient, and the staff was so friendly, polite, and professional! And the food! I over ordered, so the whole library staff got to eat, too. Everyone raved about the buffets (we did a "cookout" style, a "fajita bar" style, and we had breakfast for three days). Everything was cooked well and seasoned well! The fresh fruit was delicious! Can I recommend them any more than I have? If I'm ever in the DC/DMV area again for an event, I will definitely give them a call.

The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of flavorful options that truly pleased the crowd. The presentation and overall setup were beautiful and added an elegant touch to the event. The pricing was very reasonable, and he even offered a wonderful tasting prior to signing the contract, which gave us great confidence in our decision. I highly recommend A Family Affair Catering for any special occasion.

Dinner was for 25 + people and there was barely enough food for 12. Not that this mattered, as EVERYTHING was inedible and there were no plates, cutlery or napkins provided. I take that back, the store brought $2.00 (price still on) cornbread and $16.00 cake were the ONLY items edible. The Mac and Cheese was dry and bland. I will give them credit for it being both overcooked and undercooked all in the same batch. I'm still trying to make sense of that! The only adjective that even remotely describes this Mac and Cheese is "disrespectful". Like, seriously, the disrespect was 10/10. The chicken was undercooked and bland. How do you make jerk chicken bland and soggy? I'm actually curious. The "blackened" salmon was overcooked yet not blackened, creating another "make it make sense" moment. I immediately spat out the greens. They were undercooked, not under-seasoned but literally "not seasoned". Wait, I take that back too, if you count the dirt and grit as seasoning. They should be ashamed of themselves for ripping people off. Pictures don't lie. The fact that they were sent pictures and still stood behind their product tells you all you need to know. Please, please, PLEASE do not let these people ruin your event and more importantly your special moments and memories. There are so many other respectable and legitimate Black-owned catering companies i.e. Ohhs and Ahhs, Henry's, Hitching Post.

Corcoran handled both our catering and all of our rentals--and absolutely nailed it. The food was exceptional. We're still getting texts from guests saying it was the best wedding food they've ever had--some even said it was the best event food, period! We got compliments on everything from the starter salad to the passed hors d'oeuvres. I wasn't initially excited about the beer corn fritter, but it ended up being my favorite bite of the night. But what truly set our experience apart was working with Jordan. I honestly can't say enough positive things about her. She became like a second planner for us--offering expert guidance, always responding quickly and thoroughly, and saying yes to every single request with grace and positivity. I had so much trust in her judgment, and she never steered us wrong. One week before the wedding, in a moment of pre-wedding panic, I decided I wanted to change our napkin fold. Jordan didn't just talk me through options--she went to the showroom, set up our exact table settings, tested multiple options, photoshopped in our decor, and sent over a mini lookbook... only for me to choose the original one. That's the level of above-and-beyond care she provided. On the day of the wedding, I shared a special moment with Jordan about my grandmother, who had passed before the wedding. She held my hand, we shed a tear together, and I felt so supported and comforted by her presence. It meant the world to me. We will absolutely be recommending Corcoran--and specifically Jordan--to all of our friends getting married, as well as to colleagues planning corporate events at 101 Constitution, where we got married. If you're looking for a caterer and rental partner who will care deeply about your event and help bring your vision to life, choose Corcoran. And request Jordan!

About my preferences, after I said our budget, etc. it was so strange. It's fine to have a bubbly personality but this was off putting. Honestly one of the most unprofessional, ill informed customer client interactions. I felt like there were a lot of things not aligning for what I'd expect a professional caterer to know. She didn't even send a quote after our phone call. So while we wouldn't have gone with Zesty Gourmet anyway, the business doesn't seem to care much for clients anyway. I'm not going to remind a company that I want to pay thousands of dollars to them. Honestly just an entirely confusing, strange, and off putting experience end-to-end.

She patiently answered all of my questions and made sure my order was correct. I have never ordered from a catering service and I was nervous! I was so impressed that I am doing the happy dance. The brisket was tasty and they even sent over extra gravy for the brisket. The sweet potato and carrot side dish was mouth watering. Even on zoom, my family and I were trying to figure out the ingredients. It was delicious. The chicken soup had large pieces of chicken and carrots. They gave us a large number of matzah balls for the soup too. The chocolate torte was fabulous. I couldn't help from licking the knife as I portioned it out for my family. The delivery was excellent and the delivery person was wearing gloves and a mask. We were missing one item and I called Karla, she had someone deliver it within minutes. The portions were plentiful for 10 people and the price was reasonable. I highly recommend La Prima catering and I won't hesitate to order from them again. I'd totally be fine with a nice prime rib one year... but you have to have brisket. Your meal also must include no leavaners... rising agents... yeast... anything like that. Then you have to have *Charoset (basically an apple and nut salad) *Horseradish *It'd be weird to not have gefilte fish *100 other things Basically it's a pain in the neck. So just the thought of trying to shop and get all of these things in the current climate was mind numbing. La Prima Catering to the rescue! Luckily I am part of a group where local restaurants and food services are posting info and I caught wind that La Prima was taking last minute orders for Passover. The price was right, the meal sounded delicious, and the woman Karla even reached out to me after I asked a question on the message board. It was clear she was responsive. Let me tell you! They really killed it, to be honest. Everything we got was fantastic. The brisket was super tender and they included a TON of extra gravy like my mother had asked for. The matzo ball soup was quite good with tons of fresh hand shredded chicken pieces. The tzimmes (which I had never had before) was indulgent with a rich depth of sweetness that in itself deserves 5 stars. The meal also included charoset (I prefer mine with a little more wine flavor). And the flourless chocolate cake which was chocolate decadence in every way shape and form. It was rich, and chocolatey, and it was honestly a mousse like consistency which I didn't mind one bit. It was the perfect finish. Me and my fam did our first virtual Passover like many of us around the nation and it went really well. I might honestly lobby for us to just order from La Prima next year to save one of us the hassle. I would be totally fine making like one thing (maybe a potato kugel) and getting the rest from La Prima. It was that good. Thank you La Prima. Thank you for saving our Passover. Thank you for dealing with my Jewish mother (she's the one that ordered). And thank you for putting a lot of love into that food you sent. It really made our holiday.

I'll start at the start--from the first email we sent to B. Lin Catering--they were responsive, helpful, and really thoughtful about our questions. That is no small thing, because we threw a lot of questions at them in that first email, and throughout the process, I mean a lot! But every time, Rena worked through our list in a timely way and responded to every single one of our questions with answers that were direct, and helpful. She was not just ready with answers to every question, but happy to provide additional suggestions and information from her experience, and proactive about raising and resolving issues in the plans we suggested we had not considered yet. B. Lin was one of our favorite vendors we worked with--and one of the most essential when it came to actually making the event we dreamed about a reality. From reviewing rental tablecloths and dishware, to suggesting tweaks to our floorplan and timeline, to setting everything out on the big day--and more. They also were crucial to the final clean up, and helping us ensure we got our venue security deposit back! The venue manager actually told us the place " was left in exceptional condition." OH and did I mention we were able to plan with them so effectively we flipped the room ahead of schedule? All night the B. Lin team was like clockwork. (but clockwork that knew how to adjust to the other ups and downs of the day around them!) And that's just about how helpful, detailed, and responsive they were to work with. I know what you're thinking--BUT WHAT ABOUT THE FOOD? The food was delicious. I can't really do it justice so you will just have to try it yourself. My only regret is we couldn't serve everything we sampled, because it was all so delicious! Star players include the buffalo chicken wonton, moneybag dumpling, and pork bao buns which were all HUGE hits during the cocktail hour. For dinner we landed on a stir-fry buffet, because it was not only delicious but gave us a lot of flexibility to for guests with dietary restrictions. I will admit now, my mother was initial skeptical of that we weren't going with the "steak or chicken" plate that was standard. But we knew we wanted something different, and tasty. In the end, she was completely converted by the end of the night. She may have told me how great the dinner was more than anyone else! But seriously, everyone loved the food, everyone! By the end of the night, me and my wife received a LOT of compliments--that really should be directed to B. Lin catering, Rena, and the rest of the team the helped us. So this is my attempt to pass along those many praises, as well as a few of my own. If you need great catering--looking no further!
