Jericho is wonderful. They have a great selection of plants, trees, herbs, veggies, flowers - all kinds of beautiful things. There is a really cool greenhouse with fun non-desert plants so you can have different things inside your house that you might not be able to have in your yard. And they have extremely knowledgeable staff folks all over the place ready to answer your questions, no matter how weird or arcane they may be. I once took a twig from a mystery plant in my yard and brought a picture of the entire thing on my iPad, and they identified it for me and told me how to care for it. Rock on! In addition to all the plant life, they have great pottery for sale - all shapes and sizes, and frequently on sale. Beautiful stuff, and pretty darn good variety. They also sell lots of other cool stuff - watering cans, statues, metal art, those weird reflecting balls people put outside, birdbaths, rain barrels, outdoor wall art, etc. In the store inside they have endless gardening supplies and all kinds of stuff I would not begin to mess with (my man does all the gardening), and lots of really cool hanging things to decorate with. They were very helpful when we wanted to buy dirt and composted material, and helped us figure out the right stuff to buy for the vegetable garden. We also bought our Christmas tree there last year - a little bit of sticker shock, being our first Christmas in New Mexico, but they had gorgeous trees! The folks there are always friendly, helpful and just plain nice. never had a less than happy experience there, and I always recommend it when someone asks me where to go for plant-related tasks. My wife and I stopped by and were really impressed with the place. Lots of different options and a good selection of some cacti we don't see often (big euphorbias). And a really huge elk-horn fern! Actually, we didn't end up buying anything since we were really just there to peruse. But we did end up talking to the staff for a while. Just shooting the breeze. My husband and I were shopping for plants at Jericho's on Friday afternoon. We have been waiting for them to open so we could landscape our yard. Well we picked up a few flower plants to start with. We brought them home, made sure they were watered and put them outside till we could plant them today. 2 days later and one plant did not make it, the second identical plant is doing fine. My husband brings the plant back to Jericho's, he gets there around 10.45. The gates are closed and their answering machine says that they open at 10 am. Nobody is ready. Not a good sign for business. Mike sits and waits a few more minutes and at 11 am they open the gates. He brings the plant in to show them and he wants to exchange it. He is told that there are no refunds or exchanges on annuals. Now this little 4 flower container was not cheap, so now Mike is upset. There are no signs around the place saying that there are not returns or exchanges. We have been loyal customers of Jericho's since we moved here 18 years. Well they just lost a valuable customer and a very unhappy one. I will never shop there again and tell everyone what happened to us. Well Mike left and went to Lowes on Paseo del Norte and got the same plant and saved over $2.00. I know times are tough and being self employed today is not great, 4 of my clients have been badly affected by the closures and two of my clients have closed shop. Anyone in business knows how hard it is to get new clients and it costs more to get new ones than to keep the ones you have. So now I have to find another nursery. I went to Jericho to get some plants and a metal cactus. The man in the metal art department kept quoting me prices but then saying but in these hard times he would offer half off. I bought a cactus he said it was $200 item but he would sell it to me for $90. I got home and discovered the price tag on the bottom for $89. Felt 'taken'. The average price of those cactus online is $100 but I was trying to buy local. I'm not upset by the money but I am upset by the 'sell tactic' used by the man in the metal art area. read more

I love this place! They have the most knowledgeable staff which are so kind and helpful. This is our annual stop for a Christmas tree! The trees are beautiful and last way past Christmas. Their helpful hint of using warm water to extend the life of the cut tree(I know somewhat of an oxy Moron) but it keeps the cut tree moist! The ornaments and poinsettia come in gorgeous colors! We came here from out of town looking for a particular tree. Although they didn't have it, we managed to find many other beautiful trees and plants. We visited a few other nurseries while we were in town, however I have to say that the staff at Jericho were by far the friendliest of any. They seemed to welcome questions and were glad to take you to anything you asked about. There was a gentleman who helped us both times we were there names Gary and we could not asked for a more polite, knowledgeable and seemingly appreciative employee. Great choice in nurseries. We moved here from Ohio in September of 2018. Our back yard was nothing but dirt and weeds. Jericho helped us design a great layout of pathways and special areas, including a fire-pit space, and a horse-shoe-pit and corn-hole pads. We put in over 70 flowers, bushes, and trees, and they allowed me to do the smaller ones to keep the cost down. The back yard looks amazing. People are wowed when they visit. Rick, the owner, has been very helpful and gracious in making a few changes and improvements this spring. Our experience has been excellent and we highly recommend them. read more

Two years ago was our last visit. We had purchased about six Jupiter's Beards. Turns out after planting and care, they were not the same variety. We called to let them know these plants were struggling and they gave us a wait see. We did but most of them died. We were out of money but they are out of potential repeat customers. read more

Please take your time to read this if you plan on working at Jericho Nursery and are a female... Last year I was hired by Rick to work at Jericho Nursery. I was a senior in high school and 17 years old at the time. I wanted the job because I knew I wanted to pursue Botany in college after graduating high school. I enjoyed the job at first...but after a few weeks I noticed my female coworkers/ managers who were around 30 years old started to be very rude and impatient with me. I would cry in the bathroom at work sometimes because of how they would talk to and treat me. After working there for a little over a month the owner Rick would say things to me that no 17 year old girl would want to hear. I would go in my car and cry and wonder what I could do to stop the sexual harassment, but at the time I was too afraid and ashamed to say anything. I felt as if I couldn't do anything because he was the owner. I remember one day so vividly, Rick had asked me persistently throughout the day, even in front of my coworkers, what color my panties were. After that day I would stop responding to Rick even when he would talk to me at work. I believe he eventually noticed that his comments made me uncomfortable because he came up to me one day and said he knew he probably seems like a creepy old man to me... I believe this was his way of apologizing. I am telling my story because I don't want another young girl to work here and have the same experience I did. I realize now that I should have spoke up and told someone sooner, however if my story can prevent another girl from experiencing what I did.. Then I want it to be heard. read more

Stopped in here on a Wednesday midday. Not another car in the lot. No one came out to the yard to assist me, so I went into the store. Clerk talking to another empolyee. I was completely ignored. Had to interrupt to get their attention. Then directed out to the yard and further ignored. The yard is a maze, not well marked. Sale items had colored 8X11 written signs that were weathered. I was supposed to see them...really? Went back in for another attempt at assistance. More customers arrived and I was again told where to go but no one to show me or talk about the plants. Really lame, folks. Will not return to your nursery. read more

We bought a very expensive outdoor water fountain and a few trees from Jericho. Well all the trees died within 2 months of Jericho planting them in my yard. Then the fountain started leaking and cracked. When I approached the owner Rick, said there was nothing he could do and wouldn't refund or fix our issues !!! I will never return nor tell anyone to go to Jericho, save your money and go to the big box stores, at least U will get your money back !! read more

Poor customer service and the owner doesn't keep his employees promises. I purchased 2 Washingtonia filifera trees. The manager in August of 2020 promised me I had a 1 year warranty. I spoke to the manager to confirm this due to buying the 2 trees so late in the year. Long story short the trees did not last through the winter so I took my receipt to the nursery in April 2021 (8 months after planting them). The owner was there and didn't care. He said they couldn't warranty them because he would be out of business if he did. I told him I have the receipt and paperwork from the manager advising me of the 1 year warranty and he again refused to warranty them. I informed the manager he needed to ensure his employees are fully aware that he will not warranty them so they are not lying to the customer. Unfortunately, I will no longer do business with this small business owner. I was going to purchase 42 Evergreens from this business. If he doesn't care about customer service and holding true to his employees promises then I will take my business elsewhere. Stay informed and shop wisely. There are plenty of nurseries around and this one doesn't care about the business. read more

I really appreciate the staff at Jericho nursery on Osuna. I always get great advice and attention. Amanda helped me last weekend and she patiently explained and helped me with the search for a tree. It took probably close to an hour as we looked at everything! I also know that Jericho stands behind the health of their plants and will gladly refund if the plant fails to meet expectations health wise. Nice local place to buy plants. Very busy when I went so in about 20 minutes there, I wasn't asked if I needed help. The prices aren't as high as you might think for a small shop like this, and making it more affordable to shop local is always a plus! I will revisit when I have a balcony project. read more

I went to Jericho for help with a landscaping project. Jack helped me select the right plants for my environment and my situation (I planned to sell the house in the fall/winter -- none of the flowering plants I'd considered would look good by the time the house went on the market!). I love buying local...I do it first When it's planting season I always go early to get the best variety of basil, thyme, and all my herbs. I found all the staff helpful, knowable and quick to assist me in getting the best plant and keeping them alive till the frost passes and I could get them into the ground. I was excited to do this. I've done this for several years previous years but had purchased my plants at the box stores and this year I purchased from Jericho. After getting them into the ground, they struggled...they withered, and did not take. I was devastated. If this had only been a few plants, I would have just moved on, but I had purchased around $60-$70 worth of plants. When I called them to ask what they were willing to do to help, I was shocked to find out they do a warranty guarantee where if the plant dies they will replace it!!! She said she would "help" me out if I brought the plants back and bought MORE plants...which I'm going to have to do anyway...but I think now, I'm going to the box store where I will have the guarantee if they die they will be replaced...I'm dropping ALOT of money here. I'm disappointed that they did not do more for a customer who spent a good amount of money, or even a customer who may have not!!! You need to feel like you are being taken care of and not just a bother when you call with a problem which is what I felt like when I called. She dismissed me, like the plant died, my fault, my problem, but more, get over it lady!!! I doubt I will shop here for any more products which I have before, I have purchased gifts for friends who had purchased homes, or open houses, etc...but I seriously doubt I will spend my time or money somewhere where I am a second thought. WOMEN AND SENIORS WATCH OUT I went to Jericho to purchase a fountain for my yard and ended up feeling I was duped! When I entered the business I mentioned that I'd received their newsletter notice of a sale on fountains; all three employees were in the office and responded in a friendly fashion, they proceeded to help me choose a fountain but then when it was time to check out I was told that the discount was 20% less than I thought I remembered it was. I was tired it was a hot summer afternoon and I didn't argue the point. The next day I came back to pick up the fountain with the help of my son and boyfriend. After unloading the fountain we discovered that the pump had not been sent along with the fountain, so before heading back to pick up the fountain I went online to see what else they had on line thinking I might purchase something else while I was there. Thats when I saw again that the fountains were advertised as 50% off. So, when I got back to Jericho on Alameda and 2nd I asked to talk to the gentleman who'd rung me out and been generally helpful the day before and explained the situation. He said he couldn't help me, despite there being a difference of over $100.00 between the price I was charged and the price the fountain should have cost. He was very firm that at the time of purchase a coupon must be presented. I explained that I had mentioned the ad and questioned the percent of the discount at the time of check out. He told me he was unaware of the details of the sale (despite the fact that I'm pretty sure this guy was the local manager). So needless to say I told him that I'd be returning the fountain and taking my business elsewhere. I FEEL THAT THEIRR FRIENDLY DEMEANOR WAS INSINCERE AND THAT THEIR JOKING AROUND MAY HAVE BEEN MEANT TO DISARM ME AS A WOMAN RAPIDLY APPROACHING MY SENIOR YEARS. BUYER BEWARE. I'll be taking my business to Plants of the Southwest a little local nursery north of Alameda on 4th street. read more

Great variety of plants and flowers, very friendly staff. Wish they'd had more cacti, but otherwise they're pretty well stocked.

I wish I could give them a 5. Every time I've gone to Jerichos the staff has been friendly and very educated. They have a wide variety of trees and plants, and I usually find they have products in stock when other stores are sold out. I've purchased several trees from Jerichos and I've only had about a 50% success rate. I would put the blame on myself, but every tree I've bought from the Home Depot has lived. I know it's sad to compare a hardware store to a real nursery, but I have to. Home Depots staff is not knowledgeable at all, you have to do all of your research before buying. Their stock is also inconsistent. And a few trees I've purchased from them were mislabeled. But an example, I purchased a cherry tree from Jericho's for $150 it died. The same variety was available at Home Depot, it was $69.99, larger in size and came with a one year warranty. I also purchased a small peach tree for about $70 it's doing ok. I purchased the same species for $39.99 at the depot it was 1 1/2 times larger and of course is producing larger fruit all over the tree. The tree from Jericho is only producing fruit on the top. The price difference and the warranty is to big to ignore, I won't be going back to buy trees from Jericho in the future. I can see myself there for flowers, they have a good selection and reasonable prices. read more

We stopped by Jericho during their 10th annual celebration. We waited for this sale because they stated it was "Customer Appreciation" and they had a big sale. We were looking for 3 large shade trees, but the salesman was so rude and condescending that we ended up purchasing our trees from another nursery. At a better price. We did show up about an hour before closing but the salesman made us feel like it was such an inconvenience to help us we won't return. read more
