The food... so close to being a fabulous bistro. The shrimp toast wast good... except the toast was overly salted with large crystals. The steak was sent out medium to medium as requested but was gristlely and lean. A heavy hit of pepper helped. The whiskey sauce was bit sweet for my liking but a great sauce. The creamy potatoes were awesome. The molten chocolate cake tasted flat. And the soft serve machine was not working. So it was served with whipped cream sprayed awkwardly into a glass. The chocol is the suave tasted like it was right from a squeeze bottle. A good affordable steakhouse in a very convenient location near the train station and T-Centralen as well. Their prices are affordable for Sweden. I ordered the beef tenderloin with fries and bearnaise sauce which is a very common combination in Sweden. The steak was cooked as I had requested. There wasn't much seasoning of the steak though. I also tried the Belgian Chocolate Cake as dessert. It was ok, good chocolate flavor but I would try something different next time. read more

'Ello chaps! Jensen's Bofhus is a Danish steakhouse with locations across Denmark and Sweden. The menu includes a variety of steaks, burgers, and other fare. Americans will notice a dramatically different pace of service. It's extremely slower paced. It appears to be a well maintained restaurant and was quite busy for a weekend night, but the wait wasn't too bad. The food itself is quite bland and underwhelming when it comes to portion, and most importantly, taste. It wasn't the worst restaurant, food wise, we had in Stockholm, but far from great. read more

I didn't have any high expectations due to the mediocre reviews here - which can sometimes be a good thing. The ambience was surprisingly inviting, and the prices in the menu were also surprisingly low. But it took long time to get water, and it was only possible to get the two cheapest wines by the glass. When we asked the waitress about the bottles costing 300 SEK, she said that they sell very little of all those wines so it wasn't possible to get only a glass. I guess only really cheap, poor, or incompetent people when it comes to wine go here? We ordered a bottle of Ripasso, which our waitress didn't know anything about, and when she delivered the bottle it turned out that she had never opened a wine bottle before. I asked for my flank steak to be cooked red, but it wasn't very enjoyable. Unless you like to chew a lot. The potato gratin wasn't much to write home about (and quite small), and I was disappointed of their "favorite sauce". I should have ordered the pepper sauce instead - that was quite delicious. The restrooms/washrooms/bathrooms/toilets (pick your favorite word!) were clean and fresh at least! If I am in need of a steak, I'll probably go somewhere else next time. After an overnight flight with connections in Copenhagen, we arrived at midday on a Saturday and started searching for a place to eat lunch. After walking near the Central train station for about 30 minutes, this was the only restaurant we found with any customers. We both ordered off the lunch menu and had steak. Both steaks were ordered medium; one was fine and the other tough. Sauces were good and so were the Potatoe side dishes. The McDonald's of steak houses, with inexperienced teenaged waiters, semi-tender meat and supposedly fried potatoes that are really deep fried. Despite the open flames, this is not a place for a romantic dinner. With the all-you-can-eat ice cream buffé and the all-you-can-eat potato & sauce deals, it's more like a family restaurant - and you should expect a corresponding noise level. I ordered my meat red - and it came out red! Several other meat restaurants (including Svartengrens and the upscale AG) have messed that up. This is, of course, a minus for the other restaurants and not a plus for Jensen's (since giving the customer what he/she orders should be expected.) Jensen's is your typical franchise/chain restaurant. The concept is focusing on meat and being a family oriented restaurant. The main issue is that the quality of the food is not very good. To be a restaurant focused on meat the quality of the meat used has to be better. The steak I had was just not of the best quality. One friend had the chicken and that should be avoided at all costs (felt like eating a sponge). The ribs were however decent so if you have to eat here go for those. Kids seem to love the place so it may be a good option for families with kids but if you do not have kids the fact that the place is popular with families with kids does not really add to the experience. Service is never unfriendly but it is not really helpful and friendly either and the staff are certainly not fast. We had long waits and they were not really stopping by the table to ask if we wanted more drinks either. For people who wish to eat good meat there are however many better options in Stockholm. A few suggestions would be AG, Djuret, Grill, Svartengrens and Vassa Eggen. read more

I have seen this chain before in Sweden and Denmark, but this was the first time I stepped into one of the restaurants. I was promptly greeted, and I then proceeded to take my party of one and luggage past a few tables to the one chosen for me. The waitress hurried away after placing the menu on the table leaving me to sort my things on the window. There was plenty of room for a traveler, and it must be convenient for families with small children as well. I quickly checked the menu and joined the free WiFi. The waitress was then right back with me having taken orders from a couple other tables. The lunch menu had some options that seemed outright cheap and my steak of choice wasn't that expensive either. There were also some slightly pricier dishes mainly for the dinner crowd. A simple setup for sure. The beer list however was a complete joke for a steakhouse (they often are), and I ordered the only option with some taste (bottle of Brooklyn IPA). The waitress brought me my beer (did not pour it, which is fine by me but some may feel cheated out of their precious service when that happens!). Very soon the rest of my order also arrived. The portion was perhaps a bit on the small side, but I only had a side of fries. Go with at least two sides and a bigger steak if you are very hungry. The quality of food is, of course, critical. I can see why some would be disappointed. I found the meat quality pretty average. And the parsley butter definitely sounded nicer and fresher than how it actually tasted, but it was perhaps a bit of a gamble to begin with. Having finished my dish, I was overall quite happy with it. Not a great culinary experience, but good food anyway. If the restaurant concept is affordable steaks, I think they delivered here just fine. You get your money's worth. Complaints about slow service are probably valid. It's not a small restaurant, and I can see that busy moments may be hard due to understaffing or kitchen problems. Before the peak lunch time, the restaurant was anyway fairly empty and service was very efficient throughout my stay. Very friendly, too. I think it took me only about 20 minutes to finish my lunch after placing the order. I was out the door in less than 30 minutes, although I tried to take advantage of the free WiFi and download some 400MB of new map data. The only slow thing here was that connection. Location is great, just outside city/central station but overall is more of a simpel establishment, with easier kind of steak food, burgers and some desserts. Nothing extraordinaire and the similar dishes is served both for lunch and dinner. Is a great place to just escape the city pulse for a while to get some tucker. It also works as a meeting spot when teaming up with friends for city center activities and Kicking off with a beer and some nachos. I would live to see some more professionalism from the Waiters, or that the off duty straff dont get to stay and eat while still chatting to their still on the clock collegues. Still, for just a Quick bite it serves the Purpose just fine, and location is a big plus!! Not cheap, not expensive but is better suited for lunch (same food, half price or less). Tourist trap. Should have read the reviews before I came here. Service was painfully slow and when the food came the order was wrong. They charged us for everything here from cups of water to ketchup to dip fries in. Our serve argued with us even after he realized he made a mistake with the order. About 10 minutes later we see him leave the restaurant with his girlfriend without even giving us our check. When the food did come the portion sizes were small and bland. Spend your money elsewhere. Spur of the moment decision to visit and although busy we were able to sit outside as we had our 2 dogs with us. Seating outside is cramped and pretty noisy as it is on a main road in Stockholm. Steaks were awesome and cooked to the desired degree that we requested. Service was good and on standard with European style. As labour is expensive I have found that service might be a bit slow but who cares as when you go out to eat then you should be relaxing. I don't know how this place calls itself a steakhouse. We went here because our hotel was nearby, and we were starving after arriving there. The outside drew us in because it seemed like a decent chain restaurant like a BJ's or something that would be pretty safe -- wrong. This had to be one of the worst eating experiences I've ever had. They were out of many things on the menu (who runs out of VEGETABLES?!), our waitress disappeared, we had to take our own place settings from other tables because nobody came to our table. Other unfortunate people at other tables were looking around upset as well. Then came the food...terrible. My chicken breast tasted like it had been frozen and thawed repeatedly and left under a heat lamp. Their mozzarella cheese sticks tasted freezer burnt. The "salad bar" was a joke, I was afraid to eat from it but there was nothing else. The thing that topped off everything was that you couldn't order a steak done "medium rare", only well done, medium, and rare because the waitress had to order it through a handheld device that didn't have a "medium rare" option to choose. She was so embarrassed the whole time, no wonder she disappeared. And our food took like 30 mins to come out. This place is scary, please please try to avoid! Was taking my son out for his 16 year birthday, had walked in and made reservation day prior for 12 persons asked for a nice table, arrived the day after at 5 PM with the hole family, got a table next to the kitchen, waiter showed up 20 minutes later after I had personally walked up to the desk, first order of drinks they got 70% of the order correct, starters came in and had got mixed up....by now my son's birthday had gone from have great evening with family to make it as good as it can get evening. Main Courses came, one was wrong and 2 had to be sent back out to the kitchen as they where cold and fillet was so tough that it was not eatable..these where received back from the kitchen when the deserts where making their way to the table. Got a table by the kitchen and with my great surprise and disappointment I discovered a process which is just shocking. There is no grill as you would expect in a steakhouse, there are 2 belt ovens where the meat -pre-cooked- is warmed up or finishes to be cooked. Wow! I ordered a lava cake for dessert which was supposed to arrive with a strawberry coulis and soft ice cream. The cake was barely warm, I mean really barely more than room temperature and the coulis and extra sweet industrial strawberry jelly.
