We went straight to a table with a view of the golf course, so I didn't get a chance to see the rest of restaurant. The seating is comfortable and room was nice and quiet. Staff: the waitress was very pleasant and personable. It was nice to have a friendly waitress. She was very attentive and ensured our drinks were always promptly refreshed (without even asking) and asked if we needed additional items. Great job! Food: we were a table of 5, so I don't remember everyone's meals, but I'll go over what I ate. Chips and salsa were brought out. The chips are made on site and were very good, so good we had to have a second basket. The salsa is perfect and tastes like the same kind I purchase for home use. We ordered a sampler appetizer which included chicken quesadillas (two), mozzarella sticks (six), and loaded potato skins. My girlfriend and mom loved the quesadillas. The mozzarella sticks were nothing special and the loaded potato skins tasted over cooked. I ordered the sirloin (cooked medium) with parsley red potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly and the potatoes were really good. I was most impressed with the corn I received because it was cooked perfectly; it was still crisp and fresh instead of mushy. I cleaned my plate then grabbed one of the dinner rolls brought earlier. I do like the dinner rolls they have; they remind me of the ones I buy for personal cooking. Overall, this is a nice restaurant with a great staff and good food. I would definitely go there again.

I like Golden Corral because, for their breakfast, they have an eggs to order station but, unfortunately, the entire time we were there, no one was manning that station. Scrambled eggs are on the buffet, but they are usually "bag eggs" -- not really scrambled in a skillet. They have grits which is a plus for me -- these had an odd taste and I suspect someone added sugar to the pot. The ham was very tasty. The biscuits were warm, but hard. Pancakes were great. Our server was wonderful, keeping our cups and glasses full. It was close to the lunch change over time, so there were plenty of food options. We would probably stop again when traveling, given the very limited breakfast options in Effingham.

I have not been since it changed hands, so my review does not reflect the new restaurant and new ownership. I am unaware of what the new name is. I had to actually add this restaurant and upload pictures and wait for yelp to confirm it before I could do a review. Then I forgot to do one. Small little café for breakfast and lunch. I've had the biscuits and gravy from there before as carry out and I was never one to like biscuits and gravy, but they changed my mind. Absolutely delicious when I had them. We went about 10:30 to have a late breakfast. I ordered eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns. Everything was cooked to order and tasted pretty good. The coffee was great. The only thing lacking that day was the service. There were only two other tables seated when we came in. We had to wait till the staff were done doing talking and doing prep at the counter before someone even acknowledged that we had sat down. It was long enough that we were about to leave. Everyone has an off day, so I am going to simply star this for the most part from the food.
