You truly will feel as if you left the sock hop and stopped by the local soda shop for a bite. I'll give you a heads up, the outside is junky with a lot of weird stuff. The place was packed midday on a Saturday afternoon. My husband decided on the BBQ Shoe and I got the Bourbon Chicken sandwich. My sandwich was really good with a grilled chicken breast, bacon and pineapple with a side of house chips. Very good flavors and very messy. My husband went with the shoe--maybe heart attack. This one had a grilled cheese sandwich at its base, then pulled pork, pickles, onion straws, cheese sauce and tater tots! It was beautiful and huge. One thing you need to know about Central Illinois where we live. Horseshoes were founded here. We have eaten a lot of them. This one at the Salty Farmer was exceptional.
