I came upon Jenny's Bakery by chance. It's a small place and packed into a small strip of restaurants. Jenny's is a bakery where you pick out sweets on the go, it's not a cafe. There's cakes, cookies, brownies, macarons, cakesicles, petit fours, lemon bars, truffles, scones, coconut macaroons, hot cocoa bombs, sweet rolls and more! The owner is nice and seems to love her job. I heard their customized cakes are wonderful, maybe I'll order one from here someday. Jenny's even make sweets for certain holidays of the year. I believe Jenny's Bakery use real ingredients in their baked goods, and the prices for their current inventory of the day aren't bad. Though, I'm sure their customized cakes are very expensive. Minor downside: They only make one kind of petit four. read more

We spent WAY too much time driving around trying different cookies at many bakeries over the last couple of months before we ordered for this holiday season (I know, what a horrible task). We visited well known bakeries to little Mom & Pop shops, from all around the Houston area. In the end, Jenny's were our favorite hands down. Once again the Christmas cookies were a crowd favorite. 0/10. Terrible service, & RUDE!!!! When taking orders on the phone this business has zero costumer service. They do not make the cakes the right way and similar to the reference photo at all! This happened on 2 different occasions. The first time was for my grandmothers birthday. I didn't ask for it to be fixed but I was very disappointed in the lack of detail. The next time I ordered from Jenny's, I ordered a VERY SIMPLE white cake with white writing. Over the phone I SPECIFICALLY said I did not want the writing to be in cursive just regular script. When I picked up the cake not only was it in cursive but it was slanted and crooked. I kindly asked if they would be able to fix the writing from cursive to regular script and she refused. She said I did not ask for that and instead of calling to place my order I should've drove there because she cannot understand me on the phone. My coworkers bought a baby shower cake (white cake, butter cream frosting, strawberry filling) from here and I was pleasantly surprised that it was very tasty and not what I had expected from what my coworkers usually buy (cheap-tasting Kroger cakes). So I got excited and went there to try their cupcakes ('cuz it's so hard to find a good cupcake in the Clear Lake area). I bought 3 kinds of cupcakes($2.50/ea): red velvet, carrot, and italian cream. I was not happy. All 3 were a little dry and a little stale-tasting. I gave the rest to my fiance and he didn't like any of them either. Too bad. I was very disappointed. 2nd visit: The sand tarts were ehh....not that good, but at least her sand tarts are better than El Bolillo's. I'm not a baker, but my sand tarts taste way better. The pecan tart was not that good either. I was so disappointed. 3rd visit: I bought the strawberry cupcake with cream cheese icing and the almond cupcake with butter cream icing (both $2/ea). One of them was an almond and mocha cake for our wedding. The cake was moist and the flavor was very subtle, and the guests loved it. To my surprise, my wife had ordered me a grooms cake without me knowing. It was a great start to the wedding when she showed me it. Sat. July 23, 2022, I have been a customer of Jenny's for over 10 years. During the time Jenny had the only location on Nasa. 1st problem I did not know the policy had changed to pay when ordering -my mistake. 2pm the cake was to be picked up. I arrived and the cake was not made. Jenny's sister, who now makes the cakes at the Nasa location, advised me the cake had to be paid for in advance. No one called me to say, "the order was cancelled!" There were two other adults helping at this location! 2nd problem- Jenny's sister, angrily said, she would make the cake, I waited. She brought a white icing with purple writing- I did not like the way it looked. The purple color was a bit off and not a pretty cake. I hesitated and shared that I did not like the way the double layered cake looked. Even angrier, She took the cake in the back and re-icing the cake. When she brought out the cake a 2nd time, It was a very pretty cake. 3rd problem- when I took the cake to my party and I cut into the cake you could then see the thickness of the icing. I served it. The cake had so much icing, because the icing was double thick from covering up the purple. It was so sweet that it was not edible. Each person was scraping off the icing to eat the cake. A failure on double icing to cover up the original purple on the cake!! 4th problem- I called Monday morning to let Jenny's sister on Nasa who made the cake-know the problem. She was argumentative and denied there was a problem. She stated, "The recipe had not changed ." Yes, The cake was delicious but because it was double icing-it had to much frosting and was too sweet to eat! Which ruined the cake!! The problem fell on deaf ears and the lady was argumentative! She did not want to hear how I had an over icing cake! I called the 2nd location to talk to Jenny in Friendswood. Jenny was also very rude and argumentative. Nothing was resolved and both ladies could not listen to my complaint-double icing a cake to make it so sweet that it was not edible. Lesson learned! I should of walked out and picked up another cake elsewhere when it was not ready. Especially, after seeing the angry look on her face. After 10 years of ordering cakes I will no longer return to this establishment. Unfortunately, when an establishment grows and has another baker -not the original Jenny. It looses its customer friendliness! So sad! A longtime customer who has always loved their cakes is lost. A cake that has too much icing is not edible. I asked if I could speak with someone else and he informed me that he was the manager. I then asked who the owner was and he said Jenny, finally I said I would call the pearland location and he said "well you do that" and hung up. I called Pearland and am waiting for a call back from the manager, as much as I wanted to order from here I will take my business elsewhere. Very sad Customer Service. Ordered a cake for a Memorial Service with writing to match program. Had cake picked up by husband as the memorial was out of town and we were already out of town. He did not know it was to have writing. When the top layer started to slide off cake - he sent a photo and we noticed it did not have writing. Called to ask if we could get another one made and pick it up the next morning by someone local who was coming. We were told we needed to return the cake that was not right after they argued saying we did not order it with writing. After explaining the cake was 1.5 hours away and that was not possible they wanted to give us an $8 discount on a new one - and still have us return the one we paid $33 for! Spoke to the Manager who continued to argue - then the owner who in the end HUNG UP on us saying she did not care about Customer Service and that we could say anything we wanted on Social Media - she maintained that her cakes "taste good" and that is all the customers care about --- she was incredibly rude. When we finally got to where the cake was we discovered the bottom layer was higher on one side and lower on other - making the top layer slide off. We put the top layer back on several times and in a matter of hours the whole top layer slid off... Lost a customer that has been coming there for 7+ years and now the friends we all know will not be using Jenny's --- We will be going to "The Cake Lady" or HEB from now on... read more

I sent a picture and description of what I wanted exactly and how many people it was for and the type of event it was for. They quoted me a price that was competitive so I scheduled a tasting and fully expected to book with them. After picking the flavor, I was told I HAD to use fondant (which was false as the baker I went to is using buttercream). It was an attempt at an upsale. Then, they told me "I made a mistake in the quote! I didn't realize it was a wedding" The ONLY reason for the price to be switched on me was because of the occasion that I SPECIFICALLY stated was a wedding before receiving the original quote.
