Surgery Cancelled Day Of - $25K Lost, No Warning About Nicotine Test…read more I scheduled for surgery with Dr. Salemy, paying $25,000 in full. On the day of surgery, I was told the procedure was canceled due to a positive nicotine test--something I was never informed would be required on the day of surgery. I was left emotionally devastated and financially drained. No part of the surgery was performed, and the practice refused to return any of my payment. After speaking with the office on the day of the surgery when I was groggy from medications and then one less than 10 minute conversation, the office told me they would not be discussing with me any further my request for a refund or alternative to losing out on my 25k payment.

I also reduced my weight by eleven pounds in three months. Thank you Dr. Precht and patient care coordinator, Amanda, for contacting me regularly to check on my well being. Day of the procedure was smooth and easy. I got profuse apologies about any delays I experienced (always less than at the doctor, to be honest) and I felt very comforted by the fact that Dr. Precht considers the procedure complete when it's as perfect as possible, not when the clock says it's done. I got the same treatment in my procedure and I'm so delighted with the results. The attention to detail was amazing and my recovery was exactly as the team described. I even got a personal call at home to check on me. Will return if I ever need her again!

Dr. Shvidler is calm, kind, and patient. You can tell he really cares about his patients and their outcomes. He intently listens and takes into account your goals and wishes while still being realistic about what to expect. I did A LOT of research ahead of my septorhinoplasty and I felt confident Dr. Shvidler would be the best fit for my case. My new nose looks amazing! In addition to fixing my deviated septum, I made it clear I wanted natural results when it came to the cosmetic aspect with the goal of making my nose look more symmetrical -- Dr. Shvidler absolutely delivered. I would recommend him to anyone.

And while under I figured I could do some rhinoplasty to correct the shape of my nose. I looked at a few places, nervous because I've never had surgery before. After meeting Dr Schvindler, I knew this was the place. For me, I didn't want some sterile Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, I wanted a compassionate, warm place and a doctor who helps Vets, teaches, and specializes on face. So after a few months the day finally arrived! I had a 6am appointment and nervous, no idea how much pain I'll be in afterward, and thought about backing out. But I press forward, comforted by the amazing anesthesiologist whom made me laugh and stayed with me the whole time. After getting on the table, I fell asleep without even noticing I was about to and woke up basically on my way home. My wife putting me to bed I didn't feel tired and in fact felt energetic. The most profound thing is that I didn't even take the strong pain killers at any time afterwards. I felt no pain at any stage ever. Sure the first day is like a really bad cold, and you are super stuffy but each day gets better and in a week you are back to normal. After the first day the gel in your nose disintegrates. Nothing else goes in there. So a month later writing this, yes it will take a while for swelling subside but an amazing experience. I am so thankful for Dr S. If you are on the fence even, book an appointment and come here. I can't believe I suffered so many years with a crooked nose. Night and day

He then spent the next 4 weeks with a colonoscopy, endoscopy and finally a laparoscopy of my stomach. Did not do a ct or any other testing but after the laparoscopy announced I did in fact have Ovarian Cancer. It was then that all hell broke loose with my health but fortunate I was able to get to Houston, Texas to MD Anderson Cancer Center for treatment & then surgery. Again, Dr. Martinez is not an oncologist and never should have taken over my care as the original diagnosis from Spokane was cancer. And he certainly should not have done the laparoscopy surgery when cancer was suspected. Would never recommend anyone to Swedish Medical & Dr. Martinez after my experience. and the unfortunate delay in treatment of my cancer. Completely unacceptable on many levels and in fact frightening.

They offered a payment plan if I couldn't pay it all at once, which I declined. They seemed very transparent to me. It's a surgical center, that needs to cover costs, not a hospital with more flexibility in their overhead. It was very clean. Waiting room was limited capacity, and I was back in pre-op within 15 minutes. The nurses were so sweet and efficient, and what happened next was always clear. The longest wait in post op was about ten minutes. The OR nurse, anesthesiologist, and my doc all took turns coming through, then back I went. Surgery was the exact length that he expected, and the anesthetist was amazing with the meds. I was lucid within 20 minutes of arriving in post-op, and had no residual grogginess or nausea. That made me able to leave within hours of check in, and I was just amazed at their competence. I was sent home well educated and medicated, and had a clear plan of action going forward. This was all shared with my pickup contact too, so everyone was on the same page. I was delivered curbside to my ride home, and got a call today to check in on me and check my comfort. The sweetest staff. Highly recommended, and I'm not easy to please. Not cheap, even with insurance, but you get what you pay for. You want pudding? They will even bring you pudding. :D

They require you to be on-site or within 10 minutes for a procedure appoint that takes hours. For the cost, they should provide a stronger level of service. They have an intake form that asked how far you will be away, as if they are going to notify you with enough time to return. Then they tell you something different at the check in desk. Nonetheless on my first visit they actually told me someone would call for pickup with the 20 minutes I noted on the form. But when they did call I was reprimanded for being more than 10 minutes away. OMG!! So even though the policy sucks, not everyone is looped in. Lame. Figure it out, and figure out how to provide a decent level of service
