I went to see Dr Martinez as I just had an ultra sound confirm an inguinal hernia. I had been dealing with unpleasant symptoms and visited many drs offices with in the past two years to figure out what was going on with me. Please note - I had also gone to see another surgeon before Martinez, before I had the ultra sound test, who did not think I had a hernia. During my visit with Dr Martinez I told him that another surgeon did not think I had a hernia. I was thinking that Dr Martinez would go over my report and discuss my ultra sound results with me, however, he could not even confirm with me that he even read and looked at my exam results! He simply told me to cough and felt my belly a handful of times and also said he did not believe I had a hernia. I asked Dr Martinez why the radiologist then told me I had a hernia? He simply said that ultra sound pictures do not give accurate results and that I may consider going back to my GI doc. I was not convinced and a bit upset that he did not even take the time to go through the imaging and exam results with me that I asked him if he would at least talk to the radiologist. He flat out told me "NO" he would not consider talking to the radiologist. Then I asked him what the next step would be and he told me he would go over my diagnostic laparoscopy I had done over a year a go to see if there would be a need to do any more tests. I said ok and asked when I could expect to hear back from him. He told me that I should here from him by the end of the week(saw him Thursday am). That appt was over 3 weeks a go and I still have not heard back from Dr Martinez. Since my appt with Dr Martinez, I ended going back to the first surgeon I saw who initially said I did not have a hernia. After seeing my exam report and ultra sound images, he is now convinced I have a substantial hernia and I will be having surgery in 2 weeks! Dr Ryan Martinez is someone who not only drives up medial costs, but a poor excuse for a doctor. No heart, no time, no explanation, and immature. Rather than focusing on the patient he instead made comments such as "do you know how many patients come to see me telling me that they know their bodies?" "You should be happy that I am telling you that you do not have a hernia (actually the opposite, I am relieved that I have a hernia because it now explains all of my symptoms that have consumed my world that past 2 years!)" Everyday is a new day Dr Martinez. read more
