Update - 6/10/2026, 9:46 AM…read more Amber followed up with me again and called in an oral antibiotic, which was my preferred treatment option. I am hopeful that once the infection begins to clear, the pain and discomfort will also improve. I am grateful that she took the time to listen to my concerns, follow up, and help address this issue. Small acts of care and communication can make a significant difference in a patient's experience, especially when they are in pain. Because of this follow-up and willingness to help, I have updated my rating from 2 stars to 3 stars. ------------------------------------------------- At 9:17 AM on 6/10/2026, I received a follow-up call from Amber regarding my appointment. During our conversation, I shared the same concerns I had previously expressed--that I had not yet experienced any relief from the gel that was placed in my ear canal during my visit. Amber was professional and explained that relief may take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours. My review is intended to be honest, transparent, and reflective of my real-life experience.I have only been back in Dallas for three weeks and am still getting established with healthcare providers in the area. Like any patient, I came seeking help, relief, and guidance. My sincere hope is to be happy, healed, and thriving, and I look forward to feeling better soon. ----------------------------------------------- I want to start by saying that Amber was very professional and helpful. She worked with me to get an appointment scheduled for the very next day, which I truly appreciated. The medical assistant who checked me in was also kind, professional, and even offered me Tylenol because she could see that I was in pain. Unfortunately, my experience after seeing the doctor left me feeling disappointed. I came in with a swollen ear canal and severe throbbing pain. The doctor asked a few questions, applied some gel in my ear, and the visit felt very quick. I left feeling much the same as I did when I arrived, with little understanding of the treatment plan and no immediate relief from my symptoms. My appointment was at 1:15 PM, and as I write this at 5:26 PM, I am still experiencing significant pain. My blood pressure was elevated during the visit, which is unusual for me, but I believe it was due to the level of discomfort I was experiencing. I chose this provider because of the excellent reviews, so I was hopeful that I would receive more relief and guidance. At this point, I feel discouraged and uncertain about whether I should return for my follow-up appointment or seek care from another provider. I also feel that the $84 visit did not provide the value or relief I was expecting. I appreciate the professionalism of the staff, but I hope future patients with acute pain receive a more thorough evaluation, clearer communication, and a treatment plan that helps address their symptoms more effectively. One additional consideration for patients is that there is no courtesy parking available in parking lot 3.

ENT Specialist - DFW Metroplex - 3 Generations See Dr. Kirkham…read more My parents, my son, and I are all patients of Dr. Kirkham. I've read the other reviews and definitely understand the "long wait" frustration. Having seen him since the age of 16, I can attest that the wait is usually long. I can also explain why. This man will approach every appointment with a breadth of knowledge, experience, and expertise seldom found these days. He brings this to each appointment and that takes time. For him, I can guarantee you, it is not just a job. This is Dr. Kirkham's calling. He is not my friend and I'm not writing a review because I think he's a nice guy. I do think he's a nice guy, but I am writing a review because I have been in his office well over a dozen times in my 43 years. He approaches otolaryngological health comprehensively and holistically. Though he has known me for decades, he still asks me dozens of questions when trying to decipher an underlying cause for a symptom, just as he should (but, remember...this takes time). I was a professional opera singer for over 10 years and I trusted him 100% as a surgeon, when the time came to operate on my sinuses. I trust both of my parents and my toddler with him. I wrote to him when I was overseas, experiencing chronic laryngitis. These are just my experiences, but they have been echoed by friends and family. Peggy and the ladies at the desk do the best job they can. I have raised my voice in frustration a time or two only to be calmly reminded that Dr. Kirkham will "get to me as quickly as he can." In those moments, I remember the painstakingly individualized time he takes, I take a breath (usually through my mouth, if I'm visiting him it means I have some nasal issue...ha ha), and I sit down.

I was a new patient last month (July 2026) and showed up early to be greeted by a very young front…read moredesk check-in person who was aggressive and had an angry tone and asked me for two things, which, I had my license and medical card ready but she asked for license and something else like a permit and I had to ask her what that was, she said my medical card and I did not say this out loud but wanted to say "why didn't you just say medical card" but it was my first time here so I didn't say anything , figured she was having a bad day. Then when I got to see Dr. Walter Humann, who only took about 3 minutes time with me and when he asked me a question, I was cut off before finishing my sentence. He was late getting in to see me because I heard him with the patience next door talking for 15 minutes about the FIFA soccer games, I get it, I enjoyed the conversation too even though I was just eavesdropping through the paper thin walls and I figured he would be in a better mood than his front desk staff person was since the convo with his patient was going so well. He was quick, seemed like he didn't care, and I felt just like a number and from the looks of my bill, I just paid his car payment (or maybe half a car payment, depending on his car). The audiologist Dr. Kelly Briley doesn't smile like she does in her pics, I felt like she was also wishing I wasn't there. She was cold, distant, even though I really liked her office, it was warm and inviting and I told her this, no response. After I paid my bill, made a follow up appointment and I had to deal with the same front desk person that checked me in and as she was checking me out, I asked her if she had the correct pharmacy on file for the script that Dr. Humann ordered and she said she did, but how could she since I didn't put it on my paperwork so I asked her to read it out to me to confirm and of course, it was wrong, so I gave her the right address and she got mad, and said "that is what I said" and her voice sounded so angry and evil that I just grabbed my bag and got out of there. Then, I get a call from my pharmacy, the script was called in incorrectly and they were letting me know they contacted the Dr. Humann's office to get it fixed. That was good and I waited, and waited, two days later, my pharmacy told me to call them since they are not getting a response, so I called, left a voice mail and it has been 3 weeks, no response to the pharmacy or myself. I decided to just ask my PCP to fill the script since I would not ever be going back to this office again. Please find a better ENT office, if you can, because this office, does not care about the patient, only the very expensive fees they charge for less than 15 minutes of service.
