The most money hungry medical practice around. I used to have such a pleasant experience with Dr Sheth before she left. Apparently, in order to prescribe medication, Dr Butt needed to glance at my chart for 2 minutes, not speak to me at all (no telehealth visit) and charge me a co pay as if I had visited the office or spoken to her on the phone. I have never heard of a doctor submitting a claim and charging a copay for just calling in for a prescription- I will happily find another gynecologist as this is completely unacceptable. I will never go back and I certainly don't recommend anyone coming here for a visit. read more

I went to Dr Butt's office for the first time last year. I had such a great experience! She was very nice, and I honestly felt like she could be my long term doctor. Fast forward to a year later... I needed to cancel my upcoming appointment, so I called the office. I find out that I have a charge on my account. This was surprise to me because I shouldn't have any charges. I only came in for my annual wellness check and to get my bc refilled. So I asked what the charges were for. She charged me for a pregnancy test. (Not a big deal, even though I didn't realize she took a pregnancy test.. I don't even remember getting the results lol. But hey, it's been a year, I could have forgotten.) She also charged me for ASKING about stopping bc (a 30 sec conversation), and for HER asking ME about having a sickle cell trait (which I don't have). Honestly, at the time, these felt like regular questions to and from a new doctor / patient relationship... I didn't realize I was going to be charged $60 for it. (Keep in mind, the appointment did not last longer than a normal annual visit.) I write this review as a precaution to other new patients (especially if you are a transplant to the city). If you have any questions, or they ask you any questions during your annual visit, make sure it is clear that asking or answering them will result in a charge so you're not blindsided. For me $60 isn't a ton of money, but I feel uncomfortable with doctor offices that run lab tests they did not previously verbally discuss with you, and / or charges for things that most doctor offices do not charge for - again without first discussing it with me. I would feel a lot more comfortable if she had of said "We are starting to get into territories that I do not consider to be a part of your annual visit. You will typically owe a co-pay or $$ for it. Would you like to continue?" Then I would have the opportunity to say "no, I will just google 'I'm thinking about getting off bc, should I do anything other than start a pre-natal'", so that I could have gotten the same answer for free.. Dr. Butt is the first doctor I've ever had who seemed as concerned about my migraine frequency as I am. She immediately picked up on a correlation between my migraines and my birth control, and explained, at length, the different options I had to decrease the likelihood of having a future stroke, which my headaches were alluding to. This lead to my first IUD procedure, which she handled with ease, support, guidance, and so much professionalism. I feel lucky to have found an OBGYN who is as concerned, if not more, about my well-being as I am. I strongly recommend Dr. Butt. ***UPDATE*** I feel compelled to follow up on this review and share that, since my IUD insertion, I have experienced ZERO migraines. That's right -- ZERO. Looking back now, I can see there were health problems I experienced that, I believe, were linked 100% to my birth control. Why is this doctor on the UES?? She was added to the practice by Dr. Natalie Stevens (who is my ob/gyn) but when Dr. Stevens is busy, the staff gives you Dr. Butt. She seemed friendly enough but completely uninformed regarding birth control and ultrasounds. When a patient knows more than a doctor, please look elsewhere for your medical professional. She completely misdiagnosed a fibroid and and dismissed another concern I had. I would definitely not recommend her. If these doctors would like to continue in practice, they need to hire more competent, professional staff with HIPAA training and medical knowledge. read more

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Butt. She is ptient, kind and spends tons of time with you. She also never makes you wait so I know my appts start on time. I heard about her from another friend who had a baby under her care and highly recommended her as I do now to future mamas to be. She is young, personable and caring. Like that she's affiliated with Lennox Hill too. Highly highly recommend!!! Amy is also a great, helpful and kind office manager. Only non perfect thing to mention is the office itself can use some sprucing up, mainly in the exam rooms, would be great to have TVs on the wall that mirror the monitor so you're not stretching out your neck. read more

She's pretty amazing, as the other reviewers have said. She was my OB with my first child and so great that I decided to stick with her (despite moving further away) for my second child. Warm manner, listens to all your concerns and I definitely felt confident in my care and my baby's care with their practice. When Dr. Butt's not available, Dr. Stevens is and vice versa - they're each other's back up. So though Dr. Butt was my OB throughout my 2nd pregnancy, it was Dr. Stevens who delivered. I was okay with that because I'd had enough appointments with Dr. Stevens to feel good with her, but the set up may not appeal to others... though not sure there's any getting around it if one doctor is taking care of another patient or otherwise unavailable. Happens with all OBs, no? As others have mentioned, the front staff aren't necessarily the friendliest people ever, but they're efficient, polite and great at their jobs - that counts for a lot, especially in New York. Overall, I'd highly recommend their practice and the doctors if you're looking for a great OB. read more

I only write reviews if I had a very poor service experience or an excellent one. I'm proud to say that having Dr. Butt not only as my OBGYN but also as the doctor who delivered my beautiful baby was the best experience. I tried Dr. Steven's practice out because her reviews were stellar. She was out on maternity leave which is why I first was seen by Dr. Butt. The majority of my appointments leading up to my delivery was with Dr. Butt but I also had pleasant interactions with Dr. Stevens and Dr. Keaty. However, I am so happy that Dr. Butt was able to see me through the big day. She was amazing to not only me but also my family who was in the delivery room. Since I was pretty out of it during the actual labor, I am writing this also on behalf of my husband who witnessed the whole process waist down. Dr. Butt is a true professional and with her excellent guidance I was able to have a vaginal delivery. I recall her coaching me and giving me a lot of encouragement about my progress. There were times that I doubted if I could do it but Dr. Butt got me through it. My husband described the experience as fascinating and that Dr. Butt was working me like working in a new baseball mitt, lol. I am a patient of Dr. Natalie Stevens (whom I love). Today I saw Dr. Butt instead, I liked her as well. Both doctors are personable & efficient. However, their staff is horrible, no matter how many times they acquire new people. The receptionist is rude almost every time I call. Today, immediately after my appointment, The medical assistant asked me to change rooms, while I was still in my gown. I complied, got dressed and she administered blood work in the new room. I was wiping the blood off of my arm (bc I do not like the bandaids) and she rushed me out of this room as well, telling me someone else was waiting for the room. I've been a patient of Dr. Stevens for at least 5 years and she is amazing, but she really needs to upgrade staff. Dr Butt is one of the most wonderful OB-GYN I ever had. Back in last year when I found out I was pregnant and my previous GYN doesn't deliver baby, I got pretty nervous and found Dr Steven (Dr Butt's partner) from internet. For the first few times, I was seeing Dr Steven, and she was really nice and friendly. Then one day when I went for my appointment, the front desk ask if it is ok for me to see another doctor, which is Dr Butt, I said I'm fine with it (the front desk ladies are super nice, I love them a lot). After seeing her, I was surprised (didn't expect that she is Asian) and fall in love with her (she is pretty and nice). She had a great manner overall and never rush me through the appointment. I asked lots of questions and she answered all of them. She understand the details about Asian raised family have a lot of restriction on food and myth for something else. She also patiently listened all. Afterall, I see her through almost my whole pregnancy time. I feel very comfortable to talk to her and I don't hate the check up at all. Even though she didn't deliver my baby due to the timing (Dr Steven did a wonderful c section for me), but she still come visit me at the hospital to see how I'm doing. Without her, I would have been super stressed. I would definitely recommend her to anyone (which I did and my friends are seeing her already and they all love her). I have been a patient of Dr Butt's since moving to NYC back in 2013. When I got pregnant with my son I couldn't wait to start seeing her on a regular basis. She is quick, efficient and knowledgeable. I never felt like my questions weren't answered. She knows what she's talking about but doesn't make you wait a crazy amount of time for your appointment. And when you have to go every 2-4 weeks, efficiency is key! When I got pregnant for the second time I knew Dr Butt would be there for me. I ended up having a high risk pregnancy the second time around but was glad when it was identified early. Again, I have always felt safe and like my worries are being heard. She was by far the worse doctor I have ever encountered in my life. Don't expect any respect or kindness, her bedside manner is absolutely vile. I would allocate zero stars if it was possible. I was thankful she didn't deliver my baby but she was the back up doctor in that practice; I vowed she would not touch me after my initial visit with her. After almost losing my child in labor, during a post labor round in the recovery unit she brushed me off and was incredibly rude. She said that I should move on and it happened. "IT" being that I almost lost my child, if my daughter was not extracted during an emergency c-section (they had less than 2.5 minutes to get her out), she would have DIED. No empathy or consideration for the nightmare of an emergency I had or acknowledgement that my concerns were warranted prior to my labor. During that encounter the attending nurse and my mother in law were mortified by the interaction. A few days before my labor, I was alerted at the hospital there were some concerns, after that appt I went straight to the OB practice and was forced to deal with her since my doctor was on vacation. She didn't take my concerns serious, was super rude and facetious. She knew the risks, why would she let me go home! Why not check up on me the following day. If my water broke at home, I would have almost certainly lost my daughter. I could say so much more about my experience but it doesn't change what happened. No woman carrying a child, going through the motions of pregnancy should experience that kind of treatment. I am absolutely shocked that Dr. Butt has positive reviews from other patients, and I am glad that not all of her patients experience this type of behavior. She is an integral part of a woman's child bearing experience and should remember that her behavior leaves a long lasting impact! She should ask herself "why am I a doctor?" if this is how she is planning on treating certain patients in her practice. I visited Dr. Butt for my annual exam in November 2014. During my appointment, I urged her to do a biopsy for a related issue. She seemed uninformed on how to proceed, but agreed to do the biopsy. She called me on the phone about a week later to give me the upsetting news of my results with little to no warmth or comfort. After several months of painful and uncomfortable treatment, I visited another Dr. for a second opinion and endured several more biopsies only find out that Dr. Butt and her pathologist had misdiagnosed me. My condition was completely benign and required no treatment whatsoever. I have an appointment with a new OBGYN tomorrow and called Dr. Butt's office to request my records. I was told it would take 5 business days. I stressed that it was a time sensitive issue and requested to pick them up in the office and was told I would have to PAY for my medical records. There are a lot of great Drs in New York City. In my opinion, Dr. Butt is not one of them. read more

Very rude Gyn! Sh's so moody, not enough knowledge for pregnancy, because every time I ask her something , she try to say something else and not answer to you. She spend 2 minutes or less with you, just a look to ultrasound and sees baby's heart rate and says baby is ok. That's it. SH doesn't go through the tests or labs that I did last time and just says it's normal. And it wasn't normal, because I developed iron deficiency anemia because of her ignorance to my labs. she 's the worst gyn ever. I will never recommend her to anybody. read more

I have always been able to get an appointment, and despite how busy they are, her office is always able to fit me in even at the last minute. Dr. Butt ended is exceptional. She has a great bedside manner and does not rush you through an appointment. She answers every question and does not make you feel silly for asking any of them. She is truly a fantastic surgeon as well. I felt she was supportive of any way I wanted to give birth - natural, with drugs or without, etc. I felt she was willing to support any kind of birth as long as it was medically possible. I ended up doing a planned c-section because of some medical issues that hit in my third trimester, and she did a fabulous job. I was feeling myself again quickly, and the scar is minimal. We did cord blood donations to the national bank and they said it was the finest collection they have ever seen. Overall, she is a thoughtful, caring and exceptional doctor. I was referred to Dr. Butt by a friend and my husband and I couldn't be happier. Based on previous miscarriages, I was looking for an OBGYN that would provide us with the best medical care and support through our first pregnancy. Dr. Butt was incredibly patient, supportive and was there every step of the way. I didn't know what to expect with my first delivery but everything went so smoothly and is a testament to her constant communication and keeping us updated on what to expect each step of the pregnancy to delivery. Dr. Butt is knowledgeable, practical and has good bedside manner. Given my medical history, she monitored me very closely and scheduled bi-weekly visits during my first trimester. Although Doctor Butt did not ultimately deliver my daughter (I had a scheduled C-section with Dr. Stevens the 2nd time around because she was in breech position) I just wanted to leave a positive review for all my interactions with Dr. Butt as she checked up on me post-op for several days at the hospital, and I had several appointments with her before my delivery. There are so many nice things to say about Dr. Butt- she is kind, professional, personable, calm, reassuring...everything that you want in a doctor, especially in an OBGYN. I became pregnant right before the onset of Covid and was in the middle of my pregnancy during some of those horrific late winter/Spring months. Unlike some of my other friends at the time- Dr. Butt kept seeing her pregnant patients and took every precaution to make sure that her patients and staff were safe and all necessary tests were administered on time. During a time of uncertainty, she was calm and steadfast in providing top health care. I NEVER had any issues making appts, getting in touch w/Dr. Butt directly, having her team call in prescriptions, etc. Everything was always taken care of with a sense of urgency. Dr. Butt is a wonderful doctor for any female at any life stage, but if you are thinking of having a child-remember that the doctor is the first the person that your child meets when they enter this world and I am proud that my daughter met such a strong, smart individual that carried a family through a very difficult time in the world. read more

I saw positive reviews for Dr Butt here on Yelp, so thought she'd be a great OB for my first baby. She was actually very friendly at my first appointment and seemed to know what she was talking about. However, at virtually every single appointment thereafter she was incredibly rude and hostile to me, so much so, I almost couldn't believe it. I was never a rude or pushy patient and found it very odd tbh. If i asked no questions and said nothing, she'd be brusque. If I dared to ask a simple question about my baby, she'd be instantly, visibly annoyed and give me a patronizing lecture. She also never gave me any feedback and was downright offended and seemingly fuming when I even enquired as to what my test results may have been. Definitely not recommended. read more

She is professional, has impeccable bedside manner, and is genuinely a delight to be around. Dr. Butt has been my doctor for years and most recently took care of me during my pregnancy. She was always informative and explained what tests needed to be done and why. Dr. Butt is nothing but exceptional. I saw her for the first time when I was only a couple of weeks from delivery, but I was pleasantly surprised by her great bedside manner. I didn't feel rushed at all - Dr. Butt patiently answered all my questions. She was also the one who delivered my baby. I progressed very quickly and Dr. Butt arrived promptly in the middle of the night, just in time for me to push. We were scheduled at 9:30 am and not seem until 10:45am. The receptionist must hate her job judging by her "I hate my job" face and attitude. Dr. Butt rushed through her speech, shut me up twice by saying "I haven't gotten to that yet," and mocked my fear of needles by saying "Yeah, Anway..." Upon expressing concern over a vaginal ultrasound and a friend's misscariage that came shortly after, she coldly dissmissed our concerns as if we we're idiots. There is NO WAY IN HELL THAT THAT WOMAN WILL EVER DELIVER OUR BABY! When I was in the hospital after my water broke, she spent the entire day and night with me and kept me as calm and comfortable as possible. She listens and is extremely responsive.
