I've got a pretty good grasp of my health. My regular doc was out so dr. fein was the alt. She was pleasant, she listened, she offered suggestions and answered my questions. The office is much more convenient than the other doc so I'm switching. The staff was polite, the office clean and short wait. The cons, I didn't get a follow up call with results like usual and the vitamins she recommended are filled with garbage and I'd never take. She may not have the bedside manner for everyone but she's aware and current of trends and medical news and she did listen. read more

Horrible staff! They charged me $200 and when I inquired they kept telling me that it was deductible, coinsurance, etc. when the bill clearly shows coinsurance was way less. Other excuses were that my insurance card is not on file so my bill will be reprocessed. Just excuses after excuses!! When I called my insurance company I realized that this doctor actually is out of network. All of this 'beating around the bush' just because the practice is incompetent to clearly state which insurance they take. DONT SAY THAT YOU ACCEPT INSURANCES THAT YOU ARE OUT OF NETWORK WITH!!! I just started to see Dr. Fein a couple months ago. So far I am impressed with the time she took with me for each appointment, I never felt rushed. She answered my questions and always made sure I felt comfortable before proceeding, and checked to make sure my insurance covered any procedures or treatment. I have been a patient of Dr.Fein for a few years she is a good Dr. But her reception desk and billing department are horrendous! This is a letter I faxed to Dr. Feins office on July 17, 2014 and called to speak with her about my test results and reimbursing me for the billing error. Today September 3, 2014 Dr. fein has not contacted me or returned my calls. Dear Dr. Tracy Fein, My apologies in advance for bothering you with billing and receptionist problems. I have had since Monday June 23 trying to retify a billing error that has not been resolved to my satisfaction. My insurance company and I tried to rectify billing errors with your billing department and receptionist on Monday and Tuesday. Unfortunately neither the two Cigna agents or myself could communicate effectively the solution to the billing and coding errors made by your billing department. This is the reason why I am contacting you and faxing the bills I received to prove money was taken out of my personal HRA fund to pay for test that are all covered at 100% if coded properly and if the lab work was sent to an in network lab. Your billing department asked me to send any bills I have received because of their careless errors. I can e-mail you a copy of a phone message left by your billing department asking for all bills to be faxed. I was in your office either on May 5 or 6 for my yearly wellness visit. My lab work was sent to an out-of-network lab and I was charged $92.41. How does such a mistake happen? The $92.41 was taken out of my personal HRA fund. My insurance changed from Aetna to Cigna I gave your receptionist my new card. I was informed billing never received this information and billed improperly. A copy of charges to my HRA account is enclosed. I am not finically responsible for this error. I have appealed this charge with my insurance company. The Bone density test was coded improperly stating I have an illness. You recommended I have this test since I never had one and I was post menopausal. This would have been covered at 100% if coded as preventive which this test was. Thank you for the results I would like to discuss them with you. I was charged $114.95 taken out of my personal HRA fund. A copy of charges to my HRA account is enclosed.The ultra sound test should have been covered at 100% since it is preventive. Cigna and Lenox Hill said it was covered at 100% I have dense breast. Cigna informed me I was charged $ 112.09 because of the code used. I am fully aware our heath care system is in shambles. Properly inputed codes and new insurance information is extremely important for both the patient and their Doctor. I should not be finically responsible for billing and coding errors. I cannot financially afford losing money out of my HRA account. Please have the billing department rectify the error they created so my HRA account or myself can be reimbursed $319.45. Dr. Fein please contact me so we can discuss this matter along with my test results. Thank you. read more

She is careless with new mothers. She has the worst bedside manners. She doesn't listen to you when something is wrong and plays I know better than you. Not sympathetic and very rude to call and ask for questions. Doesn't care!! She also didn't listen and basically my baby boy Charles passed away at 38 weeks because she would not listen to me and send me to the hospital. I feel she killed my baby. This lady is always offended. I was explaining what I experience with classic migraines. Me: I get classic migraines, so... Fein: (snaps at me) I know what a classic migraine is!!! So defensive. Hey would it be okay if I check my understanding of my migraines against what you might be able to tell me? She also always knows best, so even if you think you know your own body and can tell that something isn't right, be prepared to be huffily overruled. I was a patient of Dr. Fein for several years and regret not finding a new doctor sooner. I do not question her medical judgments, but I do have a problem with her poor communication skills. I found her incredibly businesslike in discussing my health; she's not someone you feel comfortable shivering in front of while sporting a paper gown. In fact, on one memorable occasion she became visibly upset and belligerent when I told her more details about my family history. She berated me for not sharing a minor detail sooner. When I moved out of town and asked her office to send my new doctor my records I was appalled to learn that Dr. Fein charges a fee! For every sheet of paper her staff sends to my doctor I am charged 75 cents. The nickel and dime treatment patients receive matches Dr. Fein's detached, business attitude. read more

Dr.Fein is amazing and very professional. I saw her for regular visits and continued to see her during my pregnancy. She was also at the hospital when I was in labor. Dr.Fein helped me to have the birth experience I hoped to have. I wished for a natural delivery with as little medical interventions as possible. Nobody forced me to have epidural or something else (like I read in some comments). On the contrary, I received the necessary support and encouragement when it was needed. I highly recommend Dr. Fein. I have been a patient of Dr. Fein for over 10 years (through two pregnancies) and I have had only very positive experiences with her (and her receptionists/nurses for that matter). I continually find her to be very knowledgeable, easy to communicate with and non-judgmental. She is very experienced and always current on the latest advances in medicine -if she doesn't know the answer to something, she will find out for you. Generally, I have not had to waited very long past my actual appointment time to see her. On occasion I have called the office and she has answered the phone herself as she is very hands on. I delivered both children with Dr. Fein at Lenox Hill Hospital and all of the nurses there always speak very highly of her. Although I have moved out of NYC I still come in to see her. It seems the trend these days is for ob/gyn offices is to have a "team" of drs on staff and you see which ever dr is available at the time you need to be seen - same with your labor and delivery. I personally would never be ok with this arrangement as you are unable to build a rapport with one dr who knows you and your medical history best. Your ob/gyn health, not to mention your labor and delivery, is very personal and with Dr. Fein, you get the same person every time who knows (and she always remembers) your personal medical history. This is especially important in times of emergency. That said, she does work with one other ob/gyn (also a great dr) so that in the event she is unavailable in an emergency you are covered. Perhaps one of the best perks of her office is that she has a sono technician onsite so that you do not need to go elsewhere (lab, hospital, etc...) to conduct your exams and she gets the info needed in real time. This is a tremendous benefit. read more

Dr Fein just delivered my baby during an emergency c section last week. She was covering for my regular doctor who was away on vacation. Thus we met for the first time under what was a very stressful situation for me. My baby was not responding well to labor and had gone into distress several times. Dr Fein was an absolute god sent. I was nervous about my regular doctor not delivering since we had worked together for 9 months. However I felt safe and comfortable in the care of Dr Fein upon meeting her. She is professional, calm, and was cool under pressure. After the fact, several nurses told me I had one of the best c section incisions they had ever seen. It's small and low. While we only had a short lived interaction, I thoroughly trust this doctor and would highly recommend her. read more

As any woman knows a OBGYN is more than just a doctor, and finding one that you can open up to (no pun intended) is something that is to be truly valued. I have been seeing Dr. Fein for over 2 decades now and her bed side manor is more comparable to that of a mother then just another professional in the field. Allthough I moved out of the state many years ago I still make the voyage to through the congestion to the city to see her. There is not another doctor I would trust more with my personals. Dr Fein is an absolute bank of knowledge. She recommends everything from vitamins to new apps that I can use to keep track of everything while I'm attending to my day to day task. My wife and I had our baby boy by Dr. Fein this year. I cannot speak for other reviewers, but for us, Dr. Fein was all we could have dreamed for. Through my wife's pregnancy, there were some stressful times (which were beyond any doctors control), but Dr. Fein was always available and took time to listen and understand my wife's concern and issues. I had complications with both pregnancies, and she was always caring, concerned, and most importantly, knowledgeable. I hate Yelp because it's a platform for people to rant over their alleged bad experiences. Nothing is fact-based, and yet these reviews can ruin a good reputation. I've been a patient of Tracey Fein for about a decade, and found her through a referral of one of my patients. Dr Fein is articulate, thorough, careful and calm. She likes her notes to be up-to-date and her manner reflects a scrupulous nature. She is not the smoozy type of doctor, and if your looking for someone who can host a late night show, perhaps she isn't the doctor for you. Personally, I don't vet my doctors based on how many times they smile or chat with me, but rather on how thoroughly they examine me and address my concerns. Yes, insurance can be a nightmare, and speaking from experience, taking calls at the front desk, is no walk in the park. Just today I phoned the office regarding a dispute I am having with my own insurance company, and without even thinking of asking to speak to dr. Fein, she intercepted the call and spent a good 10 minutes discussing a call to action, and asking about any current health issues. She's is personally taking on my insurance company because that's just who she is. Dr Fein is a smart woman and a dedicated doctor. She is practical and has a strategic mind, that affords her patients with high quality care. As a side note, when she wasn't on my new insurance, I stayed with her and became a self-pay patient. read more

I first saw Dr. Fein after receiving confirmation of a viable pregnancy by my trusted Gynecologist (who had stopped practicing Obstetrics). The referrals I had been given were either fully booked for my due date or didn't take my particular insurance plan. I found Dr. Fein on my insurance web site & went to her without any information or recommendations. The first few appts were lackluster & I got the feeling that bedside manner was not Dr. Fein's strong suit, but did not consider looking for a new doctor at all. However, as my pregnancy progressed, my appts became more & more stressful as Dr. Fein became even less empathetic, more "lecturing," and even abrasive as she advised that we'd discussed things that we definitely had not. I thought it was all in my head & blamed myself for being too sensitive. Until one day, when I was about 28 weeks along, I noticed a drastic drop in fetal movement. I worried all day without calling Dr. Fein because I'd developed some fear of her & hadn't even realized it. My husband told me "Don't ignore a potentially dangerous sign because your doctor is unapproachable. I'm sure if you call her she won't dismiss you." So I called around noon & left a fairly detailed message with the receptionist. Dr. Fein returned my call over 3 hours later & started the conversation by telling me she was extremely busy, "at the hospital, delivering 3 babies at the moment." My immediate reaction was to apologize, then I began to cry. I said that my intent was not to disturb her in any way but to make sure that my baby was okay. She backed off (only somewhat) and asked me some questions about how much movement I had felt. Perhaps she realized that I was worried for good reason because she then said & I quote "If you're really that worried about it, you can come to the hospital. I'm already here anyway." I immediately said that's what I would do & I went. Once at the hospital, I was told she was busy (which I already knew) & I was treated by a very compassionate resident. I was shocked at the difference in how it felt to be treated by someone other than Dr. Fein, who did not chastise me for worrying about something. Everything seemed okay with the baby, following all the tests, however he was definitely less active than normal all day. The resident said it could've been related to the heat wave we were having or maybe nothing. She then went to get Dr. Fein to see me before being discharged but came back, saying Dr. Fein was still too busy. I was so relieved, since I never wanted to see her again at that point. What sealed my distaste for her was when I left the exam room, I saw her standing in the hallway, leaned against the wall, chatting with a colleague. She actually saw me see her and she DIVERTED HER EYES & turned her head away. I was so disgusted at her complete disregard for me or my unborn child, I immediately began a search for a doctor who would take a transfer patient, already 7 months along. I had to go to one more appt with her in the interim of switching docs & I was terrified of what she would say about my previous over-concern that had so inconvenienced her. I insisted that my husband come with me for support (& hoping she would be more polite in his presence.) It must have worked as she was the most pleasant she had ever been and did not even mention the hospital episode only 2 weeks earlier. I was pleased to get in & get out without confrontation, but equally amazed that she would not even ask me about what had happened or how things had been since then. It was almost as if she had no idea who I was or about my recent hospital visit. I will never know if she was "acting nice" because my husband was there or if she was honestly so detached & unconcerned about her patient that it completely escaped her consciousness. Either way, I was the most displeased I've ever been with a doctor & could not run away fast enough. I see some positive reviews for her on other web sites & am very skeptical because it sounds like these women are describing a totally different person than who I saw. Perhaps she just had something against me in particular...? read more

I will never go back to Dr. Fein. She is rude and makes you feel awful in a situation where you need someone who is very sympathetic. I actually wanted to cry when she responded in such a nasty way to an answer to a question she had asked me. A woman needs a GYN who is sympathetic and caring. read more

I've had a really bad experience with Dr Fein on the day of my labor. Although I told her that I was sure I could take the pain (wanted a natural delivery) and do not want to take epidural, she kept pushing me to get it, until my husband had to yell at her for pushing me to do something she knew I did not want to, and so she left the room until I was about to give birth to my baby. I was in the room with the nurse and my husband for over half hour while Dr.Fein stayed on the phone outside of the delivery room, upset that she won't get some extra money from me, since I'm not getting the epidural. She just wasn't happy I was giving birth naturally, which sucks! I'm never going back to her and would never want to see her again! There are many other doctors out there that treat patients as human beings, and not to see patients only for their $$$. read more

I believe Dr. Fein may have saved my life so, not surprisingly, I'm giving her 5 stars. In 2014, I went to her as a new patient, on a friend's recommendation. Her examination of me was extremely thorough and she felt something in my breast that just didn't feel right to her. I couldn't feel a thing and the mammogram and sonogram I had done a few months earlier didn't show anything. Nonetheless, after closely reviewing the images and reports of those tests, Dr. Fein trusted her instincts and sent me to a breast surgeon for additional testing. Of course, you can guess the result. I had breast cancer. If not for Dr. Fein, my cancer would likely have escaped detection until it was very advanced. As it was, I had to have a mastectomy, chemo and radiation even though it was an early stage cancer. Now I'm on the road to recovery and plan to see Dr. Fein for many (hopefully uneventful) years to come. I highly recommend Dr. Fein, particularly if you have dense breast tissue. All the high tech imaging in the world can't substitute for a skilled and experienced diagnostician. read more

I've been a patient of Dr.Fein for 5yrs now. She delivered my daughter who is now 4.5yrs old. A month before my due date, I was hospitalized for 8 days for nose bleed. I had 7 pints of blood transfusion. It was probably the scariest thing that ever happened to me and my husband because not only we were worried for my health but we were so concerned how it might hurt our first baby. Luckily, I have Dr.Fein as my doctor. She was there all throughout my ordeal. Always checking on me, my hubby and our unborn child. Dr.Fein was very compassionate and made us feel that she really cares. That made us more at ease considering my condition. 2yrs later, I got pregnant again but unfortunately, I had a miscarriage on my 3rd month. Again, Dr.Fein was amazing. She was just as broken hearted as my hubby and I. She talked to us about other options and just tried to comfort us. After that experience, Dr.Fein was not just a doctor to us but a friend that we can trust. My family moved to Jersey City a year ago and I was forced to find another Ob/gyn that would be closer to me. I found a good one but the minute I found out 4mos ago that we are expecting, my heart and gut told me to contact Dr.Fein. I felt that it was the right thing for me to do and I would feel so much better if I go through this wonderful experience again with the doctor that I fully trust the most and that is Dr.Fein!
