As a surprise for her 13th birthday, we hired Ryann to come to the house for a 2 hour "new teen makeup tutorial" for our daughter and her best friend, it was a HUGE hit! Ryann was funny and fun, and did two great looks on each of them, a casual, age appropriate look, and then went big glam for a fancy look. When life returns to normal, we will definitely be having her back to do something for dances and proms, or other big nights. Apparently she also does great hair styling as well, we're looking forward to trying that too. Also, we felt very comfortable, they have absolutely tip top excellent COVID protocols. Ryann was double-masked, wearing a face shield, had all new brushes, bleached everything as she went along, etc. Thanks Ryann and Sheilynn!

TLDR: Get your hair and makeup done by Shyn. She replies quickly to emails/questions. You will look…read moregreat and your skin will look amazing. Plus she is so easy and fun to talk to during the process. No awkward silence. If you do want the details, read below. I was looking for a natural glam for my engagement shoot and that is exactly what Shyn delivered. Scrolling through the instagram photos you can see how diverse their clients are and how the makeup looks on each variety of skin tones. Being Asian, it was important to me to find someone who knew how to work with Asian hair and specifically do makeup on Asian eyes. If you are Asian, you know what I am talking about. Our natural hair sometimes struggles with curls and our eye lids and shape can be a struggle for a non experienced MUA. Being new to this process and having never gotten my makeup done before by someone other than a sales person at Sephora and this was a real treat. When you arrive, Shyn takes the time to make sure she has prepped your skin thoroughly before starting with the makeup. She even takes the time to create your own foundation concoction which will match your skin color perfectly. To me, flawless skin is a must for every bride and bride-to-be. I can already tell you that my skin looks soooo good in the sneak peak photos I received. I seriously wish she could do my make up every day. Not only is she great at makeup, she is bomb at hair! My one request was not to look like a mushroom head with my short hair. Something that a lady doing my hair earlier this year made me look like. I had a picture ready to show her just in case she needed it, which she did not, and got those soft perfect waves for my short hair that I had wanted.

Maryam switched her schedule around and met me early at her salon on a Saturday morning with just 5 days' notice. I don't wear much makeup or do much with my hair on a daily basis, so I wanted a fairly simple yet stunning look for my big day. Maryam was truly an artist, creating a flawless, romantic yet slightly sassy look that I could have never imagined. Her prices were totally reasonable (I expected to pay twice as much, especially at the last minute) and she is one of the nicest stylists I have ever worked with. If I ever need hair or makeup done again, I'm definitely going back to Maryam!

I truly couldn't have asked for a better makeup artist than Vian for my wedding day…read more From the very beginning, she was incredibly professional, attentive, and genuinely invested in helping me look like the best version of myself. I told her early on that I prefer a very natural look and don't feel comfortable in heavy makeup -- and she absolutely delivered. My makeup felt light, effortless, and still completely me... just elevated. It was more beautiful than my daily look, but never overdone. I especially loved what she did with my eyes and lashes. They looked soft and natural, yet defined and stunning in photos. And my hair -- this was huge for me. I don't have a lot of hair and I didn't want to wear a wig on my wedding day. She respected that completely and somehow created beautiful, natural-looking volume that made me feel confident and radiant. I was honestly amazed at what she was able to do. She was also so open to feedback and small adjustments throughout the process, which made me feel really heard and comfortable. Beyond her talent, she's just a lovely person to have around on such an important day. Calm, experienced, and clearly passionate about what she does. Even her husband stopped by to help us pick up drinks that day -- it felt personal and supportive, not transactional. Having her there made my wedding morning feel relaxed and joyful. I'm so grateful I chose her and would recommend her wholeheartedly to any bride looking for a natural, beautiful, and thoughtful approach.

This is a review purely for the bridal hair and makeup trial, have no experience with her in an…read moreactual wedding setting. The main reason I did not go forward with booking with her was because of the haphazard nature of the hair part of the trial. Vian did not part my hair, comb my hair, or use hairspray, and just draped the headpiece on instead of tying it to the hair. She told me the trial is to only get an "idea" of what the hair would look like and made me undo the hairstyle after getting pics so she could get the hair piece and pins back. I was pretty stunned because I paid almost double to include hair in the trial rather than just makeup, so I was expecting to get more than just an "idea", I wanted to see how the hairstyle would stay throughout the day. The end result was messy hair (attached a photo) and my sister who was watching commented after that she could have done a better job. In addition, Vian told me I needed to get a haircut for curtain bangs before the wedding in order for the hairstyle to work. This felt like an excuse, I'd expect her to work with the hair I have and make the best hairstyle possible, not fault me for it not looking good. Afterwards I had a hair and makeup trial with a different artist for the exact same price. At this one, I got a full hairstyle with combing, hairspray, pins that stayed on for the full day and I wasn't told that I needed to cut my hair, and it looked much better. I ended up proceeding with booking this person for the wedding instead. For the makeup, later that day I noticed that there was a smudge on my eyebrow. I checked photos and it was there in the very first photo my sister took of me after the trial was completed. I was surprised Vian didn't notice and fix this and this made me question her makeup skills as well. Style wise the makeup didn't match what I had on my Pinterest board that I showed her -- those had softer, lighter colors but I was given a darker, higher contrast look. To be fair, she asked what lip color I wanted and I told her she could choose because I didn't know (not experienced with makeup). However, the second makeup artist was so much more thorough -- she looked through my Pinterest board and asked things like, "these are all warm toned but this one is cool toned -- do you want warm or cool toned" and was able to distinguish what I liked from that, and I ended up with a look I was much happier with. Perhaps Vian would work better for someone who has a strong idea of what they're looking for, versus someone completely new to makeup (me).

From the very start Nicole was kind and professional. During my trial session I mentioned that I have sensitive skin and she really took the time to check-in with me throughout the process to make sure I was comfortable. The quality of the products she uses are top-notch as well. Also, she takes the time to listen to what you as a bride want along with what the bridesmaids want. I wanted a soft, natural look and she was able to create it even better than I imagined! On the wedding day, Nicole and her assistant (who is also great!) arrived on-time and ready to go. And just like during the trial session, Nicole was so sweet and made sure myself and my bridesmaids were comfortable. Myself and my two bridesmaids don't usually wear makeup or style our hair, but the looks that were created lasted the entire 10 hours of my wedding in 70 degree summer weather! Overall, if I ever need hair and makeup done I will for sure contact her again. I highly recommend Nicole for any future brides' wedding and other special occasions!

There are only a handful of vendors that meet these requirements, but I was so happy when I came across Christy K. When I had my trial, I could tell Christy was very knowledgable and provided excellent recommendations given that I was a very lost bride with almost no clue what direction I wanted to go for my makeup. On the day of the wedding, we had a very limited time window with 7 ladies who needed to get ready. Christy and her team not only got us ready with beautiful makeup & hair, but also finished much faster than the timeline we had previously discussed! And therefore, we had more time to do other wedding related activities. Her rates were also very reasonable. We received many compliments of how beautiful, yet natural we looked! There is one special thing I wanted to note about Christy and team. I had an outfit change from my Western bridal dress into my Chinese qipao. The makeup style for these two outfits can sometimes be very different - and if not done correctly, I wouldn't have looked as good in one or the other. However, the way Christy and her hairstylist did my hair and makeup worked perfectly with both outfits. Incredible talent! I don't always like how I look in photos and videos, but the way Christy and her team got us ready (as well as the few photo sneak previews) has me so excited for the upcoming photos and videos! I am so grateful for Christy K and team for making me look and beautiful on my wedding day!
