Ya know, meet a gal, talk a little bit, find your way to the motel 6, spread her gooter (hope that she has lady parts), and commence forth into naughtyland. I thought I knew everything about sex. I mean, how much is there to know about a box? I guess I was wrong... Since when did feet have vaginas on them? Is this some new evolutionary trait? I heard it's called a vajankle. You touch the toes and insert your dinky into the hole. I don't know what to say! Gross! There was a wall of pornographic movies. There were many displaying sexual acts that I have never seen before. Something about farts? "Fat girls like em stinky" it was called. Weird. Am I too old for this place? Back in my day, we didn't fasten clip on spikes to our boobies and put on a ski mask and wear a 15 inch schlongenheimer that's tentacle shaped. WTF!

Pretty sizeable shop on the inside with a solid variety of stuff, split not quite half and half between DVDs and toys. My five star rating is based entirely on the selection available for purchase. I was most impressed by their wall of strap-ons, both solid and hollow. There was additional gear for trans men too (some stuff I'd never seen before from Buck Angel!). Lots of great bondage gear, chastity items, penis pumps, sounding kits, buttplugs and other anal gear, cock rings, vibrators, dildos big and small, etc. The obligatory bachelorette party crap, lots of lube options, some smoke shop stuff, and a zillion different incense sticks to mask otherwise unsavory scents, I guess? This shop was light on lingerie. The employee was pretty mediocre but perhaps she was keeping her distance so we could browse discreetly. I'm one of those people that isn't shy and doesn't mind chatting up employees at sex shops, but I know others don't feel the same way.

I really want to treat her because she's literally the best thing that's ever happened to me, but I want it to be something that's meaningful and she can use. A tangible item or items that isn't stereotypical. We live in the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood, and it dawns on me she mentioned this place called Darlin' down the road from our apartment. ~Enter Katy~ I call up at the store and speak with the nicest person ever (obviously Katy the store owner). She lines me up for a surprise shopping spree for my gal before business hours on Sunday, and as a male, totally turns around my "uncomfortable-ness" for shopping for women's underwear, even if it is for my partner. At this point, I'm just excited. Flash forward a week in the future, and Katy is walking us through the store, professionally fitting my girl, providing all kinds of unique pieces, and creating an intimate (and completely noninvasive) shopping experience that I've frankly never had in a retail store. Keep in mind, it's literally just us three because Katy booked us early on a Sunday. Once it's all said and done, my gal settled on a few work bras, a few lingerie pieces, and a few lounge pieces. We dropped a pretty good chunk of change, but this is literally the definition of "you get what you pay for". And further, we NEVER felt pressured to purchase anything. You could just genuinely tell Katy enjoyed providing this experience for us. If we bought 1 item, that's great. If we bought 10 items, that's still great. If you're still reading this, you can probably guess where we landed on that scale. If you leave this place less than 5-Stars you have no taste, and Katy is one of the sweetest humans alive. If you have a heart, support this local business before you shop at a major retailer (*cough*cough* Victoria Secret). We will absolutely coming back.

For about a year or so, I did not come in, but even so, Adrienne instantly remembered the type of bras I like, the last sizes I was in, and the sister sizes associated. She made me feel so comfortable when speaking to her about the issues I was having with my current bras. Adrienne helped me with the different brands, ordering, etc. I remember thinking, "Oh my god, this is what I've been missing from buying online." There's nothing like having an experienced retailer wih customer service skills helping you out. Of course, they are trying to sell a product, but it helps when the product is quality and the person ensures the product is right for your needs. Totally worth the price and the horrible drive to Green Hills!
