I decided to check out The Hip Zipper because it is supposedly the oldest vintage store in Nashville and the prices from other reviewers said were fair to affordable! Selection made for the first stop. I was greeted by the lovely Gracie name suited her. She allowed me to browse quick to answer questions and showed me to the dressing room all while juggling other clients. The Hip Zipper has an ample dressing room for trying on. I think there is only one dressing room. However, in a pinch they might use the restroom. I must mention they do have a restroom which is lovely. I really love the layout of the store easy to survey every rack CLEARLY marked with what is there. The tags give additional help on the size and prices are CLEARLY marked. Please remember vintage does run smaller don't FORCE these garments to fit if you are having trouble PLEASE ask for assistance. I picked up two very fabulous dresses from two different eras of fashion. A sweater dress with amazing details and a matching belt dating from the 1940's to 1950's $ 52.00 and a late 1970's early 1980's dress for a mere $ 10.00! She had also posted these boots, and I had to go check them out. I picked up my sis and we stopped in. Of course, fell in love with the boots and while I was there I also found this Jean Jacket/shacket . I realize they both went together soooo good and with the sale, it was too good to pass up. I was looking through the birthday cards for a friend's birthday and she stayed in one spot staring at me like I was going to steal a card..... Then when I got tired of being treated like a thief she tried to follow us as we left the store till I yelled out she's still following us. There were tons of people in the store, stuff was a mess, there's plenty of stuff she could have been doing besides watching me a handicapped girl looking at birthday cards. They lost a customer and money today because of this employee.

I chose to do a boudoir photo shoot for my 10th wedding anniversary (really the 11th, because…read moreeverything for our 10th was postponed due to COVID in 2020). This process was so much fun, from beginning to end! I definitely recommend inquiring about dates of availability at least 2-3 months in advance, just so you're sure you have everything ready by your deadline. It's a small, female-owned business (woohoo!), and the dedication and attention to detail they put into giving you a final product you can be proud of is well worth the time. The day of the photo shoot, I enjoyed having my makeup and hair done by a professional makeup artist. She asked if I had any inspiration photos or features I wanted to highlight, and she had TONS of high-end cosmetics in her arsenal to play with, which made me feel even fancier, LOL. Afterward, I had plenty of options in their style closet to choose from -- with plenty of sizes available for all body types! -- in addition to some of my own bra sets that I brought with me. (All of their garments are professionally dry-cleaned after each shoot; I recommend bringing your own sexy undies in different colors and cuts, and you can select bras, bustiers, stockings, etc., that compliment your pieces!) I was a bit nervous starting out, but Katrina (the photographer) really puts you at ease, and you become more confident as the session moves along. It was only the two of us in the entire space that morning after the MUA left, which also helped me. She asked what I had in mind ("subtle sexiness") before we began, and she's open to however much or little skin you're okay with showing. You never feel pushed to do anything that you're not comfortable with. Katrina has years of professional experience shooting boudoir photography, and she truly knows how to make ALL bodies look beautiful with tons of pose ideas, lighting edits, etc. I had an idea for a silhouette shot I saw on Pinterest, and she was happy to move the space around and play with the lights to achieve what I wanted. (That particular shot became my personal favorite!) She really makes sure you FEEL as gorgeous as you look, which you can see in your photos. After the session, Kara does incredible work touching up your shots beautifully and making sure you have plenty of options when you return to select your photo package. (I had more than 100 photos in hand, all professionally edited and printed ahead of time, to look through and find my favorites.) As part of my package selection, I received a gorgeous photo book, digital copies of the photos, and an 11x14 print .The print was a gift to myself that I will hang in our master bathroom to remind myself that I am a sexy woman. :) I gave the photo book to my husband on our anniversary this week, and he must have looked at it front to back at least five times in silent concentration before he put it down with a gigantic smile on his face! Boudoir photography is a FANTASTIC gift idea, not only for a significant other, but also for yourself. Ladies, our bodies are strong and soft and gorgeous exactly as they are right this very second, and you are worth being made to feel as beautiful as you are! I was so grateful for the confidence boost that came as a result of this session. I recommend Katrina, Kara, and Boudoir at the LOFT with all my heart!
