My Homeowners claim started in June. I needed to have the skylight replaced before the rest could be done. That was done in early July. In August the came out to "work". In June it was known that there would be mold. It was visible to the naked eye. The covered things up... etc and cut into my ceiling to "discover" there was mold. They received another check from USAA and in late August the Mold Remediation was done. I then waited and waited to be contacted about the rest of the work. I had no insulation and part of my ceiling removed for 2 months. I had had enough! I fired Jenkins on October 4th. USAA sent the funds to me and I had them in 2 days. I was able to actually get the work started within DAYS of firing Jenkins. I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY DEDUCTIBLE CHECK BACK!!!! I was told it would go to corporate and be sent out when I spoke to Brian Hinton on October the 4th. I followed up on November the 10th and I was told that the person "forgot" to do it. That was a Thursday. I was told it would be done on Monday the 14th. All of my follow up calls were ignored this week until I called USAA. Today is the 17th of November. I was still on hold with USAA when Brian called me back. The gentleman from USAA left him a voicemail and then spoke with another representative. My phone calls were ignored until I called USAA in October so I was used to this. The person in Corporate was too busy to cut the check Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. I have been told that it is done now that I have involved USAA. When I was firing Jenkins I was told that we had a record amount of rain in September. I told him my skylight had been replaced in July and was ready to be worked on in July. I was told that they were working at 125% capacity and I would not be able to find anyone who could do the work quicker. I had someone here within 3 days. Jenkins told me that I had soft boards from termite damage. My other contractor said it was water damage. The difference between the 2 is that homeowners will cover water damage and not termite damage. It wasn't termites. That's okay. Since Jenkins came in at double the cost of the other contractor I could still get the boards replaced without getting my deductible back in a timely fashion. To sum up my experience it was HORRIBLE and ongoing. Brian Hinton can talk a really good game during the time when he is there for the estimate but it all falls apart after that. That brings me to the part I forgot. I wanted an estimate on how much it would cost to replace my 3 skylights before the water damage was repaired. I was given an eyeball estimate of 1000 but someone was supposed to get on my roof the next day. A few weeks later someone did get on my roof. The estimate became something closer $3700. I went with the contractor that came in at $2700. I do want to add that I had the work done before Jenkins actually managed to come in with an estimate. I had already given up on them. Brian explained to me all the ways in which it was better to go with a company that already works with USAA. He may be right if the company is NOT Jenkins Restoration. I did find things to support that claim. It simply does not hold true with this company. I still have materials from the sub contractors at my home. I have called and let them know that they can be picked up. I made that call the day after I fired Jenkins. From October 5th through today, November 17th picking up their equipment has not been a priority. I do know that there was a hurricane on October the 7th. read more

When I met Whit, Kyle, Chris, and Paul I was having a really bad day after discovering a sewage leak had damaged the entire first floor of my house. I was amazed and humbled by how kind, professional, and skilled the crew was. I had to leave today before Chris was done, and I was worried about how cold it might be in my crawl space if the crew had to leave the access door open to run power to the driers in the crawl space. I shouldn't have worried, because when I got home I discovered Chris had made sure the crawl space was sealed tightly and had cleverly run power down there from inside the house. This was just one of the extra ways the crew made me feel they cared as much about my house as I do. I felt extremely helpless when my home was damaged so unexpectedly. I had an unexpected sewage line leak that I didn't recognize for a couple of weeks. I contacted Brian who immediately took control and walked me through what I needed to do. He was a huge help when in the time of need. He immediately assembled the team to come out the next day to assess the situation. Chris was the lead person on the job. He was very knowledgeable and kept me up to date on all the details of the work. The guys showed up and were professional. Tyler, Brandon, Voni and Sherron spent the next several days under the house taking care of the damage. The team would text or call each day to advise me of there arrival. Chris and the team sent pictures of the underneath several times to keep me in the loop of the progress. This meant alot to me as I could see the progress. I came home one day to find water all across my kitchen due to storm damage. When the mitigation team got to the house I was a nervous wreck. They are very kind, professional and helped me with everything. They explained everything thoroughly. Even though they were cutting through my ceiling and cutting my new flooring they were just absolutely marvelous. They checked on me throughout the weekend and after another big storm. We had a pipe burst in our ceiling, soaking the drywall, insulation, and carpet. Our home insurance company connected us with Jenkins and they made it out later that day to help us out. All of the guys who came out to the house were polite, helpful, and worked quickly. They got the job done right which was particularly important to avoid any potential mold.
