Had we dealt with another salesman that I met while waiting for my husband to look at the car with Vince, they most likely would've had a sale today. Once we walked into the room his professionalism (if there ever was any because we never experienced that from him) left out the door. When I arrived we met, looked the vehicle over and took it for a test drive After that, we reached an agreement. I went to Jenkins Ford with the intention of purchasing a "New" 2016 Ford Taurus for $18,999 that was being advertised on their internet site with 2012 miles on it. It was being advertised as new even though it was a 2016 because it had never been sold. When I arrived at the dealership I walked the lot looking for the car. After 20 minutes of walking around (No salesman in site) I went to the sales room. Not sure whether I should enter or not because the decal and sign on the window stated it was a Polk County Sheriffs substation I went in anyway. Place is a stockpile of whatever. I spoke to a salesman and he passed me to Tom. Not a friendly guy, probably should find another line of work. I told him what I was interested in so he brought me to the car. The car was dirty but I figured I could overlook that so I told him i wished to purchase it and showed him my trade. My trade is a 2013 Chrysler 200 with 67,000 miles. Kelly Blue Book says in good condition it has a retail value of $10,100. Knowing I would not get close to that I figured they would offer me at least $8,000. Nope.....He offered me $4,000. I said are you kidding me? He wasn't!!! I told him what I thought it was worth and he said how about the $1500 damage to the car. It has a little scrape on the front right fender. Could probably be repaired with some touch up paint. He stuck with his $4,000 offer. Of course I was not happy so I left. On the drive home I decided that I still liked the car so when I got home I called Tom up and said I would not trade my car but would pay cash for the car if he could lower the price a little bit. He told me he was not willing to drop the price at all even for cash. WOW, was I shocked. Bottom line is that they don't need your business. Whoever owns Jenkins Ford has plenty of money and does not care whether they sell cars or not. I cannot recommend that anyone buy a car from JENKINS FORD especially from TOM. read more

Purchased a vehicle through their Lakeland facility. I purchased a used vehicle ("as is") which the salesperson (Joel) stated had been "fully serviced" when they took it in as a trade-in. On pickup, the interior was filthy, matted with dog hair and grease stains on the rug. I had to request that it be cleaned which was performed while I waited. On leaving the lot, the gas tank was empty. I took a picture of the interior and the "E" level of fuel, not noting until I looked at the pictures 3 days later that the check engine light was on. I took it to my local mechanic who pulled 13 codes, 3 of which were current. I called Joel who advised me that he would "look into" what he could do. I never heard back. I then emailed the main dealership in Ft. Meade. Within a day, Joel called and said he would, again, check what he could do. I never heard back. Now, several weeks later, the vehicle was deemed unsafe to drive by my local repair person who suggested I have it towed to the dealership. I emailed the dealership which did not respond. My local repairman showed me the sludgy oil and extremely worn spark plugs and indicated no service had been done to the vehicle in a very long time.The air conditioner does not work and clearly had not been "serviced". Overall, this vehicle is a 2 ton paper weight. Since purchasing it, I have put $750 into trying to make drivable and have now been driving a rental for 2 weeks bringing the investment up to $1000.
