Poor Form Mr. Anthony Vaz
As of 08/26/18, I presently have a bonafide contractual and legally binding sales agreement with this dealership via their internet sales department and my salesman was Chuck Watson. This deal has been in the works since about 2 weeks ago when I was notified that the 2018 Lincoln Navigator with the VIN#5LMJJ3TXJEL01177 vehicle wouldn't be available for purchase until the week of August 20th. I was emailed and texted pictures, window sticker along with other details. After reviewing that information, I was asked if I wanted to move forward and purchase this particular vehicle for which my response was yes. Keep in mind, I have all supporting documentation in the form of texts, emails, on-line chats and dealer forms in addition to not only the sales agreement contract but email correspondence and between this dealers finance department and my bank if the owner is interested. Once financing was secured and all documents signed by both myself and the dealer and overnighted to my office for which I signed and overnighted back and now in their possession. This morning I received a text from my salesman, Mr. Chuck Watson, to call him as it was urgent. Upon phoning Mr. Watson, he told me that they sold my vehicle to another individual. I asked when did this occur for which his reply was this morning. I asked how can that been since you sold it to me first? He told me that it was not his decision but the general manager. I asked to speak to the General Manager Anthony Vaz. He told me that he was unaware of my purchase and that he had no prior knowledge for which my response was..."I don't believe you." When I instructed him that I was all paperwork had been signed, submitted and money being wired to them by my lender this morning, his response was that he can sell it to whomever he wants because he makes the rules. My response to him was, "Not if the car has already been sold to someone else and unfortunately, "your" rule is not the law according to Florida Motor Vehicle Statues." I attempted to reach out to the owner, Brian Jarrett, by phoning the dealership. I was placed on hold only to have the GM Anthony Vaz pick up. This was a blatant attempt to intercept my call to avoid the owner from knowledge of this. I have jumped through hoops to do the due diligence asked of my by this dealership in securing the sale of this vehicle in the way of providing personal information, signing contracts and running to the post office, all of the paperwork involved in processing the loan, securing a shipper to pick up this vehicle, plus . Not to mention, now my credit has been hit for this loan and have incurred costs from my lender. Another detail I feel important to mention for anyone whom reads these reviews in an effort to be prepared for any what they may expect. I was originally told by the salesman, Mr. Chuck Watson that their interest rate would be about 5.99% but that if I had a bank I'd prefer or get a better rate that I may want to do that. However, after informing him that I was getting a rate of 3.25%, he informed me that they would match or beat it. After telling him that I would go with them for the lending, he then changed his tune and said that they could not even match the 3.25%. Florida law states that if a dealer or any individual has a bonafide offer and signed contract and the "seller" sells the vehicle to another party with or without a deposit, they are in breech and the buyer can seek damages being both legal fees and damages to replace this car being the difference of what the original purchase price was and the difference of what the buyer is out to replace it. In a nutshell, I believe this dealership found another individual that was willing to pay more for my vehicle and/or was upset because I was using my own lender. This unethical and unlawful practice could potentially cost this dealership several thousand dollars. Not to mention a blemish on their reputation. I am writing this review in hopes that the owner will reach out to me to make this right. Not all is lost at this point, as I am willing to drop not only this matter but remove my review and delete it. Otherwise, I will move forward in my quest and in addition file formal complaints and making aware of this dealerships business practice or at least in my particular case with the following: Florida Motor Vehicle Division, Florida's Attorney General and Ford Motor Company.
48 hours after (supposedly selling this vehicle to another individual), I hopped on-line to continue my quest to located another vehicle and discovered that Jarrett Gordon Ford listed this same vehicle, VIN#, details on CarGurus.com. Keep in mind, the vehicle had been sold twice prior to them listing it on line. This is obviously either a bait and switch tactic to attract interest and calls and shows intent to defraud.
