I have nothing but good things to say about Jemil's! In the Seattle downtown area on Tuesdays, this food truck is a popular choice for my office. Menu items are a bit on the pricier side for lunch - but what do you expect when you work downtown? I always keep an eye out for their daily specials, which they post on their Facebook page. My favorite has to be the crawfish mac & cheese - delish! This truck tends to get a huge line during lunch, so my advice is to go early if you can. They also moved to a new downtown location - 7th and Pine.

I cant believe I didnt review this place yet. This is my favorite food truck in WA and I have tried a lot of food truck. Everything here is great but if I had to recommend, stick to their grilled offerings over fried. Both good but their non fried dishes were better.

Portion size doesn't justify $9

I really don't think I'm meant for the food truck craze. I always get excited about having so many options so close to work, but I always end up feeling like I paid entirely too much. Despite a very solid representation of Cajun food, Jemil's isn't really an exception to that. To be fair, the food at Jemil's is very, very good. The Shrimp Po Boy is downright delicious. It's the perfect combination of meaty shrimp, spicy sauce and crusty bread. If I'm honest, it's actually somewhat reasonable at $7.99... and if you're ordering something, it's probably the only thing I can recommend. The chicken etouffee? I'm told it's great... but $9 for what is essentially an over-sized cup just doesn't jive with me. Knock $2 off the price and you've got on helluva lunch. Oh, and $5 is too much for bread pudding, bread pudding they forgot and I had to walk a couple blocks back to get, is too much. Again, knock about $2 off the price and maybe you've got something. As soon as I find a 30% off coupon, I'll be back.

Catfish and Fries

I'm afraid with this one, I found this truck disappointing. I went to this one at the Everett Street Food Festival and got the catfish and chips. I was very interested because I LOVE catfish. Unfortunately, nothing worked very well. The fish was under-fried and under-seasoned. There wasn't a whole heck of a lot of it either. It came with frozen french fries that were generously covered with a seasoning salt. The fries were only mediocre as well. It also came with two sauces. The menu didn't describe them. One seemed to be a remoulade sauce and the other one seemed to be a fruit or a mango sauce. The sauces were good, but not enough to compensate, especially since i don't know what they were. I think something had a lot of garlic in it, but I couldn't be sure. I was also a bit unsatisfied in terms of the price. For $9 I got a rather small paper boat that wasn't overflowing by any means. With trucks, I tend to expect a better value. Just one guy's opinion.

Blackened shrimp po'boy sandwich. Delish!!

This truck came to our parking lot today. It smelled so good and the food was even better. I had the blackened shrimp Po'boy sandwich. It was huge...I could only eat one half and saved the rest for tomorrow's lunch. Great portion sizes and plenty of large shrimp! Will definitely try some other items on the menu next time they come here!

Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm. Crawfish Monica is the bomb! Okay, I may be a little biased since "Monica" is an awesome name. Still, Chef Jemil knows how to work it out! Customer Service - The first time I visited Jemil's was at the Fremont Mobile Food Rodeo. I've been a fan ever since. It doesn't matter who I talk to at that truck, they are always exceptionally friendly and I love Jemil's easy going manner. He ALWAYS has a kind word for me, even when he sees me walking down the street. Julie is always super nice as well. Food - Oh, my. The food is really good. The standard menu is good but the specials - the specials are where it's at. I'm ashamed to say I haven't made it to the truck for fried chicken yet but I'm working on it. One of my favorites is catfish - seasoned perfectly, fried to a crisp, and so flavorful. Po' boy? Forget about it! Take your socks off or they'll get knocked off! Social Media - Always dependable, never a surprise. Kudos! Thanks for bringing great food to the Seattle food truck scene!

Jemil's truck is now at the 2nd and Pike food truck pod. That is 1 block away from my office so lawd help me from getting obese by year end! I am a big fan of Jemil's. I love his fried catfish and chips. Good cornmeal batter that is well seasoned and not too heavy. The fries are just ok - they are run-of-the-mill frozen fries I think. Definitely not from freshly cut potatoes like at the Skillet truck. The crawfish étouffée is also yummy. Sometimes they have BBQ shrimp with cheesy grits and that is very tasty although be forewarned - it is kinda greasy. I had to spoon out a puddle of oil. I would not recommend the peach cobbler. The pastry was sticky and resembled extra thick soggy croissant dough. The peaches are canned so don't expect fresh peaches in the cobbler. Tips: lines are longest between 11:30-12:45. Go at 11 am or 1 pm. Once you order the food takes between 1-8 minutes depending on what you order They do take credit cards.

From start to finish, my experience with this catering company was nothing short of excellent. Firstly, the communication and planning process with Mitchell was seamless. He helped me taper down my breakfast menu items to fit the number of attendees. I tend to order too much (it is better to have too much than not enough and run out), but he assured me the quantities he suggested for my group size were just the right amount of food. On the event day, the catering team arrived well in advance, set up everything beautifully, and was ready for our starting time right on the dot! The presentation of the food was elegant, showcasing their attention to detail. Communication along the way (the many emails I sent to ask questions) was promptly answered. The food was outstanding, and the catering staff were a delight to work with. Enrique was on time and professional and set it up just the way I requested. His attention to detail, from ensuring dietary restrictions were accommodated to the food place cards identifying each item. I highly recommend THE CATERING COMPANY! They are my number one go-to cater when I need a breakfast or a lunch set up. I like the convenience of checking their calendar online to see if the dates I want are available. They will exceed your expectations and leave your guests raving about the delicious food. Seed IP Law Group loves your catering company!

However, none of the food we've had from them (which is a lot) has been anything worth writing home about. That said, I don't think anything has been bad either. Overall it's a safe place to use for a catered lunch.

When we began our search for a caterer, we found Shooby Doo Catering, tried one meal with them, and decided we didn't need to look anywhere else. Their food is a delicate fusion of Asian and American cuisine and they manage to blend beautiful flavors together without making their food overly salty or overwhelming. While all the food was amazing, I have to point out a few items that we ordered. They have a large menu but they were willing to customize the menu for us. Ahi Poke Taco | Shoyu sesame marinated sushi grade ahi tuna, Asian spicy slaw, crispy wonton shell, sriracha lime kewpie mayo, micro cilantro. This appetizer was AMAZING. I had it at their partner restaurant, Bar Dojo, and knew it would be a hit. Several guests consumed 3-4 of these before the meal came out. Seared Scallops | jumbo U-10 scallops, caramelized, served with a lemon burre blanc* These scallops were huge and perfectly seasoned. They were handled with class and the chefs made sure that none of them were overcooked and rubbery. Absolute perfection. Braised Pork Belly (GF, DF) | all-natural pork belly in honey lemon hoisin glaze, served with fresh scallions and pickled cucumber When we picked this dish, we didn't know what to expect. Surprisingly about a third of our guests chose this dish over braised beef and scallops and my brother, who tried all the plates, chose this as his favorite. The pork belly was as smooth as butter and well balanced with the scallions and pickled cucumber. You cannot go wrong with if you go with them. Ariana, who I communicated with, went above and beyond and made sure everything went smoothly leading up to the event. You will not be disappointed!

We had our annual event on October 8th at the Edmonds Waterfront Center with Shooby Doo catering as…read morethe food vendor. The Waterfront Center has them as an exclusive contract so we had no choice but to use this caterer. We signed up with them back in 2020 believing that we would have an in-person event in 2021 but the Delta virus made us have to do a virtual event. Shooby-doo refused to refund our significant down-payment, so we were stuck with them for a future opportunity. Which we utilized them, as I said, on October 8th 2022. The tasting that we did those years ago was absolutely wonderful. The food was quite delicious. And that team worked with us to make sure that we would have a really good selection of food items to meet all pallets, allergies, and so forth. Thus, the food is quite expensive. The major issue that we had with this company is that we are a non-profit organization and have to abide by state guidelines in regard to serving alcohol. It was almost impossible to work with Scooby-Doo on this issue because they had really bad information that they kept telling us was accurate. It was not good. It took weeks on end to finally get them to deal with the state directly and understand that we were correct and we would not do anything that would potentially jeopardize our nonprofit status. In the end it was resolved well but the frustration that we were put through is still something that has a scab on the wound. One expects for someone who is providing a service that particularly has to meet state guidelines would know what they are doing and what they are talking about. And not asking us to work in a gray area. And that's what we were told over and over again. "Just work in the gray area", but like I said it was finally resolved. One other minor thing that was aggravating but we dealt with quickly was them wanting us to get more alcohol than we needed. We got what we knew we needed and still had a few bottles left over. And the only other minor aggravation was they didn't know their full contract the evening of when everything was said and done. They thought we were supposed to be out of the building at 10:00 p.m. but we were actually scheduled to be out by midnight. Again it got resolved but it was something else to add to a more stressful moment in time. Now on to the good stuff: The night of the event was extraordinary. Their employees had everything set up in advance as it was supposed to be and the venue looked amazing. They were so friendly, accommodating, and easy to work with. They literally catered to our every need asking questions along the way to make sure that we were satisfied before our guests even arrived. The staff members were amazing. The food was out of the ballpark extraordinary. People absolutely loved the food. We had a double-sided buffet in order to make things would go smooth and quickly. I'm glad we opted for that rather than having them serve the dishes. It worked well. I'm absolutely sure that we would never use Shooby Doo again for our agency events, because of the massive issues we had with them in the beginning. However, I do think they would be good for things that are not related to being a non-profit: Like weddings, birthdays, small corporation celebrations, and such. If you're considering Shooby Doo to cater your nonprofit organization, be careful, be warned, and make sure you check everything, especially the legality around alcohol service. Also, know and monitor the contract so that you know exactly what's in it. While the service was excellent the night of, and the food was extraordinary, the price tag on this event was far more than we anticipated. We recognize that food costs are up and inflation is a nightmare but this is a very expensive catering service. Scooby-Doo gets a five star on the food quality and the evening of service. They get a one star on the knowledge on working with nonprofits, or at least with our non-profit. They get a negative 5 for not allowing us to get our down-payment back when the Delta virus came and shut everything down for everyone. I feel they should have offered it back with perhaps a small penalty but they did not so we were forced to have to use them a couple years later. I thought that was absolutely ridiculous. I told them that I would give an honest review. And this review is that.
