A few weeks ago, I noticed a burning smell in my basement and followed it to the electrical closet. I spoke to Greg on the phone about the issue and he was very professional and honest of what he could and could not do about the elusive issue. Most importantly, he did not use any scare tactics. Unfortunately, he had a client that day so my husband found another company to come to diagnose the issue. After opening and thoroughly examining the electrical box, the person could not find the problem and recommended an escalation to perform a full diagnosis, which would be nearly $500. I called Greg and he talked to me out of my panic. He also recommended a solution to test for the source myself. Later that day, my husband and I took Greg's advice and we were able to narrow it down to our home security system. He replaced it with plastic. (A bathroom guy did the same taking the ceramic toilet knobs saying he lost them (?)) As the electrician walked from the house, he held the fixture up admiring it. Of course, he didn't ask if I wanted it & neither did I request it to my chagrin. The other guy broke my bathroom vanity glass because he stepped on it having laid it on the floor. I drove to a number of places & made calls to get it replaced. I could not find the old style cover. They didn't attempt to find a way to replace it. A long time later - a year? - I decided to ask them to install other items & do that for free with an entirely new fixture. They did. It's disconcerting to have these things happen where, what seems like bad ethics, it leaves a bad taste. I need work again, but I won't be calling on them. The latest 'unethical' was the guy who didn't return my cell phone charger while days of outdoor work. I did ask about it, but he said he didn't know where it was.
