She brought our nephew back against my better advice and appearantly has had better and more accommodating overall experience with them this time around. Ill give them two extra stars for this. However this tells me either A. Our previous instructor was the issue originally or B. They improved because of our review for us specifically. In addition my spouse has brought our newphew's sibling this time and I was a bit shocked and surprised to see them only giving a $5 per month discount for siblings sign-ups. I would have expected a $50 or 25% discount for this. Lastly, I do wish they had some sort of guarantee for early swimmers such as...kids will learn to swim independently within 3 months of lessons. There is no guaranteed like that here so it may take 1 months 1 year or 3 years for said kids to learn to swim which is a bit concerning for how much that is charged. I do know a couple competitors offer guarantees like this. Regardless overall this review does mark an improvement from last review.

Lucia is now 15 months and we still show up every Saturday and honestly, that says everything. Coach Angie is patient, kind, and just gets it when it comes to working with babies in the water. She knows the curriculum inside and out, but more importantly, she knows how to make the experience fun and safe from the very first class. Lucia went from a baby who had never been in a pool to a little girl who LOVES the water and that's 100% because of Coach Angie. The moment Lucia spots her walking over she starts waving and kicking with excitement. That kind of connection doesn't just happen it's built by a coach who genuinely cares. I'll be honest we've had a couple of classes with other coaches who didn't quite meet the bar we'd come to expect. We gave Big Blue that feedback and they handled it really well. Super supportive, took it seriously, and corrected the situation. We appreciate that a lot. We came back, landed back with Coach Angie, and haven't looked back. If you're a parent on the fence about swim lessons, just go. Water safety is something we feel strongly about, and Big Blue Swim School (especially with Coach Angie!) is the real deal. I especially want to give a shout out to Perry because he was always so gentle and caring with my little one. Both my kids started at Australian Swim school in the parent and me class and my oldest is six now, so I guess I can say we were long time customers. We never had an issue with any of the instructors. My oldest is autistic so I know he was challenging sometimes, but they always found a way to make it work. Now, we did end up leaving because of little things that started bothering us. One of those things was the poor maintenance of the facility. I noticed that things would breakdown and they would remain broken down for months, the temperature of the water in the showers was inconsistent, sometimes it was really hot, and other times we couldn't get it warm enough. When we left, one of the doors for one of the changing stalls had been broken for months, and already there were only like 3 or 4 stalls available, so this only made things worse, but even with all this, we were still happy to bring our kids to their swim lessons. I think what finally had us looking into other swim schools was the fact that my youngest had been in the parent and me class for over a year, and despite his instructor telling us that he thought our son was ready to move up a level, management always found a reason to not move him up. Which is interesting because at the new place, he started on the next level right off the bat, and he's been doing great! I want to finish this review by saying that I'm grateful to Australian swim school for giving my children such a positive first experience in swimming, and I'm grateful to the instructors for their patience and dedication to the kids. I do hope that the owners consider updating their facility and fixing whatever is broken, because if they don't, I think they're going to lose more customers to their competitors. The way he interacts with children, motivates them while keeping classes silly and fun, is truly impressive. The company itself is also incredibly helpful. My daughter had a broken leg that prevented her from swimming, and the team helped us put our lessons on pause without forfeiting her recurring slot with Maxim, and even refunded us for her missed lesson the weekend prior. We've been incredibly happy with our time at Waterworks, both the customer service and professionalism of all the staff, as well as the skills Maxim helped our daughter learn.

Instructors do cancel or become unavailable, kids do get sick, but actually using your makeup credits can mean having to find a completely different time or instructor. We accumulated a lot of credits that became incredibly difficult to use without disrupting the recurring schedule we worked hard to secure. We spent hours on calls trying to work something out and eventually had to escalate it to management and management doesn't care. For Regional Center/SDP families especially, I would ask a LOT of questions before committing your budget here. The administrative experience and lack of flexibility have been incredibly frustrating.

They have all the necessities you need and more to feel ready for your child's lesson. The viewing area is my favorite because it's all glass walls, so anywhere you sit, you'll have a good view of your child all while enjoying some hang time while waiting. They sell snacks and drinks and offer coloring pages along with free lollipops to all the kiddos. My personal favorite is how special they make each individual kid feel. With the 1:4 ratio, each kid is seen and gets a personalized lesson to focus on their progress. Once they're done, the coaches take time to talk to each family and share what their child excelled in and what they can work on. If you download their app, you get a weekly report card that shows their progress. And when they've passed their swim level, they announce their name and they get to ring a bell along with a photo that gets posted on a wall for everyone to see and get recognized. One of our favorite Aqua-Tots team members is Ava. Ava was my oldest child's favorite person to see when she attended a few years back. So when we came back with our 2nd child and she immediately remembered us, we knew we were "back at home". She is always so kind to my kids, she greets them and offers hugs, kneels down to talk to them at eye level, helps us out when we're ready to get snacks from the front desk, and makes sure we're taken care of. Jessica is a wonderful instructor and just has her way of teaching a baby infant survival skills. The pool has never been crowded, there's a lot of space and you get undivided attention. This was a big factor in opting for them over Aqua-Tots (my child was too distracted as there were so many children and so much going on). Having the restrooms and shower facilities is convenient. They also set up a changing table and small tents as an option. The entire staff is wonderful and professional- Margie, Aleena, Sophia and the instructors Jessica and Sasha.
