This past weekend was a vintage tractor show with a bunch of pop ups from local vendors with some really fun stuff. I got a couple of coin purses hand made by two high schoolers, really different and unique stuff (perfect for gifts). The pumpkin patch is always a delight this time of the year, I got some spaghetti squash and a few smaller pumpkins. They also have a feeding section filled with goats and various animals which is fun for all ages (my kids still love it and they are in their 20's and so do we). Love the store, lots of fresh chocolates and candies, gifts, nuts, snacks, I mean everything! And they also have seasonal foods and gift items as well. They usually have a food truck or two or a standup ice cream and BBQ place out there. Literally something for everyone! And the employees are always super nice! Overall fun times for the family or an outing with friends!

They have parking out front but it looked like a doozy with its incline into the dirt so I just drove around looking for street parking. I do not recommend trying if you have a lowered car. I did not put in an order but was glad to hear that they had many of their items available frozen. They are expensive so expect that. The pies are a decent size with generous fillings. My favorites were the Sausage Rolls & the Minced Meat & Cheese, tasty! Since I got them frozen, she gave me a rundown of how to heat up the pies & they came out perfectly. They carry such a nice mix of unique specialty items along with everyday groceries, which is something we have always appreciated. That said, prices have become very high compared to nearby options. I recently compared produce prices with Trader Joe's next door, and Trader Joe's was significantly less expensive. More importantly, the last several times I have shopped in Major Market's produce section, I noticed multiple bagged salads, bagged vegetables, and even some refrigerated salad dressings that were well past their expiration dates. We have also purchased their fresh garlic croutons from the front of the store for many, many years. Recently, though, the crouton pieces were cut very long rather than into normal bite-sized pieces. These were not crostinis; they were the actual croutons. The pieces were awkward to eat and, in my opinion, could even be a choking hazard because they are not cut into manageable bite-sized pieces. I'm not sure what is going on, but shoppers should be very careful and check expiration dates closely before purchasing items from the produce/refrigerated section. I also hope the crouton issue is addressed, because Major Market has been a beloved store for our family for many years.
