    Fresh Hopia sold here!
    Jenny N.

This place is definitely the watering hole for older Filipino males looking to win big on the lottery! I stumbled upon this place while getting my oil changed at Daly City a couple years ago and it has been my go-to spot to grab a coffee and donut holes while I wait it out. This place does advertise that it is a "Lucky Retailer" for the CA lottery and theres consistently at least 2 tables of older Filipino males hanging out either working on scratchers or checking their lotto tickets. I hope they keep producing winners!! As for the food, the donut selection is actually pretty small and meh...but there is a variety of other different Filipino treats you could buy! I finally decided to buy the hopia (ube & mongo) as well as a chicken empanada this time around and I was pleasantly surprised! The donuts and coffee are pretty average and nothing to write home about but the hopia is sooooo fresh and so good (not too sweet either)!! The chicken empanada had a good amount of flavorful filling! The service here is consistently friendly and welcoming! I would definitely go back for the Hopia and empanadas and maybe I'll actually test my luck next time and get myself a lotto ticket!

Craving satisfied! Every time I order here it never disappoints me... always fresh & very tasty. The best empanadas & Hopia(baboy, ube, mongo). I highly recommend this place...one of my favorite place!

This donut shop is cool because they offer lots of Filipino pastries. There also donuts and drinks. A good place to grab a pastry.

    Hopiang Baboy Flavor

My goodness!!!! I found a hidden gem in Daly City! Perfect chicken empanadas and Hopia baboy, monggo and ube. You're not gonna go wrong on those flavors! Good thing I bought all flavors. I tried it for the first time and it's super good! Superb It's all worth it driving from east bay. For sure I will come back and buy some more!!! P. S. Friendly cashier as well so 2 thumbs up for that

Stumbled upon this hidden gem in Daly City yesterday! My family picked up a box of ube hopias, as per the worker's recommendation. This was my first time trying a hopia and I really enjoyed it! The pastry was light and flaky and the inside ube was soft and slightly chewy. Definitely coming back to try their ube pandesal with cheese!

I don't know if I got overcharged or they're just an expensive donut shop. $4.75 for a twist and a chocolate raised. There's no prices up for the donuts.

    Empanadas

Empanadas sooo good I got the beef and chicken... when I bite, I taste the butter of the bread and the beef mix with seasoning of carrots and peas. Yum

    chicken empanada

Got the chicken empanada and ube hopia. Yum!!! The empanada had fresh warm chicken. The hopia tasted fresh and had great ube filling. Good balance between sweet and fat

Love love love their crumb donuts, Vietnamese coffee, cronut holes, and custard filled long bars. THE 1 STAR IS STRICTLY FOR ONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES, ONE OF THE SISTERS: One of the sisters is super sweet & nice, I love when she is working! The other one on the other hand... she is NASTY & responds very rude to customers. I've encountered it several times now trying to let it slide but it's out of hand & hence this long awaited review.... CUSTOMER SERVICE DEFINITELY CAN RUIN A BUSINESS. I'd suggest the business owners have a talk to her about her personality and mood. One time she talked about my elderly father & made him feel bad - he didn't want to come back and said she's mean. Another time I asked her a simple question about a donut and felt like I was being scolded by my mom about frickin donuts! Talk about kill joy... who gets riled up about donuts?! She just is miserable and her negative energy & facial expression exudes - "I hate being here" Contemplating after today's instance of her taking the knife to open the donut box and rudely show me about my donut selection instead of just validating my order, that this is the last time dealing with her nasty attitude. It'll be disappointing if this is my last time supporting this business despite how good their donuts are, but customers shouldn't start their mornings or afternoons with a RUDE & MISERABLE EMPLOYEE, PERIOD. Sending her warmth because she definitely could use some

It has the kind of warmth and character that only a truly independent, family-run bakery can offer. The star of the show for us is the Derby Cake -- a gorgeous layered chocolate cake filled with whipped cream, fresh bananas, and strawberries woven between each layer. It's indulgent without being overly rich, and the combination of flavours works beautifully together. What makes it even more special is that you can tell every cake is genuinely handmade. Each one has that unmistakably homemade look to it -- slightly unique in its own way, which only adds to the charm. No two are exactly alike, and that's exactly the point. Be warned though -- these cakes are popular for good reason, and they sell out quickly. We've learned to order ahead to avoid disappointment, and we'd strongly recommend doing the same. It's the kind of place that reminds you of the joy of supporting a local business that genuinely takes pride in what they make. A wonderful neighbourhood bakery that deserves all the love it gets.

When I mentioned it to the guy he said "well you didn't say anything. I don't know" He also didn't ask who was here first if he didn't know. He went straight to taking the order from the man first--just another moment of micro-aggression to deal with as an Asian woman. He could have said "sorry I didn't see you" instead, and moved on. But even after I asked a question about a drink I also received a rude tone and exchange about whether the drink was available or not. I felt like I didn't want to give my money to them anymore after this, which is a shame since I was ongoing customer for years.

Yesterday, I picked up one grilled pork and one grilled chicken banh mi--the owner even hooked it up with an original glazed donut! Got home and again... scarfed down my grilled pork banh mi. My GF loved hers as well. I'm gonna go again today. Great service. Great food. Friendly people. Absolute gem. We…read morecame around 11:30 a.m. on a Saturday and the place was empty, except for a friendly guy working there (I think he may be the owner). He explains there aren't many flavors left because most of his business is through online orders. We asked him to help us pick out 4 cupcakes, and he was pretty chatty about them all. After we picked out our 4 cupcakes, he gave us one for free (wow - thanks so much). That took the sting out of $6 cupcakes. The place is a bakery and store front, but no seating. They have cupcakes, mochi donuts, savory muffins, and various drinks. Their baked good are made with rice flour and coconut milk, so their cupcakes are light and moist. They kinda have a mochi-coconut flavor, but not the sticky mochi texture. Most of their cupcakes have some type of filling inside, which adds to the moistness. All their flavors are really creative, and some of the ones we got today I don't even see on their online menu. The instructions say best served heated for a few seconds, but I found the cream gets too melty. It tastes fine without heating imo. What we got: + Ube cookies and cream - ube and coconut forward. Yum. + Guava - this had a dollop guava jam on top and some squirted inside too. The guava adds just the perfect bit of tartness to the cupcake. + Nutella - there's a dollop of nutella on top that fills part of cupcake inside. + Churro Biscoff - pretty gooey inside, which may be due to heating it a few seconds. Still very yummy. It's a good thing I don't live close to one of these stores or I'd be here every day. I prefer these to Sprinkles cupcakes for the same price point.

And no dozen pricing is disheartening. p.s. another customer asked if the Milbrae location might have other flavors or bites, and he said probably they have the same thing. So he either is an expert and knows exactly what the other location has, just talked to them recently and ask about their inventory, or is just bs'ing.
