We hooked back up to the RV and drug the car here. These guys got straight to it. Unfortunately, the damage done by the 'repair' in Texas would cost $1700-2000 to fix, but Oney got it fixed good enough for us to limp along and showed us how to keep it going for the time being. We…read morehad been experiencing brake squeal from my front brakes and grinding from my rear brakes at the latter part of our trip. I had purchased the 2007 corolla from a dealer in el cajon the week before after I personally inspected the vehicle so i knew it had new front pads and ok rear shoes. To be safe i knew they had to be inspected before the trip back and being so far from home and my normal circle of mechanic friends and relatives ( not to mention tools and a loaner lift ) I took a chance with mark's auto repair due to there great reviews. I was glad i did. Not only was mark able to get me in almost immediately but he inspected (found to be filthy ) then cleaned and lubed my front and rear brakes for less than the cost of inspection ( .35 hr shop time ish ) at most other shops i have been to. I have been wrenching on my own stuff as a teenager thru early twenties and have worked as an automotive service writer/ advisor and general manager at a very busy shop in my hometown thru my early fifties . I was honestly expecting for this unknown (to me) shop to try and unnecessarily upsell me a new set of shoes and drums . I was pleasantly surprised to find an honest ,old school, knowledgeable and upstanding mechanic right out of google on the first try in a town where i know no one.
