Here is the post "My daughter and I went to Tom Jackson to get some implants, etc. done on her teeth. During our first visit, Tom examined my daughter's mouth and afterwards told us he thought the whole procedure would come in just under $20k. We thought great, seems reasonable and went ahead with the process. My daughter, who lives out of town, flew in for the second visit to start the process. The following day we receive the treatment plan from his assistant. The estimated cost was a little over $34k (70% above estimate). We were flabbergasted. We called Tom and asked him how he could have been off that much on his original quote and he said "I don't do billing". Needless to say we stopped the process and looked elsewhere. We found a very professional outfit, very highly rated and who my daughter was very comfortable with and whose treatment plan estimated the total cost at under $19k for the same procedures (less than Tom's original quote). What a terrible experience. My daughter has gone through the first part of the procedure and everything looks great. One other note - after we called and complained, Tom said he would refund our fees for the second visit (not the first) but we had to sign a nondisclosure agreement (gag order) not to discuss this on social media. There's something sketchy going on with an upper right molar and I decided to start with a root planing scaling (extra deep cleaning)... and see if that would help. It did a bit I guess but there might be more necessary so yay 2026! Anywhoo... this place is nice enough but its definitely more a family shop then professional office location is in a south Schaumburg strip mall and seems oddly designed. The admin staff seem okay but had a habit of not returning calls for 3 or so days which I was not a fan of in terms of service level. Loved Siena (dentist daughter) she was very cool and fun to chat with... her Dad was alright but seemed to over-explain basic dental procedures which made me think the demographics of clients were not critical thinkers... Ultimately though I think it wasnt a good fit after a year of trying their services... others might like the practice though.

I made an appointment with this dentist because my dental insurance changed and my usual dentist is…read morenot in the new network. Dr LaVigne's practice needs updating. The office is shabby with ripped exam seats, dirty and old equipment, and inexperienced office staff. This practice does not appear to have a dental hygenist as the doctor performed the cleaning himself. His assistant was apparently untrained as the doctor needed to give her the simplest instructions during my exam and cleaning. What was the most concerning however was a substance the Dentist used on my teeth. I have extremely sensitive teeth and hygienists have used Aqua Seal to take the edge off the scraping. This dentist used a product I was unfamiliar with and I had a bad reaction to it. The product burned the inside of my lips. During the cleaning the suction tube was really large and had a sharp edge to it so when placed in my mouth it was painful. At the end of the cleaning the dentist did not floss my teeth. He also said using a sonic toothbrush was not a good idea?!? Both of my last dentists recommended one to help keep my gums clean. This dentist did find a filling that was failing and one tooth that needed a filling because of gum recession. However, based on my negative experience I do not recommend this practice.
