### An Exceptional Dental Experience with Dr. Chan!…read more I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience with **Dr. Chan**! I have a **serious dental phobia**, so having a tooth extracted was something I was extremely anxious about. However, Dr. Chan completely changed my perspective and made the entire experience **pleasant, comfortable, and virtually stress-free**. He extracted my tooth, and I experienced **no pain or discomfort** during the procedure. He took the time to make sure I was properly sedated and comfortable throughout the entire process. He even started my IV himself--and as someone who knows a thing or two about IVs, I have to say his skills were **almost as good as mine! ** What really stood out to me was Dr. Chan's **excellent bedside manner**. He was patient, reassuring, professional, and genuinely caring. Even more impressive, **he personally called me the day of my surgery to check on how I was doing**. That level of personal attention and follow-up is rare, and I truly appreciate that type of service. Dr. Chan is not only highly skilled, but he genuinely cares about his patients and their comfort. For anyone who has anxiety or fear about going to the dentist, **I highly recommend Dr. Chan!** He made an experience I was dreading into one that I can honestly say was **comfortable and pleasant**. **Thank you, Dr. Chan, for taking such great care of me! You have definitely earned my trust and recommendation! **

Everyone should know before going to Dr. Lu that she has a tremor and her hands will shake while…read moreshe is working inside your mouth. I feel bad saying this, but I regret that I went to Dr. Lu for three years. The best thing I can say about her is that she is very thorough. However, here is a list of just some of my issues with her: -the tremor -she was often late for appointments, sometimes over an hour -she told me I needed a root canal when I didn't actually need one. She told my husband he needed one too, but he was smart enough to get a second opinion who said he definitely did not -the color she recommended for my root canal's crown does not match my natural teeth (see pic) -the crown itself was inappropriately sized and ground down the enamel on my bottom tooth, which I now need another crown for -she recommended my husband and I get a $150 gum treatment once a year. Every other dentist we've gone to previously and since has applauded our gum health and hygiene habits and has not recommended gum treatment. I really do feel bad for posting this but I know Dr Lu sees a lot of Loma Linda students and residents and I don't want others to get taken advantage of like I was :(

From the moment I sat in the waiting room for my consult, to the day I walked out from my surgery,…read morethis staff was top notch. The greeting from the women when you walk in is so warm and welcoming. Everything was explained so well. Dr. Sellas was kind and straight forward and my wisdom teeth extraction was scheduled for the next week! The day I got my surgery I walked in (a little loopy from the Valium) and they took perfect care of me from the start. The day of surgery, the numbness was the worst part! The next day I woke up feeling great! Barely any pain! I didn't opt for them to take my blood and spin it and get the stem cells (I think) out to inject into the holes where the teeth were. I'm not sure if that was the saving grace, or just that Dr. Sellas is that good! Haha. But either way, it was fantastic and two days later it was like I never even had surgery. I will be taking all my kids here for their wisdom teeth! What a wonderful experience from A to Z!

It is a challenging choice to write a review for a healthcare provider with your real identity, and…read moreit's doubly challenging to do so with a healthcare provider who has a partnership with the SB sheriff's department. Sellas is a very available dentist and saw me within a week of my referral; something I assumed was coincidental but quickly learned was a result of his loss of composure and professionalism. If you were booked for a procedure without consultation, that isn't convenient or a mistake. That is an intentional process so that you are prepped for surgery and then rushed for the bill before anything can go forward. The staff, particularly one individual, is VERY pushy about the billing. They will attempt to get you to sign up for an aggressive credit card to pay the bill. Additionally, if you don't have a good relationship with your dentist, you may fall for their predatory desire to go for more procedures than are needed. His inappropriate bedside manner began when he was going over the procedure with my partner and me and didn't end when I had a conversation with him on my post-surgery check-up. I have not and probably never will be an oral surgeon, but I know it's not okay to tell male patients that they're lucky they're not a woman because oral infections are more likely for people on their period. He also made snide remarks about my career and my income in both of my meetings with him. In fact, it was that 2nd time that made me pull him aside and discuss his unprofessional language, but it's probably all for not, as you can't teach an old dog new tricks, especially if that old dog was doing very well for themselves in regards to number of patients (He'll tell you that he's done +100,000 surgeries). I wondered how he was so successful in his practice by referrals alone, but he didn't let me wonder long. He's happy to tell you he's the oral surgeon for the county jail. If you're unfamiliar with that type of work, it's a very lucrative career move that isn't a result of effective and good medical practice. Lastly, if you're on his staff, what you think he's probably saying about you when no one is listening is what he is probably saying. TL;dr: CONS: Sellas is not afraid to bother and annoy you once you've paid him. He will attempt to do unnecessary procedures. He's a jail dentist with a cop attitude. He has issues with communicating to-and-about women. When given a chance to discuss his inappropriate manner alone he proceeded to double down and tell me about his relatives business on giving "boob jobs" and how the credit card partnership is on behalf of his "women" (staff). Pros: Widely available for all reasons mentioned above.

However, Dr. Zalsman did an amazing job and I recovered well! He and his staff did an amazing job educating me, answered any questions I had, and he even called me after the surgery to make sure I was okay. Dr. Zalsman is an expert in his field, a wisdom teeth extraction surgery may seem intimidating but for him, he does these surgeries on a daily basis! Thank you staff and Dr. Zalsman for going above and beyond!!

I opted to used Dr. Zalsman based upon my dentist's recommendation. I needed to have a molar…read moreextracted, and wanted to get an implant to replace this tooth. I asked my dentist (of 24 years) who he would use, and without hesitation he recommended Dr. Zalsman, stating that Dr. Zalsman had done an excellent job on his implant. My dentist was correct. Not only is Dr. Zalsman a dentist, but he is also an M.D., which provided me with an extra level of confidence. The office is clean and welcoming. The staff is beyond courteous. They are professional, yet personable and good humored. Appointments are kept timely, and the place runs effectively and efficiently. On a number of occasions, after arriving early, I was actually seen in advance of the appointment time. Having a dental implant can be an anxiety-provoking process. The bone needs to be prepared to receive the implant, and it is not unusual to have to supplement the existing bone with additional bone material from nearby. I opted for the general anesthesia, which costs a bit more but relieved me of the stress and (frankly) fear associated with enduring this complex procedure. The clerical and medical staff is as good as I've seen anywhere. The medical assistants tasked with setting me up for the surgery went out of their way to ensure that I was comfortable and at ease. I highly recommend this office for any of your complex dental procedure needs.

She took the time to explain all of my options, answer every question, and address each of my concerns with genuine care. I never once felt rushed, dismissed, or disregarded. Most importantly, Dr. Fadel created a safe and comfortable environment that completely restored my confidence in going to the dentist. Her warmth, patience, and excellent bedside manner made all the difference. The entire staff was equally wonderful--attentive, helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable from beginning to end. I'm so grateful to have found Tulip Dental and would confidently recommend them to anyone looking for a dental office that truly cares about its patients!

My first visit here went really well. Everything was done efficiently, and I really enjoyed how the…read moreoffice handled the entire experience. Unfortunately, my second visit was a completely different experience. I came in already very nervous because I knew I would likely need shots, which always makes me anxious because dental injections can be painful. From the beginning, I felt that the doctor was very irritated with me. I could hear it in her tone, and her demeanor made me even more anxious throughout the procedure. I do appreciate her accuracy and that she wanted to get the procedure done efficiently, but I felt that the overall treatment was lacking in kindness and patience. At one point, she dropped the small dental mirror on my face and did not apologize. I completely understand that she needed to get to the corner of my mouth to complete the procedure, but I also felt like she became frustrated with me for not being able to keep my mouth open wider, even though half of my mouth was completely numb. After the procedure, there were still pieces of tooth left in my mouth. I also felt like she was in a rush to finish and did not really take the time to make sure everything was cleaned out properly. At one point, I heard her whispering and talking about the girl assisting with my dental work to another employee right in front of me, which I found very uncomfortable and unprofessional. The front desk employee was extremely sweet, and when I told her that I felt the doctor had been a little mean toward me, she was very understanding and apologized. However, when the doctor came back out and stared at me after I expressed my concerns, I felt even more uncomfortable. I did not feel that my concerns were acknowledged or that there was an apology. Instead, I left feeling worse about the experience. I will say that the doctor seems to be very good at the actual dental work, and my procedure was completed in about 30 minutes. However, being technically good at what you do is only part of providing a good patient experience. The way a patient is treated, especially when they are already nervous, matters too. Overall, I was very disappointed with this visit. I may consider changing dentists because I don't feel comfortable continuing somewhere where I feel that I will be treated poorly, even if the dental work itself is done well.

So, I've been going to another dentist for about 4-5 years. I have a very good friend that works at this other dental office so I was always just able to text and go in. I'm not going to say the dentist was horrible. He had a decent bedside manner, however because it's a corporate office type dental establishment, it's very rushed!! In August I had a crown put on, they opted not to do a root canal on the tooth, I knew I needed one. Fast forward to September 2nd I went back in pain by this time and he said he was referring me to his endodontist who would not be back in office for two weeks. Frustrated, I started researching and came upon Dr Zegar (who is an AMAZING endodontist) who I ended up having do my root canal. Fast forward a week or so later I made an appointment with Dr Hatami as she was recommended by Dr Zegar but I had also been researching a new dentist anyways, and had read reviews on her office. I had my initial appointment/assessment and she recommended finishing my deep cleaning (which I had started with the other dental office but never finished as I was doing a quadrant at a time) so upon leaving Dr Hatami I scheduled my deep cleaning for 3 weeks away (I was a little bummed it wasn't sooner) the very next day they text me twice about two different cancellations for thats same day!! I took one of them. The hygienist Jennifer is AMAZING!! I had already read that online, but let me tell you if you have dental anxiety this place it your place!! EVERYTHING about you his dental office it TOP NOTCH!! Let me also add that the previous dental office had used up my insurance for the year so I'm paying cash at Dr Hatami and I still think this place is AMAZING!!
