Dr. Markham said my husband, son and I all needed root canals (thousands of dollars). Long story short, I got a second opinion and I don't even have cavities. He also suggested my husband and I have deep cleaning done in multiple appointments (more money). My new dentist said I'm not even in the category of needing a deep cleaning. Honestly the best place to go. Staff is super friendly. Have had no issues with my various fillings. They are great at explaining what needs to be done and how. They explain costs ahead of time so it is not a surprise. They truly care about making sure you walk out with the best dental care possible. I have always disliked dental appointments and have a fear of needles but they honestly make it so easy to trust them and are so conscious of your needs that I have had work done here that I had previously put off. They will also send you reminders as your appointment comes up so you don't forget. At my appointment today, my baby started to cry and staff came over to soothe him so my fillings could get done. I was not only touched but they were so sweet about helping out so my dental work could get done. Thank you so much everyone! As someone with health/dental anxiety it had been a while (2years) since I had been to the dentist. I finally bit the bullet and made an appointment since I had some decent insurance for once. Everyone was amazing the front staff and hygienist were kind, professional and understanding. Dr.Kim was amazingly kind and patient with me, she explained everything to me and calmed me down. If I could give a million stars, I would. Dr. Markham literally changed my life. With a family history of bad teeth and an abundance of Diet soda, I had destroyed my teeth. The enamel was gone and I was left with brown, broken, chipped ugly teeth. When we had to wear masks for Covid, it was actually a blessing because I could smile naturally for the first time behind the mask. Dr. Markham took the time, offered options and while I couldn't afford implants, I have beautiful crowns on my teeth. This may not be the solution for everyone, but it was life changing for me. So I always wait until my second visit to a doctors office to really judge how I like it. And after just leaving my second visit with Dr. Markham, I'm so glad to say I finally found a great dentist! Dr. Markham is really down to earth and super friendly. He's goes out of his way to say hi and see how you're doing even if your appointment is just for a cleaning. All the hygienists that I've met are very informative and easy to talk to. I've only dealt with Erika at the front desk but shes awesome and I feel like she goes above and beyond dealing with insurance company's and scheduling appointments. This is by far the best dentist office I have ever gone to. I just got 8 fillings after COVID and anywhere else, I would have been terrified. Dr. M and his staff are so professional while simultaneously being laid back and relaxed. The atmosphere feels like family and they are all down to earth. This dentist truly cares about his clients and it is clear that the staff care about everyone who comes in. The rapport among patients and staff is incredible. This office is awesome! This was my first visit and I needed some new retainers for my top teeth.. They had so many options for the design on my retainers! I didn't even know you can really do anything with them but I guess you can! I got pink glittery retainers and can't wait to get them in exactly 1 week! Very very friendly staff!! I felt very welcomed there! The doctor seemed like a nice guy and the lady that worked on my was informative and kind. I honestly just had the most amazing cleaning at the Dentists office! Brittany was my RDH (registered dental hygienist) and she was truly amazing! I've just used that word twice because it's true. I could never say enough about Dr Markham or his crew. I have a lot of work, and I had a HUGE fear of dentists. I actually look forward to my appointments now. I'm treated so nice, they make sure I'm comfortable and pain free, and everyone there truly cares. The office is clean, comfortable, and upbeat. All the work is done perfectly. Plus, no other dentist (that I know of) does so much for the community. The Yucaipa Extreme Makeover is truly life changing and I'm blessed to be apart of it. Excellent staff - very kind, professional and empathetic. They were great with me and my kids. I just had my gums deep cleaned by Brittany and it was practically painless. Several years ago I had my gums deep cleaned at a place in Redlands and it was horrifyingly painful. This was the opposite. I had my follow up today and it was great as well. I actually look forward to my next visit. There is no high pressure sales here. They did suggest a WaterPik and a different toothbrush and suggested I can get them on Amazon. The fact that they aren't pushing sales from their office is big for me. I believe Brittany understands what it takes to have healthy gums and she can explain it really well too. And she is a truly nice person which helps. I'm actually inspired to have better gums; no hygienist in the past has been able to do that. I started receiving care form Dr. Markham about 8 years ago and really liked him. A few years back he doubled his office size and I immediately began to see a decline in the quality of care my family and I were receiving. There were multiple staff changes during this time as well. Things really got bad a year ago when we put my daughter in braces. Because the doctor had become so busy, most of the work was done by his assistant. She always seemed to be in a hurry and her work was rarely checked by Dr. Markham. This resulted in many return trips to his office to have procedures repaired or redone completely. Brackets and wires would constantly come undone, sometimes within hours of leaving the office. The final straw was the arrival of his new receptionist, Heather. Billing became a joke and we suddenly had balances due for procedures that had been paid for in the past, as far back as 2 and half years in one instance. Her attitude became condescending when we questioned why these balances had not been brought to our attention sooner. To add to my frustration, my family and I recently began seeing a new dentist and found that procedures done within the last 6 months by Dr. Markham and his staff have to be repaired or completely redone, resulting in an added expense. I still, after 8 years of continuous business, have not received even a text from Dr. Markham to address any of my concerns. What a shame, 8 years ago this would have been a five star review. read more
