A team of doctors was assigned to his care and leading the treatment was Dr. Joseph Walsh, the cardiologist. Once my dad was stabilized, he was moved to ICU. For the next four days, I saw Dr. Walsh visit my dad frequently. He took the time to sit with my dad and evaluate him thoroughly and monitored his progress with keen interest. He made sure my dad got the prescribed medications, diet, exercise and directed the attending nurse meticulously. All along, he discussed the diagnosis and plan with me with great patience. I truly feel that the Dr. Walsh saved my dad that day. Once my dad was discharged, Dr. Walsh proactively followed up with us and offered a comprehensive plan of action, which included placing a high-tech heart monitor, several relevant and revealing tests, and coordinated with other specialists, including GI specialist. It can be overwhelming for the patient/family to tackle so many specialists, but Dr. Walsh personally spoke with other doctors on the team and became our single point of contact. Dr. Walsh not only demonstrated his expertise in cardiology, but he did it with the warmest, most caring attitude. It felt like he was treating his own dad. My dad was comforted by his mere presence. Especially publicly. So here it goes: Our son had a serious fainting episode and Dr. Griffin's office was able to get us in a timely matter without any administrative problems. His front desk staff were warm and accommodating. Dr. Griffin performed the echo himself. Unheard of! (I get regular echocardiograms done by technicians which then get *reviewed* by a physician *later*.) His bedside manner was calming, unassuming and put a worried and frazzled parent to ease. Dr. Griffin spent nearly 2 hours with us going through other tests, as well as family history. Again, unheard of! The time he spent with us was thorough and detailed, I felt like a load had been lifted as we walked out of his clinic. Note: I am an experienced lifelong neuro/cardio patient at Stanford who can attest to numerous bad experiences. Dr. Griffin is an excellent choice for any child needing care from a cardiologist.

She was kind and patient and took the time to explain everything and answer all my questions, never rushed me and always with a great attitude and a warm smile. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Khilnani as she save my baby's life when she realized my daughter was not growing properly and got me into an early labor (37 weeks). During labor she was calm and guided me with confidence. She respected all my delivery and labor's requests and offered my husband to cut the chord which made him really happy! I was really scared of giving birth and I feel so blessed and grateful that with Dr. Khilnani both my baby and I are safe and healthy, I had a beautiful experience. I see his back as he walks out the door, saying, "Call me if you need me." I was stunned. No empathy or concern. No curiosity about what we might do going forward. Just rude. Procedure didn't work, so he's just done, guess I'm on my own to start all over somewhere else. I've felt more empathy and concern from my car mechanics. I realize that for EPs, procedures are just what they do. What they focus on. If it doesn't work, it ultimately turns out to be your problem and they really don't seem to care. I think the way he handled it was reprehensible. I've come to see that this is common behavior in the world of electrophysiology. I really wonder what it is they expect patients to do. We sure don't want to have to deal with AFib. When we're treated so callously, it just makes a bad situation worse.
