My wife goes to this Dr. for her migraine headaches and raves about how great he is. He isn't her primary physician, so she co-pay's more to see him, but so far, he has been able to control her headaches or at least been able to explain some of the reason's for why her headaches are so bad at times. Funny part was, she went to him for this same issue 10 yrs ago and when she started going back to him about 3 years ago (after seeing many other neurologists), she didn't remember him at all, but he remembered her and even what he had told her back then on what she needed to change. I'll be damned if he wasn't right. Thanks Dr. Gitt for giving me my wife back. read more

I've been coming to see Dr. Gitt for 12 years now. The office is very clean. The staff is very helpful friendly and kind. I look forward to seeing the doctor because he is one of my doctors from the beginning after I got my TBI. read more

I really would rate Dr. Gitt a zero, but I wanted to leave a review. I was diagnosed with MS 16 years ago by a Neurologist, in Florida, whose credentials exceed those of Gitt. I only went to see him because I had a major relaspe which included paralysis and required hospitalization and inpatient rehabilitation. After a short office visit with no face to face history, no additional testing, and an incomplete Nerological exam he declared I didn't have MS. I found him to be arrogant, unprofessional and inept. I will not see him again and I certainly WOULD NOT RECOMMEND him. read more

After reading the one star reviews, I was compelled to tell about my experience several years ago with Dr Gitt. Dr. Gitt was kind and professional during the first couple of visits. Then, for no reason-I hadn't changed-he became rude and disrespectful to me. Dr Gitt actually started to argue with me after I simply asked him a question. Naturally, I left his practice and I have been under the care of a professional and caring neurologist. I wish you all good health. read more

Unfortunately Dr. Gitt retired from active practice. But, for being a very competent, and the best"bed side" type of pleasant attitude. His office staff was the best. read more

It is rare that I feel so compelled to leave a review but this is necessary, especially after reading an earlier comment about how someone does not understand the negative reviews. Dr. Gitt seemed to be a decent guy when we first met at the initial consultation. The latter visit was when I learned more. I'm a non-confrontational person and was very nice during the visit. I'll describe a few of the specific experiences that stand out: 1) During the visit to help diagnose a likely neurological concern about leg fasciculations, he would moderately slap my legs. He'd say something like: "This may seem strange, but there's a really good reason for doing it." When I asked about the reasons, he would not give me much of a response besides making it obvious that he knew things that I do not. 2) He used Electromyography equipment as a diagnostic tool during the visit. When I asked questions about what he was doing, he would not give me a straight answer. When I asked what the equipment was showing and checking for, he actually said that they were things I wouldn't understand. (Wow! He was aware of my formal technical education...) 3) At the end of the appointment, he seemed intent on answering any questions I had, but when I actually asked some, he gave answers that seemed intent on making me feel inferior or getting me out of the office. There was no real concern for me as a patient, much less a person. I felt like he got to do his tests, would bill for them, and that I was of no use to him anymore. My general summary: For the positive reviewers out there: I would reconsider your position. There are many doctors out there that can provide helpful services without being arrogant and condescending as you try to 'come to terms' with serious health issues. It is worth noting that he referred me to another specialist and that comparative experience is what led me to write this review. Although Dr. Gitt may have been helpful to some people, you can definitely do better. read more

I have been under the care of Dr. Gitt for 12 years for MS. Dr. Gitt stays well informed with the different medications available to treat it. He has kept my MS in remission all of this time. His assistant, Laura, always is on top of the medications and the other Laura, nurse in his office administers the drug via infusion. He is amazing and all of his staff is as well. Dr. Gitt is straight forward with his questions, he is always willing to answer any questions you may have. I highly recommend him. read more

I am so happy I found Dr. Gitt i wasn't planning looking for a new doctor since I had previously been a patient of Dr. Anthony's for over ten years at Pulmonary Associates but they excused me from their practice due to their extremely rude manager. Anyways back to Dr. Gitt he has won several awards for top doctor and I see why, he was very attentive when I was explaining to him my condition as a new patient he didn't rush me or make me feel like a number his office was impeccable and super clean and his staff was a pleasure from start to finish! I'm so glad I found my new doctor! read more

My wife is treated every three months for Cervical Dystonia and Dr Gitt was extremely callous and rude with no compassion from the beginning since she started receiving Botox injections four years ago. I went with her to one of her appointments and he was extremely unfriendly. Since Covid struck our state we stay home and always wear masks. Dr Gitt comes into the treatment room and immediately takes off his mask and demands my wife take her mask off as well. She has Diverticulitis and major stomach issues since treating with Dr. Gitt and she was hospitalized in 2019 for three months and so she has underlying health conditions. She has told him she's more comfortable leaving her mask on. He forced her to take off her mask and was incredibly rude when my wife expressed concern for getting Covid from him. My wife won't be back and this doctor needs to stop practicing for the dangerous philosophy that because he's had Covid, he claims to be immune and therefore he says my wife is immune. First of all, he's not a scientist or medical researcher and cannot make assumptions about a disease that has taken the lives of 400,000 Americans and it's not his expertise. This so called doctor needs to retire or have his license revoked for how he treats people who are dependent on him for pain relief. He never listens to my wife's concerns and interrupts her when she discusses her pain. If my wife gets Covid this doctor will hear a lot more from us in court. Arizona has the highest number of Covid cases per Capita in the world and this Doctor is advocating and forcing his patients to take off their masks which is egregious, negligent and dangerous. Stay far away! read more

Saw Dr. Gitt several months ago at the height of the Pandemic (before vaccine eligibility). Dr. Gitt started a heated argument over mask wearing. After he joins me in the treatment room, he removes his mask, he invites me to remove my mask. I decline. He insists that there is zero evidence masks help prevent the spread of COVID-19. More people have died wearing masks than not he insisted. I had a family member at the time in hospital on a ventilator fighting their life (who later passed away from Covid) and here he is being arrogant and opinionated. Says he had Covid and recovered just fine. How a discussion on masks had anything to do with why I was there, I will never understand. Aside from that, be a human and show some compassion. I'll show myself out now and not come back. read more

Love this place! Don't understand the negative reviews. I am so happy to have a provider who is taking good care of me, Dr Gitts is EXCELLENT! Please people don't take our providers for granted. Drs work long hours and listen to us complain all day about what is wrong with us, have to figure us out & have take care our emergencies on off hours, diagnose, prescribe, operate. It truly takes a special person to help all of us who are in medical need, sometimes their attention is taken away and we have to wait, or sometimes an office may be short staffed, what ever the case is, it does not mean that they don't care about you, they are busy helping others and are prioritizing with the resources they have available to them. Health care needs help as do all business in this valley, relax we all need to start helping each other instead of acting like a bunch of cry babies on Yelp, putting others down, it all starts with us what can we do to help each other, we need to cooperate, smile and be grateful. Relax! read more

I'm convinced that Dr. Gitt is just working to sell CPAP machines as I was misdiagnosed as having sleep apnea. I do not. The fact that he refused to listen to my experience with my sleep history made me realize he had absolutely NO INTEREST in hearing about my experience--my issue was falling asleep and maintaining sleep. It took over a month to see him and I didn't get my results until two and a half months later. It was not worth the wait. He wasn't listening to me so I got up and walked out. I would not recommend him to anyone. For a doctor to have such a shitty bedside manner is unfortunate. Doctors are supposed to take care of us, listen to us, and to trust our experiences. Gitt is not that doctor. read more

I was devastated to read some of the reviews on Dr. Gitt. These negative reviews are NOT the man I know. When I first started with Dr. Gitt he was very matter-of-fact and dry. As time has gone on, I can say that Dr. Gitt is one of my favorite doctors who is genuinely concerned about me. He is compassionate and listens to everything my husband and I have to say. He pulls no punches, telling you like it is and then explains everything. I can only tell you all, if you want a doctor who will take care of you and listen to everything that is affecting you Dr. Gitt will be a great asset for you and your family. Like a fine wine... he gets better and better! read more

My husband saw Dr. Gitt following a stroke in December 2018. He was rude, callous, impatient with my husband because he couldn't understand directions. Apparently this "neurologist" never heard of receptive aphasia. He told us not to bother with therapy as it wasn't going to help him. I can't believe this guy still has any patients. My husband recently suffered a second stroke and you'd better believe we won't be going to this man. read more

Two automated calls, two voicemails, and one more call sought to confirm my appointment--no risk of forgetting it, which made me wonder why the number of reminders within a period of 10 days. I arrived at 9:32 a.m. for a 10:15 appointment, since I had been told to plan 1/2 hour for filling out papers. I filled out all the papers, inserting some comments and not initialing all the boxes--one page stipulated that the Patient would pay certain treatments and copays--I indicated that I wished no visits or procedures or treatments be made without first confirming with the Insurance. At 10:25, a lady called my name and had me go through the threshold of a closed door in a narrow corridor. She told me the Office could not see me if I didn't sign everything and not insert anything. I tried to reason with her, in vain. She pointed to the page referenced in this writing, saying that needed to be signed so they could bill the insurance--but that was not what the paragraph said. I tried to reason with her, in vain. Then, a man behind me spoke loudly, I turned to face the voice, "If you don't sign this, then go." said the Doctor, pointing to the door. I left. read more

My husband was referred to Dr Jeffrey Gitt by our PC for ongoing nerve pain from a result of Shingles. He was very informative and answered our questions and concerns. My husband also had no strength in left leg and Dr Gett explained treatment process and did complete analysis of his symptoms. We are in process of undergoing treatment with Dr Gitt and at ease of going in right direction with his help. I appreciated his direct approach and knowledge and not "wasting" any time on getting to root of his problem. Some people may find this offensive, but when you have someone you care about suffering pain, results are more important! He continues to improve and we are grateful. His office staff is also very caring!! Jane C. read more

I was referred to Dr. Gitt for my sleep apnea I have been going to him for several years now. I usually don't care to go to the doctor, however with Dr. Gitt that is total different. He not only treats and cares about my overall health including my sleep apnea but he also shows concern for my family. He always asks about my parents and wife. He said the don't have to be a patient of his if they have an issue they can call him and he may be able to handle it over the phone. I would highly recommend him read more

Dr. Gitt was direct, honest & realistic. I appreciate a doctor that gives u directions and answers

Dr. Gitt is a wonderful doctor and I would not hesitate to recommend him to friends and family. He is extremely knowledgable, articulate, and has a terrific bedside manner. He was able to explain my medical issues in laymans terms making it easy for me to understand what was happening to me. He took the time to make me feel comfortable, was thorough in his initial examination, and did a wonderful job of helping me to understand my test results. You can feel confident that you are being treated by a real professional and that he has your best interests. Bill Z. read more

I really want to like this Dr because there are so many other great reviews, but I don't. My husband was recently diagnosed with MS earlier this year and we referred to Gitt. The first appointment was great, we felt like my husband was being taken care of, but it went downhill after that. Every concern my husband has had has been brushed off and ignored, we have called several times and do not hear responses until we call back asking why we haven't heard from them yet. Several of my husband's concerns are major MS symptoms that can be treated and helped but this Dr is telling us that they are not associated. I just have a hard time trusting a Dr that says the opposite of all the research I have done. read more

Quite simply, Dr. Gitt changed my life for the better. I have been struggling with severe RLS and diabetic nerve pain for many years with little meaningful relief. I went to a number of specialists and tried an array of drugs that did not help. When I first went to Dr. Gitt, I was extremely frustrated and doubted if I would ever get this situation under control. I can honestly say that with Dr. Gitt's expert knowledge of the vast selection of drugs available today, and how to prescribe them for maximum efficacy, I feel in control of my RLS and can sleep through the night. Dr. Gitt is a true "doctor" because his goal is to get his patients better, or at least as comfortable as possible. His empathy, intelligence, accessibility and sense of humor as well as his expert staff, earns him an A+. I highly recommend Dr. Gitt. read more

When I first was referred to Dr. Gitt, I was quite put off by what i thought was a military manner--he even made me cry. But he was good--and knowledgeable. Plus, he didn't make me wait and time is important to me. He did a procedure on me that others had told me would be quite painful--it was not. Dr. Gitt is good and skilled. Over time, he has mellowed, and I find him much friendlier. I would recommend him for anyone with sleep issues, migraines, and restless leg syndrome. The arrogance is gone, the rude approach is gone--he is a great doctor. read more

I scheduled with Dr. Gitt because of migraine headaches. My initial interaction with Dr. Gitt was positive. I appreciate that he wanted to rule out "rebound headaches" and took a medication approach upon my second appointment with continued nearly daily migraines. I had SEVERE side effects from the medication I was placed on. When I called the office to ask to go off I was told "no, he wants you stay on". I was rude to the medical assistant - crying and angry because I was completely NOT myself with even thoughts of self harm. The next day I called to apologize and was told I could go off the medication and Botox shots would be ordered. While I got the approval letter from my insurance, no one ever called to schedule the shots. In the meantime, (thank you God) my migraines decreased in frequency. Today I needed to change my scheduled "follow up" appointment because a conflict just came up on my calendar. I literally just sat on hold for 19:03, which was the second call I placed after being on hold for 6 minutes and needed to hang up. It was in this 19 minutes that I decided not to reschedule my appointment but to seek another Doctor's office that would provide better service. I explained these reasons on the phone when asked why I was cancelling. I was told "we presently have 20 patients calling in and three people answering phones". I told her that was indicative of under staffing and I was sorry she was placed in that situation, but it has confirmed my decision to seek better care. I've never left a negative review for a doctor, but honestly feel this was highly warranted. Thank you for the opportunity to share my experience, I hope you find it helpful in facilitating a more positive experience for your patients. read more

I cannot believe this man is still allowed to practice medicine. Look up his record. In 1993 I was referred to Jeffrey Gitt with two herniated discs. Arrogant and did not ask if I was bothered by an 'intern'. This should always be asked prior to the intern's entrance. I was stressed and panicky....... this doc did nothing to allow me to express my problems. I expressed that I was ready to run out of that room due to anxiety and he just shrugged his shoulders. I was constantly interrupted when telling my history, with the question of 'Why are you here to see me?' The records sent from my referral were not in my chart. FYI, my doc referred me there - but to the OTHER doc in the practice. He was sure to ask the questions that 'rating' is based on..... did I spend enough time with you, etc. AVOID THIS DOC! read more

I have had MS for fourteen years and I have seen " the best of the best " who NEVER listened to me and thought all symptoms were in my head! I sure am glad I moved to AZ and found him!! I don't understand the negative reviews. I switched to Dr. Gitt from a different doc who was incredibly dismissive and belittling. Dr. Gitt is very matter of fact and strait forward. He listened intently to all my symptoms and thoroughly looked over all my records before giving his opinion. He tells it like it is, which is how it should be. I actually told him I'd read the reviews and had some concern. He doesn't seem like one to coddle nor baby his patients, which is fine by me. He did seem very concerned and very knowledgable. I only wish I had read the reviews before I made an appointment with Dr. Gitt. I have never had a negative experience with a doctor nor have I ever written a negative review about someone. The fact that I am doing so now reflects how concerned I am that this man is in the medical profession and has peoples lives in his hands. He was extremely condescending toward me and was actually annoyed when I started to cry in his office. His agitation got worse when I tried to ask questions. He angrily threw my images on the screen one by one and very quickly replied that he could not help me and perhaps I need to see a psychiatrist since I was crying. I had an appointment with Dr. Jeffrey Gitt (Neurologist) because of the pain in my lower back and right arm. He was very unsympathetic, rough, rude, and gets worse with each visit. I also have fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, cancer survivor, and degenerative lower lumbar discs. I'm very disappointed with his attitude, he needs to learn bedside manners and stop rough-housing his patients....just horrible! He lacks empathy, compassion and very short-tempered.
