I was told they could not accept the POA because my father is not an Alabama resident, which completely defeats the purpose of having a POA in the first place. What makes this even more frustrating is that I went to the main Revenue Office at the Birmingham Courthouse afterward, and they had no issue whatsoever accepting the exact same POA and were able to register my vehicle without a problem. The Hoover office was not willing to help find a solution or provide any useful guidance. It was an unnecessarily frustrating experience and a huge waste of time. If you are dealing with a registration involving a POA, I would recommend going to the Birmingham Courthouse instead.

The place is secure, and you know this because everyone has to pass through a metal detector on the way in. There are no food, drinks, or weapons allowed. If you like things like paved roads, street lights, fire departments, police stations, sports teams, public schools, war, and research grants, then you gotta know that all that stuff gets paid for by taxes which the IRS dutifully collects on your behalf so that these things can be funded. If it wasn't for them, then the poor would have to rely entirely on charity...and I think we know how that would go. If you find yourself in the position of just not knowing what to do with a big chunk of the proceeds of your short term capital gains, they'll take care of that for you no problem at all.
