To walk out excited, with more than 2 items for less than $10 IE: Beauty products are a big thing with me, and with the thrift competition, by experience, the prices are increased more than decreaed, but the Washington branch stands alone when pricing. This store you won't find garbage on the floors, dirty changing rooms or smelly bathrooms. It's not uncommon for what thrift shoppers have to put up with for a good bargain these days. When I visit, this place is always my first stop and sometimes, my last stop in one day. Yes, it's that good.

Prices are a little high, especially for many things that are fair/poor condition--which are priced as you would expect for good/VG items. That said, I did buy some things, though not as much as I might have if the prices were lower, or more negotiable. ( They will do 10% off of items over $20, if paid by cash or check.). It's a relatively new building, with good lighting and a great parking lot. It's not on any kind of hard corner. The shop is clean and well lit inside. I found lots and lots of viable halloween costume options here. The staff had even gone through and sorted the costumes based on genres. I got out with a HUGE cat head that fits over your head like a mascot's. Score! They have all kinds of strange stuff in here, and bargains abound. I wonder whose houses some of these candles and coffee mugs come from. But I'm happy to scrounge through them and find the cool ones!

There is a lovely assortment of high quality cottons in many colors and themes. What I especially love is that sometime quilt shops stick with very traditional fabrics. The Red Hen has a terrific assortment of traditional, modern, patriotic, etc. I fell in love with some bold, vibrant paisley fabric and already have plans for it. The prices are exceptional. There is nothing priced over $10.00 per yard.

Fairfield's stone, crystal, and gem dealer! This is a cool…read moreshop right on the Fairfield town square! It's a neat Native American store with lots of stuff from lots of tribes across the Midwest and Southwest. I'm originally from New Mexico, so I could recognize a lot of the Navajo and Hopi designs that they had around the store. They carried a lot of drums, dream catchers, and other tribal goods. When I went, there was a guy shopping for drums, and I was impressed to see their selection of tribal drums that they had to offer the guy! The offer lots in the way of stones. The shop has even made little placards that explain the healing powers of each stone. If you have certain maladies, you can get a crystal to put on your chakras to alleviate the problem. The selection is amazing. Whatever your problem is, they have a beautiful stone to cure it. Even if you're not into the stones as a healing mindset, it's still a really cool rock shop with beautiful specimens of lots of wonderful stones at quite reasonable prices, and so what if they'll also cure your migraines! They also have incense, smudges, and herbs. Parking can be a bit challenging, since it's right on the busy square. They have a friendly little dog that'll greet you at the door, he's cute!

The love,…read moreintegrity and knowledge they possess on Native American lineage makes me want to sit at their feet and listen to the Lakota history explained by their storytelling skills for hours at a time. Plus there is no place better to receive love, hugs and lickies than from the two "little girls." Every time I enter the store I find "gems" for my heart and soul.
