Terry Larson with Larson Exteriors is unreliable and unresponsive. Are they even in business?…read more They never answer their phone or respond to messages. This is one of the worst companies I have ever encountered. After trying to get a bid from Terry Larson for many weeks, he was unresponsive but after writing an honest review about how he would not respond, he contacted me immediately, apologized profusely and promised to help me get my job done. I took the review down as I believed him as he appeared sincere. Terry Larson personally measured my house, dropped of sample boards of siding and sent me a bid the end of June. He told me to inform the insurance company my siding was no longer available. I took care of the insurance company, which took a few months and was able to get the siding approved. I made several attempts to contact Terry Larson to assist him in getting more money than what the insurance company would pay and he completely ignored me - refusing to respond. The owner, Terry Larson, does not honor his word once given and no one answers the phone, responds to messages or calls back. Bryan Hershfeld recommended me to Larson Exteriors as he claimed he was starting to work for them and was getting business cards. He wanted me to give out business cards to my neighbors, which I would have done. I had hired Mr. Hershfeld to do some work on other properties. While he was at my home, he damaged my property then refused to return calls or repair the damages. Terry Larson validated that Bryan Hershfeld was working with him. Zero starts all the way. In response to Terry Larson's response posted 10/11/24: I have extensive experience with construction contractors for 30 years. Terry Larson, Larson Exteriors and Bryan Hershfeld don't appear to realize that running a business requires actually answering the phone, following up, doing what they promise, responding to text messages and emails, detailing their scope of work in writing and being honest with customers. This is not rocket science. It's common sense. Unfortunately during these very strange times, there are a lot of posers and scammers out there that put up websites and claim to do various construction services but only want to collect money up front without actually doing anything ... claiming its' for "materials". Then they want you to wait until they feel like showing up but in reality they need to find subcontractors to do the work. They don't want to put any details in their bids including the brand of materials or warranties. With the lack of reviews for Larson Exteriors, I have my suspicions about who Terry Larson is and his company Larson Exteriors.

They installed a new motor on one door which didn't work and stated it needed to be connected to wifi when we get service. Turns out it wasn't WiFi - I called an overhead door company to get it working and the track was installed backwards and wired incorrectly. The overhead door company had to reconstruct, rewire, and brace the newly found broken door which wasn't brought up. It was close to $1000. I asked their realtor to reimburse me for the correction as it was on the sales contract, and the realtor said of course they will - he talked to EP Construction and they said they'll get a check out to me. They never sent it. Now the realtor is ignoring my emails as well as emails from my realtor in this transaction. Crooked company and the garage door was only one of many things. They came out to inspect and provided an estimate. But they could not do the work, because of the cold weather. I get that. The siding would have snapped. Tim was always in touch regarding what was going on with the program. There were two scheduled siding repairs that were canceled, because the weather changed. When the temp got into the 40s, they came and completed the repair in less than a day, and did a stupendous job. However, in their inspection, they found my chimney in disrepair: in need of rebuilding or tuckpointing. Again, Tim kept in touch on the brick specialty guys and their ability to work the chimney repairs related to the weather. The brick specialty guys had to wait for the weather to warm up, yet again, and for it to quit raining. They came this morning ~9:39 and finished up just before 3 p.m. Four guys. Scaffolding four-stories tall. EGADS! I stayed inside. They did a great job and were so kindly. Everybody was so kind, and I did so appreciate updates from Tim on dates, times and temperatures.

Our insurance recommended Rosa for the repair. Scott Rosa came to assess the situation the very next day. He even noticed some areas and issues where our water mitigation contractor had slacked, and made suggestions to (hopefully) prevent any frozen pipes in that area in the future. Because there were so many frozen pipes and other issues with the cold weather, it was just over a month before they could get us scheduled. However, they were worth the wait as they went above and beyond in repairing our laundry room and basement to as good as new (and better than before). I would choose them again, with or without an insurance claim.
