I needed to have some damaged vinyl siding replaced, so I requested quotes from a number of local contractors. About half were either non-responsive or uninterested in anything short of a full replacement. Among those who were willing to do the project, Auchly was reasonably priced and able to get it scheduled quickly. Extremely Unreliable! I found Auchly Roofing online with neutral reviews and decided to give this local business a chance. They gave me an estimate on the repair and the price was reasonable (found it odd that the roofer came 2 hours earlier than the scheduled time, but I happened to be home). I called the office a week later to schedule the work and was asked if the roofer can do it at 6:30 AM. I said this was too early and preferred late morning or afternoon. They said that it gets too hot, so they like to work in the mornings. So, I agreed to have them over at 7:30 AM, though it was still early for me. I stayed home from work to have them come by. 7:30, no roofer yet. 8:30, still no roofer. I called and asked for an update, they said the roofer is running late and will call me when he will be able to visit. 9:45 rolls around, still no call. I call the office and tell them I can't wait any longer and have to leave the house, but asked if they can come back in the afternoon. I am really trying to work with them here, I understand what it's like to be busy. They tell me that the roofer will be over in the afternoon and call before they visit. I stay home all afternoon, no call. Finally, at 4:30PM I call them and cancel my appointment. Not only did I waste a day at home waiting for this work, but I waited all week for them to visit when I could have had another reliable contractor do the work. I'm sure this means nothing to the company. I had a smaller repair job to do, so I'm low priority. I can't speak on their quality of work, but I'd be scared to trust it if they can't even make an appointment. Be very careful when choosing this company. Or be prepared to wait around all day at the house for the "possibility" that they will make it to their appointment, eventually... read more

Horrible and not reliable. They used to be great used them several times. Didn't show up for an 9am appointment. I called several times. Finally some kid called me back at 11am that sounded like he had just woke up. Said he wouldn't be able to get there until later. And recommended I just call someone else. I guess in the wake of a hail storm you can treat people like this, but good luck when business is not plentiful. Your regular customers won't be calling you back. read more

I was in a bind in 2011. I was buying a house that had a damaged roof, but there had been a hail storm and I wanted to use a company that was local and used American Citizens. It was difficult to find a company that was available, local, and used people who were legal residents. Auchly delivered a sample book to my rental house while I was at work, came out the same day I talked to them and gave an estimate, AND got the roof on that weekend so it would be done by the closing of my house. I can not thank them enough. The work was great, they got all the nails around the house as it's been 5 1/2 years and I've only found 2 nails after a full roof tear off and put back on.
