I live in a subdivision where a lot of homes had skylights. Therefore having one was on my bucket list. St Louis Skylights came out and installed one... and shortly after that the problems began. No rain came in; but every time I went upstairs I was killing MOTHS. At first I just thought it was a fluke. Then I began to kill as many as 5-10 per day. I made numerous purchases in an attempt to eradicate the problem. Finally one exterminator on inspection said look into the skylight - you have numerous bugs in there as well as a lot of dead ones. So I called the company. Oh more problems. "We will have Brian call you back". Well Brain did not give a rat's ass about me or my problem and never called back. So I called again. Well then I finally spoke with him and they were BUSY....(really getting somebody else's money instead of fixing what he had already been paid for). Then they were coming Wednesday between 2-3 p.m. and if they didn't come he would call me by noon. Well that didn't happen because once again he was BUSY .....tooooo busy to call me and tell me they weren't coming. So today they came.. As the exterminator said. The skylight allowed bugs of all sorts access to my home, because at one point I thought it was a Moth House despite all the money that I was spending to eradicate the problem rather than my family dwelling. So you must hear what St Louis Skylight said "A PIECE CAME A LOOSE"... I want to know what kinda craft manshift would allow that to happen. But more importantly would it have taken you a week to come if it were rain coming in my home or just if it was insect infestation - was I suppose to share my bed with these rodents because St Louis Skylights said it would be OK and that they would be there when it was convenient for them. RUN don't walk away from these shenanigans. read more

Had skylights redone 3x last year and this is how the project was left. On the solar shade, the rubber strip was left hanging and on the other skylight, flashing wasn't properly done, resulting in leaks to the ceiling. This company never returns calls, ignores you, tells you that you're on "the list", but never follows up. They leave you high and dry to fix problems that they create. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Would give zero stars if possible. read more

These guys are abhorrent. All they care about is themselves. They have ZERO respect for their clients, their clients time and their clients' home. EVERYTHING they told us during the estimate visit was NOT TRUE and they did not live up to their word. They said they were 10-12 weeks out (so mid to late Dec.) for the installation. They said it would take 2-3 days to complete, and we agreed to a 5% discount if we paid in cash. They took a 25% deposit and disappeared. As we got closer to December, I called them to get an approximate date. OVER A MONTH PERIOD, I left 3 messages with their scheduling manager, Shane, and 2 messages with their v.p. Jeff before they got back to me. I had to leave 5 messages just to get a call back. They finally gave us a ballpark date of Feb. 3rd. So much for the mid to late Dec. start as they initially said. Only 2.5 months off. So, on Saturday, Feb. 1st I get an email that Feb 3rd is firm start date!?!? You would think they would give us a week heads up, or something, so that we can organize. You know, we have jobs and a life. Their heads up was we will be there in less than 48hrs. So, we scrambled and organized. The 2-3-day installation turned to be 18 days!!! 18 DAYS! For 18 days, we were hostages in our own home. We could not put our furniture back, we could not clean and we had to be available for their contractors. But that is ok since we do not have jobs and a life and we can lay around the house all day. It was horrible. When they finally finished, I asked their v.p. Jeff for a discount due to all the inconveniences. Do you know what he said: "I am not open to a discount. We completed the work per the contract." The nerve of this guy. I replied "You said it would take 2-3 days. It took you 18 DAYS. That is considered completed per contract?" Do you know what was his response? Well, of course, there was no response. Then he sends me an email with the balance due. Do you think there was a 5% discount as we agreed? OF COURSE NOT! A human being would feel remorse for inconveniencing someone on that scale. If I was the contractor, I would have said: My sincere apologies for the inconvenience. Please accept 10% off for your troubles and if you would like additional skylights installed, we will give you a discount as well. Doesn't that sound normal? Not to these guys apparently. They are abhorrent. They are all about themselves. Unbelievable... read more

St. Louis skylights perform service for us about 2 years ago by replacing an existing skylight in our home. The sky light was big about 4x8 feet. We had a few estimates from some other companies. Most companies could not provide what we were looking for. However St. Louis skylights was not the cheapest but definitely provided a wonderful service. The person who came to start the project with us was very courteous and polite. He was also very detail oriented. The skylights did take some time to come in but they were custom-built. St Louis skylights definitely has one of the longest warranties in the city. When they came to install the skylight, they were prompt and clean. So far so good. It's been at least a couple years and it still looks great without any leaks. I know if I do however they will be happy to service the skylight as well. We had a number of different projects for our home and there are definitely different tiers of companies in St. Louis. I would rank St. Louis skylights in the top tier along with other companies like lakeside exteriors and Berry door. All of these companies have a great business model with quality products as well as excellent customer service! read more

We love our sky light! The installation was quick and clean. I would highly recommend one to bring in natural light in to any room. And I would recommend you have these folks do it! read more

I purchased dual replacement skylights for our Great Room seven years ago. They have the remote controlled shades as well. Never had a single problem! And they are GREAT to have closed in the middle of Summer to reduce AC costs as well as enhance daytime TV by reducing stray sunlight. Keepers for sure! read more

Terrible Business Practice The short story is that I signed the contract and waited a long time for them to schedule me, only to be cancelled. The reschedule time was ridiculous, I decided this company would not be very reliable if I had water leakage. If they could not get around to installing my sun tunnel, how long would it take them to get around to fixing a water leak or some other damage. Now they want me to pay a $192.50 restocking fee or they are going to put a lien on my house. Very uncool business practice. They have my $192.50 and a bad review. In April 2017 Sam came to my house to give me an estimate. He was very professional and thorough. I did not sign the contract at that time because I was getting quotes from their competitor. Sam followed up monthly with a phone call. In early June I signed and mailed in the contract. I chose this company because they were professional and I felt I would not have to worry about any warranty work should I have leaks from a sun tunnel. 6/14 Tony left me a message letting me know that he got the contract and would contact me to schedule something in 4-6 weeks. 7/12 Tony left me a message letting me know that they are behind schedule, due to a heat wave, and would call back to reschedule. 8/4 Tony and I spoke and scheduled an install for 8/23 8/23 Tony called me in the morning to cancel the install. His installer was injured. He would call back to reschedule. (I had taken the time off of work to be at the house for the install - I am now out a day's wages). 9/5 Tony calls and leaves me a message. They have had a cancellation and would like to come that day to install. We work and cannot drop what we are doing to get to the house that day. My husband returns the call. 10/5 Tony calls and leaves a message. Want's to set up an install for 10/17. At this point I have decided that this company clearly has no interest in coming out to install one lousy tube in a timely manner. This job is small and I am being shuffled around. I have a sour taste in my mouth about this and worry that if there was a problem with the tube - how long would it take them to get out to fix the tube. I have changed my mind and no longer want a sun tube in my house. I ignore his call. 11/3 Tony calls to schedule. I ignore his call. 12/14 Tony calls to schedule. States that if I do not call back they will send out a bill for a 25% restocking fee. I never listened to the message - until after I got a bill for $192.50 - with a threat to put a lien on my house if I do not pay the bill. We called and spoke to Tony to no avail. read more

Hello, I'm Frankie Vollano, living in Fairview Heights Illinois and had St. Louis Skylights in stall a beautiful Velux Skylight in our bathroom, and now there is no mold in our bathroom as we can open our Skylight and get fresh air in the bathroom. We love that it closes up automatically if it starts to rain. Everyone who see's it, is a amazed by how professionally installed it looks. They came in and installed it fast and cleaned up all the messed afterwards. Very happy with Residential Sylight Specialist Sam Hook, who answered all my questions and was so patient with me by covering all the information about the Velux Skylight. He was a professional that knows his work. Also, They gave me a Military discount for my 20 years service in the U.S. Air Force. One other important note, my Skylight does not leak. Love it. Thank you for your great work. read more

If you could leave no stars, that is what this company has EARNED from me. I noticed that this company has five positive reviews. I TRULY wish I could be the 6th. The level of serice we have received (or lack thereof), has been in a word SHOCKING. A brief explanation of the issue we have experienced....after tons of research, we settled on Velux as the brand of skylights we wanted to replace our aging builders grade skylights. We selected St Louis Skylights from the Velux list of authorized dealers in our area. The intial install last August did not go as well as we would have liked but after it was over, we were reasonably satisfied. We purchased Velux' top of the line Solar Skylights with room darking shades. Absolutely love them, and would recommend them to anyone who ask. However, I could not say the same for the installer, St Louis Skylights. Our problem began a month ago when our ac went out and we opened the skylights. They wouldnt close with a storm approaching. I temporarily solved that issue on my own. St Louis Skylights (Tony) ordered a new motor. Yesterday, the installer showed up right on time. After discussing the problem, he went on the roof to do the repair. My wife is OCD when it comes to clean. She was vacuuming under the open slylight as it was being repaired when a 10 inch section of torn gasket fell from the skylight into our living room. I ask the installer where it came from. He stated "I don't know". I said, I do, it came from the skylight. I ask if he was going to replace it. He said no. I'll just stick it back on. I said no, you tore it. I want a new one please. He begins arguing and tells me and I quote "I didn't do it". I told him I wanted a replacement seal ordered and went about my business. About 30 minutes later, I heard 3 loud Scrapping noises coming from the roof. I went outside to investigate. The sides of the skylight were severely scratched on all sides. I ask him what happened? He stated again that he didn't do it. Incredible!! I had conversations with Shiela the owner as well as Velux. Sheila said they would investigate and get back to me. This morning she called and said they would be replacing the sash. No apology or anything. I adk about the rest of the damaged skylight. She said they were not replacing it and hung up on me. Velux has stepped up and is sending a complete skylight. They have stood up and solved the problem that was handled so pooring by Sheila at St Louis Skylights. I get it. Mistakes happen. Fess up and fix it. We spent over 5k on 2 skylights. If your employees do damage, do the right thing and fix it. Dont argu with your customers when its clear your employeee damaged my property. Poor way to run a business. Good luck with your business in the future if this is how you deal with problems. read more

St Louis Skylights replaced two of our leaking skylights. They were very professional. My husband and I asked a lot of questions and they were very patient with us. Installation was fast and I love my new skylights. They told me my new skylights had a coating on them to resist dirt, and it is true. I can clearly see the stars at night. read more

The people who worked with me were incredible. The sales rep was early for our appointment and had everything done for the sale within a few minutes, including the measurements. The installer also arrived early, got right to work, carefully covered my furniture and floor but kept a bathroom path open for my 3 year old granddaughter AND he talked with her as she watched him from a safe distance. My sun tunnel was installed in a couple of hours and my house was left cleaner than when he started the job! read more

St. Louis Skylights installed three SunTunnels for us last Spring. They totally changed the character of the rooms where installed. When we had a freak hail storm, two of the SunTunnels were damaged and St. Louis Skylights came WITHIN HOURS and repaired them, preventing a lot of potential damage. Exceptional product, exceptional customer service! The loft area in our home was very dark due to the lack of windows so we had light tunnels installed. WOW! It looks like the lights are on where it used to be dark. We also had 1 installed in each of our upstairs bathrooms. The installation guys had to climb on our 3 story roof and run up and down stairs all day. They were very courteous and professional and cleaned up when they were done. The president of the company even called the day after installation to ensure we were happy with our new light tunnels. We highly recommend St. Louis Skylights!! read more
