Great place for breakfast. While in the Moncton area, I was looking for a place to grab breakfast - I didn't want to just get it at the local hotel I was staying at. This place had the best reviews per a Google search, so I figured this place was worth a try. I am glad I came here. The service here was very friendly and quick, we did not have to wait long for our food. Even though it was prepared quickly, that didn't take away from how delicious my breakfast was. Five stars especially for the homey atmosphere this place has! Unlike some other places, this place goes above and beyond to give those family restaurant vibes. But let's move onto the food and wait staff. Our particular Server was a 'Seasoned Professional'. Pleasant. Accommodating. Efficient. Asked all the questions to make sure your order is correct. When asked what type of Toast to go with my Omelette, our Server didn't bat an eye when instead of toast I asked for HomeFries. And did I want them deep fried or on the Grill. Heck Yeah! Where to start...... There are no trained chefs in that kitchen, there can't be given how terrible the food is. The waitress even admitted to me everything is frozen. Nothing is fresh, you want to pay $25 for a frozen heated up meal then go for it but that's insane. I had the "Legend Burger", thinking with a name like that it would be good but omg it was terrible. There was absolutely no seasoning, it was dry and was hard as a hockey puck. I mentioned it to the waitress and she said well they're frozen so take about 15 min to cook. This is insane, you should not be charging people for frozen burgers. I had the sweet potato fries with the burger and they were soggy and greasy, the grease was dripping out of them. The atmosphere is outdated and the walls were dirty. We sat at a booth and the wall next to me was covered in filth, food splatter etc it was nasty. Overall I would not recommend going here as the food is terrible, the service was okay but the atmosphere is outdated and quite filthy. read more

Jeans is one of if not the best restaurant in moncton. The food is delicious the service here is amazing the will do anything of you ask for. The smell is so good it's also super clean and the environment is nice to be around you can have a nice dinner or go with the boys in the bar. I would be here every day if I could read more

Gave you a 5 sometime ago but certainly not this time. Food was way overcooked, service was mediocre and it simply wasn't a pleasant experience. Ambiance was okay. We have had occasion to pass through Moncton half-a -dozen times over the years and always are happy to stop at Jeans for a break from a long drive. The food is always very good, service is good, portions are fairly large and the prices are affordable. Think of just a good cafe with some good seafood on the menu. Excellent standard breakfast fare, good fish and chips and seafood chowder, and OUTSTANDING peanut butter pie! When you drive a highway a few times, you come to learn the best places to stop and you look forward to them. You become a "regular" even that means only now and then every couple of years. It was off to 'Jean's' for breakfast for me on a good many occasions when I was visiting 'and' living / working in Moncton, NB. A wonderful, family-style restaurant on the outskirts of downtown Moncton, and on my way to the office when I lived there, or was visiting on business. One of the restaurant's slogans was sure on-the-mark -- "No one leaves hungry at Jean's!" -- and I know I sure did not! Breakfasts enjoyed there were well-prepared, and really full-meal deals. Stopping in Moncton for the night, I was looking for a place to have a non-pretentious but substantial meal and saw the sign for "Jean's" and went in. Boy, was I lucky, because a substantial meal is what I got and at a very good price with good, friendly service. It's a restaurant, but has the ambiance of a diner. I was so taken, that I eschewed the hotel breakfast this morning to go back to Jean's instead and was happy I did. If the timing's right, I'll stop there for a meal on my way home at the end of the week. read more

When it comes to the service and the people it was a 5 star place. The food was great as well, I hesitate to give 5 stars though only because of the gravy, which seemed to be prepackaged or out of a can gravy; and the fries were decent enough. I will be back though. I wasn't really expecting much from Jean's Restaurant when the bf and I stopped in before making our way back to Halifax. Going in, Jeans just looked like your normal family diner. Well, HOLY COW! The food was delicious. Now, I am really good at ordering the wrong thing at the wrong place (EX: pasta from a pub). I was going to get the clam platter but decided that I would have the poached salmon with hollandaise sauce, veggies, and rice pilaf. Once again, I was not expecting anything special, and boy was I surprised! The salmon was a tad dry but the holandaise sauce was creamy with a unique hint of something delicious, the rice was seasoned and flavoured, and the corn tasted like it came right off the cob!! I was ecstatic with my choice! The bf had his typical hamburger with fries which he throughly enjoyed as well. Next I checked out the deserts in the fridge and OH MY GOSH they looked sooo good. I was not hungry so I decided to take a slice of Apple Crumble pie home with me. So last night in the middle of watching Big Brother, I heated up my pie and ate it.. SOoo Gooood. Standard diner fare. Not the best food ever but not the worst. They do all-day breakfast. Fries are hit and miss depending on which supplier they use. I had the club sandwich with fries and my partner had the steak sub with fries. Both were filling and tasty. On other visits, we've had the all-day breakfast which is fine. On one occasion my partner had the roast beef meal which was awful. Stick to the basics, and you'll be fine. As for desserts, I had their peanut butter cheesecake once, wish I hadn't. Staff is friendly enough. Some servers are more efficient than others. The left side is the dining room. The right side is the bar with videolottery terminals at the back. I would have rated Jeans higher, the other two folks I was with enjoyed their shrimp and fish and chips. Unfortunately the service was terrible. I have been to the downtown version of Jean's many times over the last decade, but this was my first experience with the larger restaurant on Mountain Road. My partner and I ate here three days of his six day visit to Moncton. Like the St. George Street restaurant, this one serves really good food from very pleasant and capable servers. The coffee is good, dessert is wonderful and the food is right in. Will go back often in the future. read more

Got there with a reserved table on the bar side. Waitress din't even give us a chance to sit down and she was like "hello! Hello! Hello...Want anything to drink" So annoying. I have been to bars and that place was so loud....I had the hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes, the gravy tasted like water and the potatoes were really plain.
