But I had a problem with my canister purge valve this trip which I made the mistake of bringing it somewhere else first. My car was in and out of this other shop for a good 2 months. This is an efficient shop run by an honest, competent mechanic. No appointment. First come first…read moreserve. No chitchat, to the point style communication. I called the day before about the engine problem. Boss gave a decent estimate. I showed up the next morning and saw him in the parking lot. He checked the car right away, ordered the parts and told me to wait inside. They started working on the car, took apart the engine cover and showed me the old parts, and the new parts to be put in before wrapping up. The whole thing was done in an hour, much quicker than the book labor rate. The car was left running for another 30-40 mins to let the sealant cured. Boss didn't explain that. He just said it was not ready. Boss is super busy running in & out, inspect incoming vehicles, talking to customers in person, follow up on repairs by the team, ordering parts and answering messages and inquiries, doing cashiering, writing receipts. I can see why he can't do all that all the time but he is pretty close to Mr. Do it all. Most people would be overwhelmed in his shoes, but he is pretty calm the whole time. I can easily give 5 stars for the value and quality of work it provides.

I have been bringing my cars here for over 17 years. They won my business because they are honest…read morewith their customers even when the prognosis is not good. In that time, I have gone through three cars (all with over 200,000 miles on them). In the 17 years I have been going here, here are some of my experiences. 1) They told me flat out that one of my cars was not worth paying to fix. It was at the end of its life (I drive them to death) and they could have had me for an engine replacement... but they told me finding a used car would be a better use of my money. That is honesty that cost them that job... but gained them a lifetime customer. 2) I brought my car 4 years ago in because the MGP dropped quickly, it seemed to be speeding up slower and it was starting to make some light noises. I dropped it off. They took a look at it and told me that nothing was wrong. I am still driving that car and nothing came of this... they were right. 3) Just this year, my car started misfiring. I dropped it off. They said it would be an engine job and (once again) the car may not be worth fixing; drive it till it dies. They then said that they do have a product that would mix with the oil and possibly loosen things up and give the car some extended life. We did it, and the car stopped misfiring enough to get the check engine light to go off and I just passed inspection. It is not fixed, but it didn't cost me an engine job. I am going to drive this thing till the state tells me I can't (or it dies)... almost 300,000 miles now. Since starting to come here, I have recommended this place to friends and family. My father and my mother now bring their cars here... I would not recommend to them, unless this place was the real deal. I have many more experiences, but this is long enough already. Jumping from dishonest mechanic to dishonest mechanic trying to pinch pennies will cost you way more that just paying an reasonably priced honest mechanic. One that will be honest about good news and bad. These people are honest and they will be my mechanic till they decide to retire (or they tell me that they won't work on my solar powered hovercraft).
