The owner came out for the estimate and answered all questions. Once I said yes to the estimate, we agreed on a start date. The crew finished in the estimated time. A few points: -Deck looks great. They applied their surface material in a flagstone style. Very happy with the color palette and how slip resistant the surface is. Is it as cool as our original authentic Keystone Kool Deck coating? No. But it is cooler than other surfaces I've encountered in the valley. -We have a pool net with hooks that fasten into metal eyelets drilled into our pool deck surface. The crew was able to preserve the eyelets so we can continue using our safety net, no problem. -The owner told us that we'd see a white powder appear soon after installation, that it was part of the curing process and would eventually wash away. I was slightly alarmed to see the once pristine finish spotted with the powder, but he was right. A few months later, and the powder spots are nearly all gone. -Cash or check only. (50% down at start. 25% after initial prep work. 25% when complete). Very happy with the outcome. We now look forward to spending time at the pool instead of cringing while looking at an ugly, chipped surface.

The owner was punctual & professional. His workers were nice however, we never knew when they were going to show up, how long they'd be gone for lunch or what time they left. I asked them to tell us since we had 2 dogs locked in the house while they were working. The finished product looked pretty good, from what I could see, since it was too cold to get in the pool. I didn't like it at the separation between the pool & the in-ground spa. The owner sent them out, weeks later, to fix the area. By the end of the swim season I started seeing some hairline cracks, etc. I called the owner again but, he had just lost a loved one. So, I gave him several months before asking him to send them back out. They did eventually come out & fixed the areas. Once swimming season started again I started seeing all kinds of hair line cracks, a rather large crack by the steps & some sort of gouge right by the top step. Again, ""adequate"" seems to be the new norm.

Their "fix" was equally bad. They are not BBB accredited, which should tell you all. They will make excuses as to why they don't have this BBB accreditation. Also, a quick search at the Arizona Registrar of Contractors shows they are not licensed in Arizona under Alex's name (the owner) or "Desert Custom Flooring." It also appears that they have not formed an official company with the Arizona Corporation Commission under the name "Desert Custom Flooring." I suspect they are not BBB accredited, not licensed, and don't have a corporation in Arizona under their trade name because they don't want a place where their dissatisfied customers can lodge formal complaints. The bottom line is don't hire them.

Now after our house burnt down due to an electric issue, about 2 weeks prior to it, Carl sent his people 4 of them to check our GFI pool outlet that was continuing to trip, on advice from our pool tech. We had them come out, they went into our main panel box and turned on a GFI breaker, not the pool breakers, and the house burnt down. They installed their own box for the pool equipment.
