I could not be more pleased with the work John and the team at JDK Auto Sound & Security performed on my 2020 BMW 840i. I came to JDK looking for a genuinely high-end, professionally integrated radar and laser system--not simply equipment added to the car. After a great deal of research and discussion with John, we ultimately went with the Escort REDLINE Ci 360c, including externally mounted front and rear radar receivers and a five-head laser-shifter configuration--three front and two rear. The installation is exceptional. What impressed me most was the attention to detail. The exterior components are remarkably discreet and integrated into the BMW in a way that looks intentional rather than aftermarket. Inside the vehicle, John positioned the Escort display immediately adjacent to the instrument cluster, where the information is easy to acquire without becoming a distraction. The control interface is accessible but neatly tucked away. That mattered enormously to me because the user interface was one of my highest priorities in selecting this system. This was not an inexpensive installation, and I did not expect it to be. When investing in equipment at this level, my priorities are quality, confidence, craftsmanship and knowing that the installation has been done correctly. JDK delivered on all four. I also appreciated John's willingness to discuss different systems and approaches with me rather than simply bolt in equipment and send me on my way. I did my homework, had strong opinions about what I ultimately wanted, and John worked with me to turn that decision into a very clean, professional installation. The finished product feels like it belongs in the BMW. That is exactly what I wanted. Five stars for JDK Auto Sound & Security. If you're considering a sophisticated custom-installed radar/laser system and care as much about the quality of the installation as the equipment itself, I would absolutely recommend talking with John. Outstanding work--and a very satisfied customer. read more

Like an idiot I couldn't figure out how to clear my Kenwood stereo of all the phones downloaded on my car stereo. One stop to see John (on his lunch break) and he had it back up and running in no time. He not only knows his stuff, but he's a really nice guy. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else! read more

I don't often take the time to give ratings or feedback, however, I am making an exception for JDK (John). John was exceptionally professional, prompt, meticulous and charged very reasonable fees for his service. I asked him to install a hardwire cable for my dashcam system. While I can do most things myself, I don't like to mess with the car electrical system. John took the time to explain to me everything he did and professionally installed with zip ties, etc. I would not hesitate to use John again. read more

John made good on his offer to change out the speakers. He was professional and polite. John took the time to ensure I was satisfied and encouraged me to call him should any more concerns arise. I will be working with John at a later time to have him do some more work for me. Thank you John for your calm, consistent professional demeanor. read more

I was looking for someone to install remote starter for my car and found JDK Auto Sound &Security. After talking to John, he said he needs to talk to his team members and get back to me with information. John promptly got back to me and explained the entire process with how many wires need to be cut and how the system works. He was very professional and to the point. Great job. read more

John installed a Drone Dash Cam for me. The installation was perfec. As usual it was perfection. Thank you John. The dash cam, Drone, Integrated so well with my Drone Mobile auto starter its a perfect package. Again, thank you JDK read more

John, the owner was very nice but his pricing was way, way to high and abilities were lacking. All I asked him to do was hardwire an radar detector that had a manufacturer's hardwire kit. He quoted over $200 dollars. I also asked him to hardwire a dashcam that used USB for power. He wouldn't do it because is was manufactured outside the US, and had no US tech support. I finally bought $15 worth of Amazon parts and did the work myself. read more

John is an absolute master at what he does. He's always up on the latest technology and knows the answer to any question you can possibly throw at him. Yes, he's going to be a few dollars more than your big box retailer who has some highschool kid working on your car. I am perfectly fine with this because I know it's going to work, it's going to be EXTREMELY neat and nothing is going to be damaged during the install. Go see JDK for all your auto sound needs. read more

After recently totaling my 2003 Chevy Trailblazer, I had purchased an 04 Monte Carlo. Wanting to upgrade my stereo to integrate iPod, I stopped by JDK on Grafton Street in Worcester to check out some options. My initial intention was to just buy one of those FM transmitters from Best Buy. But after talking to John at JDK Auto Sound my mind changed. I have never been big on car audio. I just want to have the iPod in my car, but John was able to show me all the options available for my car. JDK Auto Sound is a straight forward business. John wants the customer to be happy and have the customer understand all their options. After checking out all the options, and the latest equipment for my car, we settle on a Double Din JVC unit. The unit is perfect for what I need. iPod works great with this unit. Blue-tooth is available. John was able to order the unit and even took off some of the price since he didn't have it in stock that day... After a 3 day wait to get the unit from factory, we set the appointment. I left my car for the day. It was a Wednesday, and usually they close at 4pm, but John is very flexible and waited for me to get there around 4:30!!! He even took about half an hour to show me all the features the stereo has. JDK is a great business with great prices and even better customer service. Check out JDK Auto Sound & Security for your car audio needs. read more

I can't say enough about John and my experience in December, 2015! I knew going in that I would be in good hands because John came to my attention via a recommendation from the owner of a family-owned auto body shop; people I've known since we went to high school together. Vehicle: 2016 Toyota Tundra Installation: Compustar Pro Alarm System & Remote Start (purchased from John) Hardwiring: Escort Radar Detector (I supplied) : BlackVue DR750GW-2CH Dash Cam (I supplied) : BlackVue Power Magic Pro (I supplied) These are the attributes that make John a top notch person and installer to me .... honesty, terrific customer service, excellent craftsmanship and care of your vehicle, excellent communication & listening skills, patience in explaining details of products or options of the installation, very fair pricing, wide range and depth of product and vehicle knowledge. Here are some specifics: * Creativity & Ergonomics: The radar detector has a remote control which I use frequently. I explained this to John and that I wanted to be able to reach it without leaning forward from my seat; a safety issue for me. John did a great job in selecting its placement (no leaning needed) and... and...on his own... he put himself in my place, so to speak, and figured how to place it such that I could use other physical features of the dashboard and the shift lever as reference points for easily and correctly locating the control button. * Uncompromising Quality: I researched online the Dash Cam and its installation so I thought I was pretty prepared to discuss it with John. Well, I got an education. John explained, in detail, how the wiring practices and products touted online were not the best practice and would lead to breaks in the wiring. He explained how he welds all his connections so that they make strong electrical and physical connections so that they last a long time. He was very concerned for my happiness with the installation and maintaining his well-earned reputation. * Neatness: All the wiring is hidden behind or under linings and pillars and my interior showed no signs that John had actually disassembled sections of it during the installation process. read more

Can't believe I haven't written my account for such amazing service. Had an automatic starter installed on my old car and another for my mom's. Other reviews will say the same- John who has been in the business since the mid 90's has established the foundation of this business on the attention to detail,. knowledge, experience and exemplary customer service. There are options for any budget, but you can be sure whatever electronic devices you chose, they will be top notch, and guaranteed. When he had installed my starter, not only did he take enough time with me to ensure that I knew how to use all of the features, what to do when you take the car in for service and safety tips, but he also noticed that my car's battery health wasn't where it should be and offered to replace it. I was hesitant because he was asking over $100 but the service and the guarantee offered on the battery if anything happened with it, and future maintenance was all covered- I couldn't really say no. He also provided quotes on other services like a stereo install i inquired about, and rain guards as well as an alarm. Before we were out the door, he had wrote up and printed out a detailed quote on each. I was impressed, not at the tactics and such but by how through he really is making sure you get exactly what you want within your needs/constraints. I only with his prices were a tad more competitive. - Its by all means worth the extra for the service alone, I am being scrupulous from the perspective of someone that needs a service, rather than just looking to soup up a toy car. I'll be calling him in the very near future for another starter install and scheduling more fun stuff for my cars!! read more

Update: This business contacted me directly by email. I was told that I should be "held responsible" for this review. I wonder how they owner would react to an unsatisfied customer... Installation of my Kenwood Apple Carplay deck, steering wheel control adapter and Kenwood backup camera cost me just under $800 at Best buy. The vast majority of reviews I post are 5-stars. If I don't see eye-to-eye with a business, my first instinct is not to slam them on Yelp. The owner of Jdk was so transparently trying to take advantage of his customers, I had to post this. The prices I give below are all verifiable. I had to send in pictures of my car and wait 4 days for a quote. I gave John my budget at the very beginning--he ended up quoting me for DOUBLE that amount. If he couldn't foresee this huge difference, he probably doesn't know a great deal about the work he's doing. He insisted that I purchase a Kenwood or Sony deck. He would not install a JVC that I suggested, citing it is an inferior product. Ironically, both are products of JVC-KENWOOD. He quoted me over $700 for a basic install, and $100 to maintain steering wheel button functionality. The same kenwood deck WITH BASIC INSTALL is $449. $250 CHEAPER THAN JOHN'S PRICE. BestBuy guarantees the product install as long as you own the car. I wanted a camera installed and John refused to install the highest-rated, best-selling backup cams on Amazon ($18-21) despite thousands of reviews citing the product's poor quality and his "inside knowledge". The ONLY CAMERA he offered me costs more-than $300!! I could replace the amazon camera 10 times and still come out ahead. I told him that the hardware was priced way above market value; he told me that the manufacturer sets his prices. read more

When it was time to finally replace the stereo in my 1988 Porsche 911 Cab I shopped around to gather as much info as I could get. After reading posts and speaking with some of his customers, then talking with John I felt I found the right place and person I would trust my car with. Well he exceeded my expectations ! I've even gone back for a new receiver in my Nissan Murano. He stands by his work, answers any questions, and is always there when and if you need his advise. read more

I had new speakers installed, kickers. (Front/rear/tweeters). Great price. Great service. Kickass speakers

I heard about JDK Auto Sound & Security from a family friend, so went to see about replacing a (2008) CRV stock stereo with something newer. I met the owner John, who not only runs the business, but is also the lead salesman, product expert and installation technician! John showed me a great Pioneer model to meet my needs and quickly created a quote that detailed all parts, labor and separately itemized extra features (steering wheel controls). I had already checked the competition (a "Big Box" store...), so knew the price was fair, but it was a no-brainer to consider JDK Auto given the personal attention and expertise in John. Along the way, John was great at answering and/or returning calls quickly. He was flexible despite his busy time and always presented a professional attitude. All pricing, product and service information was clear, which gave me a great sense of confidence in his business. After the stereo was installed, John took plenty of time to go through all the features and demonstrate my iPhone Bluetooth connection. He was committed to the end of this sale, ensuring that I was completely satisfied with this stereo and installation. He also gave me a pre- and post-installation checklist showing that all car functions (lights, blinkers, etc.) were functioning as expected. JDK Auto Sound and Security is well worth the visit. John runs a great small business and I'm a very satisfied customer who encourages you to check him out! read more

I have had 3 remote starters, a back up camera and a Pioneer audio system installed over the past 10 years from JDK and the owner, John, does amazing work! I have never experienced better service from ANY installer or dealer than JDK. He is professional, honest, and looks out for his customers. There's NO better place than JDK. My truck is my baby, and I would not let anyone else besides John perform upgrades to it. You will not be disappointed if you use JDK. I have referred a half dozen people to him, and they love him as well. read more

I wanted a new radio for my old convertible that would connect to my iPhone. John patiently spent a lot of time explaining my options, and got me a great stereo at a great price. He sat in the car with me after installation and patiently explained EVERYTHING that my awesome new radio does (it just stops short of washing the car for you, I think). I love the stereo, and was psyched that the cost was so reasonable. I wish I had done this years ago. I recommend JDK highly and would trust John to put in security, remote starter or any other car electronics I ever need. read more

Did a few hundred dollar install on a friends car and a 5k install on my newer car. Pretty happy. Will update my review if necessary.

This is my second review for john at Jdk ! And I will keep writing positive reviews as long as I'm getting phenomenal service from JDK . John has done 2 remote starts for me and also installed a full navigation system including rear view cam . I've had a couple of issues with defected parts and John did his best and stood behind his products until the manufacturer sent good products which were installed and it has been over a year now and all the products work flawlessly and I'm positive if anything goes wrong again , John will be there for me !! don't waste your time going anywhere else . John deserves to get all the business in the commonwealth. Thanks for your honesty , integrity and standing behind your work . I will never go to anyone else . read more

I had JDK install a remote start in my vehicle last winter. The service is great and the starter works perfectly. There are not many places you can go today where the person who explains the available systems and helps you select the best system for your needs is also the installer and owner. That person has a vested interest in selling you the right system and making sure it works correctly the first time, and John is that person. I recommend JDK for anyone who is looking for car audio or security products. You will not be disappointed. read more

John was awesome to work with on my BMW z3. He replaced the stereo and all the speakers. The job was done on time and on budget. I would highly recommend John to anyone. read more

John was a pleasure to work with and I'm glad I contacted him first for my project. He was extremely helpful in narrowing down my choices and explaining in detail all that was required to replace my car stereo and keep all factory features working in my 2016 WRX. He has a great attention to detail, is courteous, and does top quality work. I recommend him without any hesitation. read more
