The results of this crew's work was top notch, but more importantly their communication, helpfulness, timeliness and attention to detail made the process a pleasure, even in the face of construction dust (which was actually the 11th Biblical plague in Egypt, but nobody will tell you this.) The strong recommendations we received in advance proved accurate in our experience of Square Deal, and as I review their work a month later, I can say we're delighted with it.

(Paste into your browser if it won't get clicky.) If you compare that picture to the pictures below, and you'll see that they didn't come close to giving me what I'd asked for. And no, they didn't tell me they couldn't meet my expectations when I sent that Email. I still have their Emailed response -- "It's beautiful!" Yes, what I wanted was. What I got wasn't. Do you see the close-up of that fireplace? One of the fake rocks had been given one last smear with three fingers when it had begun to harden. They used that piece on the front of the fireplace hearth. Unbelievable, but true. Then they wouldn't fix it. They said there were "variations" in real rock. But this is manufactured rock, so they could have gotten the colors and shapes right -- and culled out the pieces of low quality. I could give you other examples of problems with communications and quality. I chose this example because I'd even given them a PICTURE and they didn't get it right. Not only that, but the quality is appalling. And this, as the centerpiece of a house that cost over $300,000! No, I can't recommend them.

After doing our due diligence and getting quotes from multiple contracting companies, we decided to…read morego with Titan because of Tony's clear and detailed description of the job to be done, including a breakdown of costs for all materials. The workers who did the job showed up on time every day and were courteous and receptive to changes to our initial plan as we went along. We could not be more pleased that we chose Titan, and we absolutely recommend them to anyone in need of home repairs.

He then…read moreprovided the lowest cost quote but was selected based on referrals and his reviews on Google and Yelp. During the design phase they made suggestions but were also open to ideas such as embedding the glass walls into the tile and using some brackets backwards to allow the glass to be positioned optimally. They worked around the tile installation contractors to lay down sacrificial tracks before tile then replace those later with lower profile ones that were hidden completely below the grout lines. It was obvious that his team had worked together many times. They were professional and extremely competent. They also laid down drop cloths to protect our carpets, did all the cutting outside but even that was vacuumed up afterwards. I've worked with contractors for 40 years and this team is one of the best I've seen. I would recommend them heavily and would definitely use them again.

Reviewing these people is complicated…read more Their problem, it seems, is they are severely understaffed for customer service purposes, and when customer contact is not convenient for them ... well, then the customer just gets ghosted --- not reply-delayed, but totally ghosted. Seriously. There already is a review reflecting this. But the problem is not black and white because, when they ARE flesh and blood (i.e. not ghosts), and they are on the job initially, they are personable, concerned about doing a good job, and their work product is decent. So they are NOT crooks. But the problem arises if you need them to do additional work or make adjustments after the job is done. In my case my job needed secondary work --- NO FAULT of theirs, just extra improvements/corrections that I was willing to pay for. They ghosted me. No reason. Just ignored hone calls and the extra work. I won't list number of calls and emails made and appointments ignored. But it was unacceptable. Times are rough. Labor is unavailable and demand is high. So I have to acknowledge this. But ghosting a good customer is not acceptable practice. I therefore do not recommend these people, because regrettably they are not reliable. I almost gave them a 2 star review for this reason, but that was too harsh. But I reluctantly do not recommend someone who you cannot count on to support their own installation.

This is a mixed review since there is good and bad to mention. I contracted with this company to…read morereplace my siding and double decks. This wasn't the lowest priced bid, yet it also wasn't the outrageously high quotes I received from other companies. I was very excited to finally get this work done. At the same time I was working with TGR, I was also contracted with a roofing company, a painter, and a gate company. In the end, the only company I had problems with was TGR Construction Co. There are things I wasn't prepared for in this process, such as my pictures falling off the walls during the siding tear off or the cracks in the ceiling and walls created with the tear off, of which they tried to tell me all these NEW cracks (I live in this home) are due to normal settling of my home and said all houses settle with time and this is normal and not due to the siding job. I know it's not a coincidence these new and sudden 'settling' cracks appeared with the siding work. They broke through the ceiling upstairs and they did own up to this, maybe because it's hard to justify 'normal' settling with sudden stucco all over the floor. There were structural issues that arose during the project, at nobody's fault, that ended up costing me $11K more than my contract. Then I was also charged $4900 more to remove windows and have them reset. Btw, three other companies included the window removal and reset in their contract. It was considered standard for other companies. After the siding and decks were done, I was left with HVAC refrigerant lines on the ground and blocking doors and windows for my tenants, wires dangling under the deck staircase, the Radon remediation system wasn't reattached correctly and sparked scaring a HVAC technician and me, a deck rail was reset too low, refrigerant line covers were accidentally thrown out, and my daughter and I each did double sweeps for nails left behind when work was done. It took almost two months of asking for them to resolve these unresolved issues before some things were finally done. Jan 20th, three months after the crew left, I finally had the last unresolved issue handled. As a consumer, when I contract with a company, I expect to have the job done right without unnecessary stress. That did not happen here. On the POSITIVE, the crew is hardworking and really nice guys. The siding and double decks look great now. My home underwent a metamorphosis and is now beautiful and I receive compliments. I had crappy, rotting decks replaced with sturdy decks. This is the only reason I give a 2 rating instead of lower. All the mishaps, repair delays, and stood up appointments made this extremely frustrating and stressful. Could I have achieved my desired results without the frustration? I'm sure I could have with a different company. Buyer beware! Educate yourself on all steps that need to be in your contract. Make sure the removal of your windows for proper flashing is in the contract. I know A LOT of people and all my other contractors received more jobs through my recommendations. I know currently four people who are looking for a recommendation for siding, yet I can't recommend TGR Construction.
