Wholeheartedly the worst customer experience I've had the displeasure of experiencing. I have had 2 consecutive issues with JD sports, one from an online order and the other in store. Firstly, In ordered a jacket online with store collection as method of delivery, my account was charged at this point. I received notification that it had been dispatched to Ireland and then dispatched to the store. I went instore a few days later (on the expected delivery date) expecting it to have arrived and was rudely laughed at for not having an email saying my item had arrived. I heard nothing from JD for another week until I decided to email customer service asking about my order status, the representative on the phone could not locate the order and told me "it's just one of those things", an unacceptable answer considering they employ the technology of scanning and issuing order updates at all stages of delivery (they must have known where the order was last seen and who had been handling it). My order never arrived and I was issued a refund and a €10 gift card as compensation. Secondly, instore I bought two tshirts, utilising the gift card and what should have been €40 more. However, the gift card was redeemed and kept by the store and my account has been charged the full €50. Blatant theft of €10 and not part of the contract I knowingly entered into when purchasing the goods. Customer service advised I go back in store with my receipts (which I have and emailed to them), but the store is out of my way. I am now trying to get in touch with their refund team. I will never shop at JD again and would advise others to avoid at all costs. Rude staff, theiving delivery drivers, incompetent cashiers and unhelpful customer service. Appalling service.
Update: Monday 10th of December. I have still had no contact from the JD sports redund team despite now spending over an hour total on the phone with their customer service representatives trying to sort this out. I was told I would be called within 48 hours of my request (early last week) which didn't happen. I was then told I would be called last Friday, this also didn't happen. I was then told that my request had been "prioritised" and I would receive a call today (Monday) which also has not happened. I have now spent well over the €10 I should receive back in the refund on phone credit trying to get through to those who need to sort out my refund. Will this be taken into account? I bet not. The company has no regard for their customers whatsoever. Am I expected to just carry receipts and my bank details with me at all times indefinitely until it suits their refund team to eventually contact me? An absolute farce.
