The Great Outdoors brand is a bit pricey though, this and their other main store around the corner are the only shops of their types on this side of town and they know it. Meeting the rest of the family a short while later, I asked G_ to try on the jersey and it was a little small so I decided to change it for a M. On the way back, i chanced into another shop and found an XL which I purchased for myself. On returning to Champion Sports, I encountered a different floor assistant, who advised me that they handle exchanges & refunds at the regular till (no special back of the shop customer service till) . I went to the till, and with no quibble exchanged the S for a M and returned the L for a refund. The assistant was apologetic that they did not have the XL in stock, and went so far as to advise me to try alternative stores (not Champion I might add) in the area. I don't shop in sports stores as a rule (hence the XL) and so will probably have little cause to revisit any time soon, but I have to admit that I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of service and the customer focused attitude of all of the staff that I encountered. Think of this place as a little bit indie. They sell a few brands that I have always loved - Poetic License and Irregular Choice, which I haven't found anywhere else in Dublin. The prices aren't bad, and the sale prices are awesome. Lots of pairs are half off or even more! Definitely check this place out if you're not interested in the cookie cutter party girl look.

She looked at me, realised it was unlikely that I was in to get shoes for myself (we were in the kids dept) and looked for the child that must be somewhere in tow. ...there he was... faster than a speeding bullet, diving through my legs, past the fish tank (really big, impressive and colourful) and under the benches. She looks at the legs and feet poking out, measures the feet and gets a selection of runners for himself. The selection was big and well chosen.... All bright, boyish and garish as hell. I spotted the ones he would go for immediately - not the most expensive (but not cheap), but by far the brightest most garish runners I have ever seen - they even had lights, lots of lights. Within 2 mins he had them on He didn't take them off for 3 days. Great shop, great (and very tolerant) staff.
