There are always lots of shoes on sale, especially between seasons Selling a range of casual sneaks, edgy leather boots and unusual and fun heels, Graham's has a great mix of stuff that will keep you from blending in. Think of this place as a little bit indie. They sell a few brands that I have always loved - Poetic License and Irregular Choice, which I haven't found anywhere else in Dublin. The prices aren't bad, and the sale prices are awesome. Lots of pairs are half off or even more! Definitely check this place out if you're not interested in the cookie cutter party girl look.

I spotted the ones he would go for immediately - not the most expensive (but not cheap), but by far the brightest most garish runners I have ever seen - they even had lights, lots of lights. Thankfully in recent years Clarks have come to embrace the fashion element of shoes while keeping their emphasis on comfort and quality. They've broadened their range to prettier shoes, so you can still get flat shoes here but now you have the option of having flowers on them. They also do heels as well, but they usually keep them to a sensible height so you're unlikely to get vertigo from any of these shoes. Many of my favourite wearable shoes (as opposed to the beautiful but unwearable ones that populate my wardrobe and never get to go outside) over the years have come from Clarks. Shoes bought here are more likely to last longer and be wearable, but that doesn't mean you have to ignore fashion!

They carry some cute detailed flats, trendy runners and some more demure pumps suitable for the office, but the real winners are the party shoes. They have a lot of those mega-high platform heels that are so fashionable right now. But whereas some can look cheesy or stupid, Buffalo's range is pretty spectacular. There was a gal who came into the store while I was there and she pulled out this amazing feathered skirt that she needed to find shoes for. Buffalo is the appropriate place to find a pair for such a statement and she tried on some nude pumps with snakeskin heel and platform. Win. Unfortunately, the shoes come with a startling price as well. The average pair costs about 140 euros. I shouldn't say average though, because these shoes aren't. I don't know if they're worth it. I went in today and saw a number of stylish pairs like these leather flats that came in purple, black and grey with a delicate swirl at the top of the shoe. Aldo specializes in fancy shoes, offering a variety of styles perfect for the office or for going out. It rarely designs casual footwear and doesn't do runners. Instead it makes tall and short boots, sandals, heels and flats. Prices and quality are moderate. Most shoes cost 40 Euro and up and will last you a year.

Staff are great because they have often put up with my moaning about the shoe not being in the colour I want or size, and instead of stabbing me they actually have taken the time to call all their sister stores and even their UK stores, yup they are good people. If you want a pair of shoes that people will admire and want, come here. Best of all they are always refreshing the line, so chances are you will not face the cringe factor of seeing someone else in your shoes.

They also carry a lot of different labels like the very unique Irregular Choice, the edgy Red or Dead and the comfy, hippie trainers and flats that are Simple. These are rare finds in any other shoe shop, but Schuh's full of them. They've got tons of old standards like Converse and Doc Marten if you don't feel like straying quite so far out of your comfort zone. Their selection for guys is also great in terms of trainers. They also have a wonderful variety of leather shoes appropriate for the office or a night on the town.
