It was an after wedding Brunch for people that had to fly back home thatday.. Menu agreed upon by Sabrina and myself. The contract said it would start at 11:00 and end at 3:30. Sabrina said she and her crew would be there at 6:00 AM to prep all the foods being served BUFFET style which we agreed upon. Well, Sabrina's​ help showed up at 6:00 m but no Sabrina , No Food and no Phone call. Panic​ set in . I figured I better get in touch with a local restaurant fast. The Door Bell rang at 10:15. Low and behold Sabrina and the food showed. She said her sous chef didn't​ show. She proceeded to bring in all her food supplies along with the arriving guests. Well, food was not served by buffet style at all. She passed around fruit with toothpicks​?? at 1:00 1:30 she passed the bagels, cream cheese and Lox. Not Buffet style. 2:30 cups of Lobster bisque were handed out to the guests. By 3:00 people had to leave for their flights 10 guests left. Hungry no doubt.​ By 3:30 she passed out plated salads with her choice of dressing on it. It was supposed​ to be buffet salad with choice of two dressing according​ to contract. Now at 3:30 she served the guests plated, not buffet style as contracted, grilled shrimp with Chicken with Mango salsa. Each guest was served separately​ . Therefore 8 people ate while the other 8 waited for their meal to be cooked and served. No one ate together.​ It was a nightmare and an ​embarrassment. Gig Salad denied any responsibility for their recommendation. They said they suggested this caterer and it was up to me to check out her reviews??? I thought that's​ what I hired Gig Salad for. To recommend people that they screened and suggested. Nope,​ It doesn't​ work like that. They throw out names,​ you choose and do your own research. Well four days after the nightmare affair I get a second corrected Contract by Sabrina stating the affair was to start at 3:00 to 7:00 to cover her self for the screwup​. I said I would not sign it because I already signed the original true contract for 11:00 to 3:30 and I was not born yesterday. If that were the case...What were her people doing at my house at 6:00 Am empty handed asking me where Sabrina was.

All super delicious and with fresh ingredients. My favorite were the schrimp bignet, that remind me the 'bunuelos de bacalo' that you can get at a Spanish tapas bar. The liquor accompanying these flying and disappearing appetizers was the flirty Closet-tini (the event was about closets and organization:), composed of vodka, blue carusco, cranberry and blueberry. But this review is for the pre-contract customer service, which is far and away the best we got from any other caterer I contacted! Samantha Reilly responded to our online request almost immediately, quickly came up with an amazing proposal, and endured several rounds of emails and phone calls as we looked for every little way to bring down the total costs. She was completely understanding of our budget concerns, didn't shame us at all for exploring even the craziest options (like providing our own ice, disposable dishes, and rental equipment!!); every time I called her, she remembered exactly who I was and always followed up quickly. I should also say that although costs were the reason we had to go with another company, Carriage Trade offers completely reasonable prices for their services. The only way the other company was able to lowball them was because they're an industrial-sized place that owns their own rental equipment (a big deal at our reception venue, which doesn't even provide tables and chairs!) If only I had another thousand dollars at my disposal, I would have readily opted for the personalized service of a smaller company like Carriage Trade. We were immediately greeted by Cameron who had been my contact person and was quite diligent in assisting me with menu plans and other logistical details. The good served was exquisite with an array of flavor profiles to choose from. The first course was a shrimp bisque, couples with fresh puréed juice, citrus salad, and toasted croissants. Next we were served braised lamb, baby roasted asparagus, and an original macaroni potatoes dish. Delicious is an understanding. The chef provided wonderful anecdotes that accompanied his dishes. He was well equipped with everything we needed and I can't wait to get back!! The service was impeccable, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was perfection.
