Well it first started with a miss diagnosis (Johnny) on a grey '01 Mercedes supposedly it needed wheel bearings,inner tie rods, Control arms rebuilt when I got the car back it was in worse condition they had put the control arm bolts backwards and didn't fasten the baffles on the power steering.$900 and the car ended up chewing up the front tires in a matter of a couple of months (I had to sell the car because it was to dangerous for my son to drive).You think I would have learned But I know JC and he used to do good work..fast forward to recently I took my sons CRV for an oil leak repair ($1900) I ended up getting it back oil leak was fixed but noticed that a loud ticking was coming from the engine where it was worked on needless to say JC came up with all kind of excuses that it was normal (this is coming from a self proclaimed master mechanic) the car runs OK but the noise which wasn't there before the repair is getting worse.. Depending on what the Honda mechanic tells,Me I will most likely be filing a complaint with the BAR and taking further action (when it comes to my Kid's car and the money he's paid I take it Personal)...Jc's used to be good, now I would look elsewhere JC's lack of integrity and inability to take responsibility for poor workmanship is disappointing! read more

When I first came to this shop it was because it was recommended by a family member . I told them I had been told I might need to replace the engine. They checked it out and said the engine was good. No need to replace. They did "fix other issues". Next month same thing. Now, it was new issues, still engine was good. By now it's our 3rd or 4th time bringing it in to this shop over $2000 spent on various "fixes" and now they say that the engine needs to be replaced! A few years this place was ok, now I wouldn't take anything there to be worked on. The last time was for smog, I told them that it wouldn't pass smog and told them that the smog shop said that he thought it was the EGR, so I left it there to be fixed. 2 days later they call and said they replaced the 2 oxygen sensors, and it still didn't pass. I asked him about the EGR valve and they have to check it out. To make a long story short when they replaced the EGR it passed. That should of been the first thing they should of checked because I told them that the guy at the smog place said it was the EGR. My car was there for 3 days just for smog check and when I picked it up they used more than a half tank of gas, the car was OVER heated and I had a busted tail light lens. I could say more but this is getting to long. I cost me $1500. DO GO THERE!! read more

If you have an old car, don't take it. He will say a bunch of things are the problem because he probably just didn't know what the real problem was. We're still undoing the damage he did to my truck. He's probably great for newer cars since he brags about being a technician but I'm giving him 1 star because he really pushed us around and wasn't nice and at the end of the day he still did not get us to pass smog after $600+ in repairs not including parts. I was referred to this shop from my brother in law, he had to have some work done on his suv and had taking it to JC's and he had nothing but good things to say. Fast , friendly service at a reasonable price. I was fearing the worst about my car, and never had much luck with taking my car to the shop. But I knew this was a problem I couldn't fix. And after calling a few mobile mobile auto repair guys only to get a million different answers of what the potential problem was I gave up and snice my car wasn't drivable I didn't want tow it around until I found someone trust worthy. So I took the advice from my brother and ordered a tow truck and headed to JC'S and not only did they listen and be patient with me and my very non technical explanation of what happened. They assured me they would take good care of me and not to worry. By mid morning the following day I had been called and quoted a price for repair as well as the time it be done the same day and true to there word within the hr they told me so it was done and they even waited for me to get off work to come pick it up. Friendly honest and fair and fast. What more can u ask for ?!? I couldn't be happier and more pleased to write this review. It seems to be a family business. Fast, friendly, fairly-priced, and honest. My car was leaking engine coolant and Tom Bell Chevrolet quoted me over $1000 to fix the leak by replacing the water pump. JC tested the system and found out that I only really needed one small connecting part replaced and was able to fix the leak and a few other small issues for under $200. I had an oil leak from my 2004 Toyota Tacoma ... not bad, but bad enough that my wife nagged me to get it fixed. The Toyota dealer is about 10 miles of heavy traffic away, and I decided I needed something closer. I read the reviews here and chose JC's Auto Repair over a couple of other local Auto Repair shops with similar ratings .... and I'm glad I did. I easily found the location of the shop by the address and by the sign outside, but was a bit taken back by all of the cars parked on the property, which was in an area directly across from the east side of the San Bernardino Airport, formerly Norton Air Force Base, The address is closer to Victoria Ave, than Palm Ave (also known as Alabama in Redlands). I had to park on the street. There simply wasn't any room on the business property. I walked through the gate onto the property and found the proper door for JC's (there are other businesses there), walked in and told the man in the booth what I needed. He asked me to fill in information for his paper work and asked for my keys. I sat and waited for about 5 minutes when another employee asked me if I wanted a soft drink. He didn't have what I wanted, but brought me a suitable substitute at no cost. About 45 minutes later, they called me and my car was ready. They had found the Oil Leak. It was from an improperly installed Oil Filter. They changed the oil and steam cleaned the engine as I requested. Total bill ... $45. Thank you JC. You did a good job and honestly charged me for it. If i had gone elsewhere, i expect the bill would have been 4 or more times the amount JC charged me. These guys are honest, decent people who will do a good job for you. 5 Stars ... 100 Stars ... 1000 Stars. read more
