Boltz Automotive read my post and reached out to me letting me know what time and day they would be available to look at my vehicle and do a diagnostic on my vehicle for $150 and let me know exactly what work needed to be done and the $150 would go towards the repairs if I decided to have service completed through them. I would say within 24 hours of making the appointment for the diagnostic to be performed on my car and actually bringing it into the shop to be serviced. My car was complete and ready to drive again. I am very satisfied with the work that was performed on my vehicle. The staff at the shop is also all very friendly. 10 out of 10 I would definitely recommend the shop to everyone with any car issues. The price I paid was amazing and I'm a super happy customer.

As I proceeded to confirm all details the man started getting aggressive towards me. I just politely asked any questions he had but in the process he started to yell at me and the insurance lady. After that encounter, this place found my Facebook page and contacted me through Facebook and other avenues. This encounter is one of my top unprofessional encounters I've ever witnessed. They went so far as to contact me through a mutual acquaintance. I eventually had to change my number.

After having our car for an entire day, we called repeatedly to be told, finally, at 5 minutes to their closing time, that all the fluid had burned out of the transmission, that the transmission was scrap, and the only option was to fully replace the transmission at a cost of $8900. We were promised a copy of the inspection report that showed this need. We never received an inspection report. We paid $495 for the transmission inspection, via Zelle, and picked up the car, unsure of what to do. We spent that weekend trying to figure out options (borrow the money, finance, give up the car). On Monday, the car would not shift out of park. We paid to have the car towed to the dealership where we bought it ($195). The dealership discovered that the shifting computer had been damaged, presumably during the "inspection" at AAMCO Chicago Heights. That cost $1,400 to replace. The original problem that sent us to AAMCO? Cost $270 and had nothing to do with the transmission at all; it was a wiring fault. We are out over $2,000 directly due to AAMCO's negligence and clearly they were attempting to take us for a great deal more with their bogus claims about our transmission needing to be replaced. Avoid this shop at all costs, because the cost will be high.
