Trisha is awesome! If you have naturally curly hair she is the hairdresser for you! I've had more…read morethan my share of bad disaster haircuts because most hairdressers just don't care to understand about curly hair and when it's wet it looks longer and then it shrinks up when it dries, so cutting it has been disastrous in the past for me. Most hairdressers just don't like cutting your hair dry and think I'm nuts when I've asked for this, because that isn't the way they were trained in beauty school. Well, not anymore, we have Trisha at Hair Muse curly girls! Trisha did the Deva cut (cutting it dry) on my curly hair and listened to how I styled it and she took her time. I'm impressed and she didn't cut it too short, she gave my head of curls a shape! My hair looks and feels so much better. She even took the time to show me some new tricks when diffusing it! She was nice and very personable too! I'm just thrilled I have finally found someone in Tacoma who understands the curly hair dilemmas. I will be going back! My Deva cut was $55 plus a tip. Well worth for me and she spent an hour n half on my head! Thank you Trisha!

She is accommodating, honest and gives full consideration to what you want - even beyond the salon chair. I have been seeing Ashley for 5 years and she has completely transformed the health of my hair while also walking me through several major hair transformations. From blonde to burgundy to chocolate to trendy experiments - every time she has elevated my look to new levels without ever compromising the health of my hair. In 2013 before Ashley - I always loved changing my hair up but being a woman with thick curly hair I suffered the consequences of dry, matted and unruly hair. At one point I just accepted that my hair will always be unmanageable outside of the salon. Then I started seeing Ashley. Beyond the amazing salon experiences she also taught me how to take care of my hair at home, style it and how to evolve it through change. She is the reason why I have my signature feathery bangs, radiant color and hair curls without frizz. My hair used to scare people but now I am the hair envy of my friend group. I highly recommend her to everyone. Let's be real, selfies are 90% hair. See Ashley Mcmahan to achieve the hair goals of your dreams. Trust me she will elevate your hair game.

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience. I was originally quoted $120 for my service, and I…read moreleft a $20 tip, so I expected the total to be $140. Instead, my card was charged $220, which is a $80 difference from what I was quoted. I came in specifically for a hair color and was very clear about the color I wanted. Before getting the service, I asked multiple times if the color I showed in my reference pictures was achievable, and I was repeatedly reassured that it was. I showed several examples to make sure there was no confusion about what I was asking for. Unfortunately, the final color was not what I requested, and the stylist even had to go back in with toner on my roots, but I still did not end up with the color I had asked for. On top of that, I did not come in for a haircut. The stylist asked if I wanted one, and I agreed to a very minimal trim. Instead, she cut off significantly more than I wanted. The combination of being charged $80 more than my original quote, not receiving the color I specifically asked for, and having much more hair cut than I requested is extremely frustrating. If I was going to be charged significantly more than I was originally quoted, I at least expected to leave with the result I had clearly communicated that I wanted. My hair also wasn't all one color I have 3 different shades in my hair now. I'm very disappointed with the overall experience and would not have expected this from a professional salon.

Now for the review. My daughter and I both received haircuts from Leah. We were both very pleased with the results. I have long hair and often don't feel like I have much of a style, but I am not ready for the commitment of a short haircut that requires me to style it daily. I need to be able to pull it up on the many days that I just don't want to mess with it. But there are times when I would like to style it, so I needed a cut that framed my face, was easy to style, and was long enough to pull back. Leah did a lovely job. I have had the cut for a few weeks now and it falls perfectly when I straighten it and the layers look pretty curled as well. My daughter, who is 16 and adorable in my opinion, also liked her cut. She looked pretty as a picture after our appointment. Leah was nice to talk to, we liked the salon, we both felt comfortable, and the appointment time in the late afternoon was convenient. We felt that the price was reasonable and included washing and styling. We will be back for sure!

I had to go to Costco after the appointment. A lady stopped to comment on my "very pretty hair cut". I told her I just got the cut and style today. She wanted to know the salon and stylist I used. Hoping she gives Sandra a call!

I am very UNHAPPY with a recent hair service where I received unexpected highlights from a new…read moreemployee, McKenna, even though I clearly asked for a solid, all-over hair color. I booked for all over color and later was told it would be a bleaching service instead if I wanted to go lighter. I agreed to all over color and going lighter. So this was fine. I originally had all over hair color that was dark brown with naturally grown out roots (2-3 inches). Then McKenna mentioned she was doing something similar to "balayage" when the other stylist and their client asked what she was doing to my hair. I clearly communicated my preference against highlights multiple times, even questioning the stylist during the process when her technique appeared inconsistent with a solid application. Despite assurances of an all-over color, my hair developed "dimensions" and it was BLONDE with noticeable damage to my hair. I thought she was coloring my roots but she was creating "dimensions". Dimensions is not all over color. Dimensions is "highlights", streaks, and lines that's not all over color. I wanted one solid color and for my black roots to be matching the brown all over color. Does that make sense? Does that mean I want highlights? When I contacted the business via email, the owner responded. We went back and forth few times. She only offered to have McKenna fix it, which I didn't want, and suggested just toning it darker, which I knew wouldn't stop the highlights from reappearing. The salon owner's subsequent offer to explain why "highlights" were necessary, rather than acknowledging the deviation from my original request, further illustrates a misunderstanding of my concerns. This experience represents a critical breakdown in communication and trust, as I was misled about the service being performed and would have sought a different salon. I don't think this salon does lift and color method. Or the owner is protecting the new stylist's mistakes. Regardless, McKenna is busy posting on Instagram. There is a photo of my hair and titles it "Behind the scenes" like it is a proud moment for her to lie to a client rather than reaching out to apologize. She should have been saving my hair from being burnt off other than taking photos at the sink. My hair is burnt off and I'm pretty she noticed it when she was blow drying my hair. She failed to mentioned the blotches and missing hair. I did not even get the deep conditioning treatment that I requested. I did get anything that I requested or wanted! In the end, I have unwanted highlights and less hair than before. My hair color is further away from my intended goal because she ignored everything that I said and gave me brassy highlights. I requested for refund or another stylist at the same location to correct my hair. That's when communication stopped and the owner never responded again. This service totaled $270. Here's the thing. New stylist and seasoned stylists can make mistakes! But the stylist is posting on social media other than apologizing. The business owner doesn't understand why you don't want to be getting your done by the same stylists that did everything other than what you have requested... this is not a good business to support.
