This time I went in looking for a change and Anahid knocked it out of the park! I've been going to Anahid for a few years now and each cut and color done by her is always done after clear communication and understanding of what I would like to achieve with my hair. From the shampoo to the final blow dry, each appointment truly feels like a refresh and the color is vibrant and lasting. This time she suggested a combination of ombre and shadow root and she did amazing! My hair hasn't been bleached once but has held the color beautifully each time. I finally was able to go get my hair done and thought I would try out this salon. I am glad I did. My son was in a dying need of a haircut, too. My son does not like salons or barber shops or anyone cutting his hair. He finally was able to let me take him to get a haircut, so I decided to take him to JC Penney Salon so that we both could get our hair done. To my surprise, he actually liked his haircut and the person cutting his hair. I believe her name is Vaught (excuse the spelling, sorry). She did wonders to my son's hair. Thank you. My stylist was Alvart. She was thorough and took her time with me. I wanted to dye my hair and was unsure of the color, but she helped me with choosing the right color. Unfortunately, Covid forced my hair dresser to close her salon and chose not to continue anywhere else. I was house sitting in Los Feliz one weekend and was just browsing Yelp for recommendations. I saw so many highly rated reviews about Alvart, and I had a JC Penny card, so I decided to take a chance. I'm so happy I did, Alvart has been doing my hair for over a year now. I feel like there's nothing she can't do! For example, I'm a natural red head, so red has always been my go-to color. Red is tough, and every time she did my hair it looked so natural and I always got complimented. Recently I decided to try something new and go blonde. Alvart really took the time to go through the process with me. We decided to do full blonde highlights for now, but that might change. I love how patient and personable she is. She really takes the time to go through everything and break things down so there's no surprises. I absolutely love how my hair turned out. I can't wait to see what we come up with next. My son sadly got too big to go to the children's salon & sit in a Mercedes style kids chairs and unfortunately he's scared of the macaws at my husband cousin shop so I was on the hunt for a new salon/barber. I eventually ended up with JcPenny's salon because honestly it's quite. Even though there is a lot going on it's relatively quiet and I personally like the less chit chat & gossiping of woman or the robust loudness of men yelling at the tv over a soccer play. We ended up finding Maritza because she's the only one who cuts men's hair and is always available for afternoon appointments when my son gets off school during the week. She's sweet, kind and gentle with my son. Also you can charge the cut to your JcPenny's card. I also appreciate the waiting area with complementary water bottles , coffee & treats. They also sell a good high end of hair products which I personally have purchased myself. read more

This is horrible place to go to, I asked for a hush cut that's medium size length, and in return I got a man wolf cut. My hair cutter was Anahit. She doesn't know how to cut hair by its length, I told her many times I want it to be medium size. But she said "my mother told me I wanted it to be short" which in response my mother never said that. I will never come back here again. read more

This review is for the Glendale Galleria store. While the mainly Armenian stylists may have some skills, they have really awful customer service and that includes the manager, Brigitte. You schedule an appointment a few days in advance and they always circle back to confirm you're coming. After you get there, it's a different story. After you arrive, if they have a bigger ticket service going on (you have a haircut, and a highlight or color comes in), they'll leave you sitting around indefinitely, at least an hour if you allow it, and then try to pass you off to someone else who's just standing around waiting to pick up their slack. they'll suggest you go shopping as if you've got all the time in the world and you're good to go with their complete lack of consideration for your as a client. It's actually laughable how sloppy and unprofessional the salon is run. The manager, Brigitte, is wildly insincere. One minute, it's all apologies for their behavior, the next, it's "this is how we roll." The two stylists that pulled this scenario with me in the past few months are Lili and Arivek. In addition, the store manager, Brett, is of the same caliber. He offers zero resolutions, they do the same thing to him and he's fine with it, and he'll try to make you feel wrong for calling them on their poor service. If you like making an appointment and then rolling the dice to see if they actually take you, unless you want to wait an hour or more, then go here. If you want professional service with people who act like adults and have class, find another spot. read more
