At some point i really thought customer service was dead. Never mind the dreaded back to school shopping. I thought it would be a nightmare. That Perspective changed quickly walking into jc penny with 4 kids eager to spend our money. While trying to locate a price scanner a very kind employee anna was there to save the day. Scanning every one of my kids clothes to make sure they were correct. Then came kevin saving the day with helping my daughter pick up the perfect makeup. Then jeanne in the changing room. The sales associate Lucy was great. She went above and beyond to save me money and even though it was very busy she still focused on me which made me feel great. She said "you're my customer at the moment so I have to focus on you and not worry about anyone else". I even forgot my receipt and she ran out after me to give it to me. 5 star service. read more

Regular prices are too expensive for my taste. I would only shop here when they have sales of if coupons are offered. Clothing seems to be a good quality. Great selection! I did not give 5 stars because the dressing rooms awful lines, madness with no associate to make things run smoothly. Clothes everywhere and people coming in from 2 doors so it was anarchy. The check out was just as ridiculous. So if you don't have time and patience shop elsewhere. If you have time and they have a sale go for it. I really like the items I bought. read more

I'm sorry but I have to give them a one star They processed my payment on my JCPenney credit card I showed proof of this and they refused to repay me after they double charged my account!! I'm so upset because I call customer service and they say the person put your account number in wrong not once not twice but three times!!!! That is just crazy to me if you respected your customers you would refund my card the money owed on it and allow me to have a 0 charge so I can clear my credit score. This store is mediocre. I came to return some items that I bought online--that is quite the story in itself, I received organic cotton bath rugs that REEKED of wet dog. It was one of the worst smells I ever smelt and as soon as I sliced open the package the smell escaped. So I came to return them, along with a pair of boots that were on sale and really crappy. The closest JC Penney besides this one is Peabody, I can't speak for that one unfortunately. I was bummed this Wareham store does not have extended holiday hours. I drove over an hour and a half to sit in line for 25 minutes to return the items. There were 3 of the 6-7 registers open and a single file line of about 10 people. For future online returners: there is another area to return items so you can bypass this. I perused the store for the last 5 minutes they were open and a lot of things were picked over, like there were literally 8 pairs of women's gloves left in the whole store. I wouldn't come here to actually shop, even if I lived closed by. read more

Dropped in at this JCPenney location to buy a new button-up shirt for an interview and after looking through their selection I am not sure whether I like this store. The store had a few different choices when it came to formal button-ups, but the rest of the store seemed disorganized and under stocked. On top of that, the checkout area was packed and inconvenient. We ended up waiting for what seemed like forever to check out even though all of the registers had staffing. In the end, this is a middle of the road review until I can shop here again to give my final verdict. read more

I use to shop here all the time. The clothes were nice and the prices were good. I would get a coupon every month buy $10.00 get $10.00 off. Naturally I always spent more but it was nice getting $10.00 off the total. Then a new CEO took over and did away with all the sales and coupons so there wasn't any reason to go there when I can get items cheaper down the street at another store. When that CEO left the sales came back but no $10 for $10. But sales can be just as good. I went there today and their prices have gone up with nothing really special on sale. They also did away with their price checking machines. You now check with the JCP app which never worked for me. There were a few things I wanted to buy but with no sales clerk around to check the prices for me I ended up leaving. I just get the feeling that they may not be be here next year. That old CEO did a number on them and it seems like it's hard for them to recover. I hope I'm wrong because I do like the store. read more
